2. The following collection was developed for my Apparel Design class.
The project was to design twelve looks with a front and back view inspired by a theme
of your choice.
I chose to design a collection inspired by the Renaissance.
I wanted the collection to reflect the ideal beauty found in the period as described by
artists like Leonardo Da Vinci and Brunelleschi and to allow the client to feel
feminine in clothing inspired by menswear of the Renaissance.
Each piece has design elements that were used in the garments in the Renaissance,
combined with styles that were popular when I did this project (2009).

blue waistband and metal
ornament as belt buckle.
•Black velvet shirt with red
silk insert.

16. •Black velvet dress with
slashing detail on shoulders
and at wrists.
•Ruffles on back of dress
inspired by fashion of
wearing a white shirt under
doublet and letting a white
ruffle peek out at the collar.
