Service providers around the world are busy rolling out 4G networks to help them meet the growing end-user demand for more bandwidth, higher security, and faster connectivity on the move. 5G will provide disruptive capabilities as well as an economic boost by fostering new ways to organize the business sector of service providers and Enterprise customers alike. The 5G architecture will use only the network functions and resources required for a specific service. It also shares infrastructure and spectrum costs between ecosystems of Service Providers. As the infrastructure becomes more critical yet inevitably more complex, the role of informing and reporting (OSS) systems need to evolve to become a more integral part of the systems fabric of the networks being re-written by software.
