2. What is ERMEXNG?
Reception Station Mexico
New Generation
(ERMEXNG) is the
technological infrastructure
of the Ministry of
Agriculture, Livestock, Rural
Development, Fisheries and
Food (SAGARPA) that
allows to observe from
space the country through
satellite images.

3. Background
The ERMEX has served the country since
2003 for observation, quantification and
monitoring of natural resources and agrobusiness in the Mexican countryside, as
well as in matters of national territory
surveillance and emergency caused by
weather.
Since 2007, the Service for Food and
Fisheries Information (SIAP) is responsible
for the administration, whose antenna has
captured more than half a million images
that have been used by agencies of the
three levels of government in Mexico as
well as public universities and research.

4. Opening
The ERMEXNG was inaugurated on February 19, 2013 by
the President of México.

5. Coverage
The
technology
ensures our country
ERMEXNG exploiting
satellite data, has a
coverage radius of
2,500 kilometers.

The ERMEXNG is composed of staff of the Ministry of
Defence and the SIAP divided into three working groups:
1. Development and System Management
2. Operation and users
3. Processing and analysis of satellite images

9. On September 9, 2012
entered orbit SPOT 6, this was
the satellite thousandth in the
history of humanity, and in
2014 SPOT 7 complement the
supply of next-generation
satellite,
hence
it
was
necessary to build a new
antenna
support
this
technology advanced and
tamper
to
ensure
the
acquisition, processing and
analysis of satellite imagery
at least until 2023.

10. Technological advantages of satellites that
captures the ERMEXNG
Implementation of national mosaics.
Ability to capture the same areas from different angles.
Four hours to schedule urgent images.
Spatial resolution of 1.5 meters.
Radiometric resolution of 12 bits.
Bands: panchromatic, green, red, blue and near infrared.
Directly produces orthorectified images and natural color.
It allows the acquisition of stereo images and tristereo in one
pass.
Linked satellites: SPOT and Pleiades.
