Profile:
I am an aeronautical engineering graduate, raised in the countryside, keen to find work in a
friendly, yet challenging, environment. Reliable, prompt, meticulous and mathematically
proficient, I am able to work well individually, on my own initiative, or as part of a team.
Education:
2008 – 2013 University of Glasgow
Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering with Honours
of the Second Class, Division ii (2,2)
Courses Included:
Mathematics, Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Dynamics,
Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, Control Theory, Aircraft
Performance, Materials, Structures, Electronics, Turbomachinery,
Aeroelasticity, Management, Economics, Law
Projects:
Each year of study involved a substantial group project focusing on
different areas of aircraft analysis and design that culminated in
assessed technical reports and formal presentations. Supervision
diminished through the years, while we were encouraged to act of our
own volition. In this way it was essential to develop good project
management skills and an ability to work together to get the best out of
the team.
In my final year I completed a thesis regarding new approaches to
composite material design and on how to relay key information on
material parameters to a designer. I developed an easily
comprehensible method of displaying the four dimensional design
spaces inherent to the mechanically coupled quasi-homogeneous
laminates I was working with.
