Many companies use network location as a factor when granting access to sensitive resources. Access from networks in corporate offices is inherently trusted across all layers of the stack, often rendering logical security controls only as effective as the company's ability to prevent shoulder surfing into the building. The most well-known solution is Google’s BeyondCorp. We'll review the Location Independent Security Approach (LISA), Netflix's method for addressing this problem, including benefits, implementation, and lessons learned.
