2. Standards I Used
6c Students know how fluctuations in population size in an
ecosystem are determined by the relative rates of birth,
immigration, emigration, and death.
-This standard goes with my topic because in this
power point you will see how population and family history
can affect you if you have kidney problems or not.
9f Students know the individual functions and sites of
secretion of digestive enzymes (amylases, proteases,
nucleases, lipases), stomach acids, and bile salts.
- This relates to my PowerPoint because it says how site of
the digestive system which includes the kidneys and how
they work and this shows you what can happen if they are
bad and how you can keep them healthy.
3. What is
Kidney
Cancer?

when a someone is about the
age of 3 to the age of 8.
4. Risk Factors
Risk Factors that can be Other Risk Factors:

7. Survival Rate
STAGE 5-YEAR SURVIVAL RATE
In Stage 1. 81%
In Stage 2. 74%
In Stage 3. 53%
In Stage 4. 8%
8. Death Rate of Kidney Cancer
Like I said earlier about 64,770 people end up
getting Kidney Cancer and of that total of people
who get this cancer, but 13,570 people end up dying
of Kidney Cancer. Most people who get this cancer
are old and it is not common for a person who is
under the age of 45 to get it. The risk is not getting
about 1 in 67, and the risk in higher in men than
women.
9. Preventions
Some ways that people can prevent Kidney Cancer
is if the smoke they should quit because smoking is
one of the main problem why people get this cancer.
Also if you are obesity or high blood pressure and
are factors and if you are you can lose some weight
and it might help. If you have that you should stay
in a good healthy meals and simply stay healthy.
10. How Kidney Cancer Can Be Cured
Some cures for Kidney Cancer are surgery, radical
nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, “keyhole” surgery,
removal of metastases, arterial embolization, radiation
therapy, chemotherapy, biologic therapy, hormone
therapy, pain control, and etc.. These are mostly
through surgery and depends the type you have and
the stage.
11. Pictures
In this picture it shows the
kidney and then the huge
tumor that is growing right
next to it.
12. Pictures
Like you saw above this
picture show the stages from
were it begins. Stage 1 shows
when the tumor is small but
then when you start to move
up like to stage 3 it shows that
the substance starts to move
up the vein. Then at stage 4
the substance starts to
separate and the little
particles go up the vein.
