Overnight, COVID-19 changed life and how communities function in Serbia. From March 2020 to July 2021, a total of EUR 21,678,687 was donated to address the harmful effects of the novel coronavirus in Serbia from 1,725 philanthropic instances. Companies were the most agile donors and immediately reacted to the outbreak, directing over 80% of funds to state institutions. The top beneficiaries were local communities and those with health issues, with donations primarily used to purchase supplies and consumables like masks and disinfectants.
