The Fellowship Program announced by the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water and Food - Mekong aims to build capacity and support research related to sustainable water management in the Mekong basin. The first call for proposals in 2011 will provide 5 grants of $10,000 each to complement the CPWF Mekong program. Focus areas include how Chinese officials view downstream Mekong interests and improving hydropower decision-making. Subsequent calls will determine additional focus areas and provide up to 25 grants per year.
