1. When the bell rings, find a partner
(someone you know less well will be more
interesting) and have a conversation
about the question. Write down the
ideas that resonate with you.
2. When the bell rings again, find another
partner and have a new conversation. Put
a hand up if you are looking for a partner
so you can see who else needs a partner.

and find a place to sit.

groups
Engaging Everyone with Liberating Structures
• Remove tables in the room. That makes it easy to move chairs
around in many different configurations
• If you’re in a space where rows of chairs are stuck to the floor,
invite people to stand up, turn around, and talk to the person in
the row behind--make a group of three to have a conversation
• SMALL tables are much better than big--4-5 people is ideal for
deep conversation
• Choose a room with natural light if at all possible
• Use deliberate designs to structure the sharing and ensure it
happens!
