2. Past simple
The simple past tense, sometimes called the
preterit, is used to talk about a completed action in
a time before now.
The simple past is the basic form of past tense in
English. The time of the action can be in the recent
past or the distant past and action duration is not
important.
9. Present continuous
The present continuous tense is a grammatical tense that
can be used to describe when an action happened, or may
happen.
You can use it to describe both events that are happening
in the present – right now, while you are talking about
something, or in the future – something that may or will
happen later on.
