Central Kalimantan and Riau.
10. • LANDSCAPE APPROACH
o The social-economic empowerment program under BRG’s Desa Peduli
Gambut Program (DPG) works to integrate villages in one Peatland
Hydrological Unit (KHG) into one or several rural environmental and
economic growth zone or kawasan perdesaan gambut
• INTEGRATION INTO VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
o Activities under DPG is integrated into village development plan. The
plan must consider: (i) peat ecosystem; (ii) paludicultur activities; (iii)
prevention of peat fire. Indicator of success will be the GOI Index of
Village Development (Indeks Desa Membangun)
• COORDINATION AND FACILITATION
o BRG plays the role of coordination for other development programs in
restoration areas, and facilitates stakeholders’ participation. A DPG
Forum will be set up at district level.
