How to create a discussion board in your BlackBoard course

2. Adding a Discussion Click Control Panel

3. Inside the Control Panel Click Discussion Board

4. Adding a Forum Click Course name

5. Adding a Forum Click Add Forum

6. Adding a Forum Add a Forum name and description

7. Selecting Options Select Options This option allows students to post new threads on the discussion boards

8. Automatic Grade Center Entry Clicking “Grade Forum” and adding points in this box will create an entry in the Grade Center Click Submit

9. Adding a Thread Click the link to access the forum

10. Adding a Thread Name of the Forum Click +Thread

11. Adding a Thread Include the Subject of the thread Type the post here Submit

12. Viewing Discussions Click on the thread

13. Instructor Tools Click to Reply to a post Posts can be modified or removed by instructors

14. Student View Students click Reply to respond to a post

15. Instructor Options The Forum can be modified or managed at any time Click Manage

16. Select Discussion Participants Choose user roles and participation rights

17. Grade Center Entry All forums or threads can be included in the Grade Center by including a grade value during the initial thread creation (see slide 8).
