STEP 2: Job Profile
The name of this company is USAA, and I am looking to be hired as an intern - attorney -
college hire program. The job description and purpose of this job is to compile legal
documentation; under direction may provide input on matters of routine complexity. The job
duties are as listed, obtains general knowledge regarding relevant business, industry, and area of
legal specialty, observes and may contribute to a variety of routine to moderately complex legal
assignments, conducts legal research, and assists attorneys in providing legal services, and
observes and provides input on routine negotiations, drafting, and document creation. I do not
see any salary information listed in the advertisement, but after doing some research I have found
that this type of job usually pays anywhere from nothing to fifty dollars an hour. This job is
usually sought after for experience in the field so that they can get into a law school or get hired
after they graduate law school, so the amount of pay one would get is very unpredictable. This
job requires the applicant to be pursuing a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, to have
knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, the ability to participate in a full-time (40 hours a week)
summer internship, and that the applicant is expected to graduate law school in August of 2015
or later. I meet the second and third qualifications listed, which are knowledge of Microsoft
office tools and the time requirements listed. Also the applicant preferably needs to be in their
second year of law school and be in the top twenty five percent of their class. In reference to
these preferred requirements I meet neither. The qualifications that I lack all hinge on being in
law school, which in time I will meet this requirement. One of the preferred requirements of
being in the top twenty five percent of my law school class will definitely be a challenge, but one
that I will work towards. This job is not one that I will be pursuing in the immediate future or
even right after I graduate with a bachelors degree. Instead this job, I believe, is a reoccurring
summer internship position that I could apply for in a year or two so it is completely relevant to
my career aspirations. The career outlook for this job is decent because there is a ten percent
increase in job availability which is average. Research says that there are more people graduating
from law school than jobs available in this career, but this is normal and most likely will not
affect an inter who is not receiving monetary compensation for time and effort spent. This job
position is located in San Antonio, Texas, which would make interning there during the summer
more difficult. The advertisement listed that the company receive awards for member service,
employee well-being and financial strength, list core values of service, loyalty, honesty, and
integrity, and also discusses that they offer one of the best benefits packages in the business.

STEP 2: Job Profile
The name of this company is Santander Consumer USA Inc., and the job title is corporate
legal intern. The job description states, “Are you a law student with a strong desire to
understand corporate law? Do you find financial and transaction law, bankruptcy, and
commercial litigation intriguing? Well you may be a good fit for our corporate legal internship.
We are looking for first and second year law students interested in moving into corporate law. As
part of our summer internship program, you will enjoy: full time paid summer internship,
executive networking, fun corporate events, corporate mentor, training and development, peer
networking, potential for fall/spring work opportunities, potential job placement after
graduation.” This advertisement does mention that the person will reason full time pay, but does
not give a number or estimate. As I stated in my last job profile, after doing some research I have
found that this type of job usually pays anywhere from nothing to fifty dollars an hour. An
internship is usually sought after for experience in the field so that the person can get into a law
school or get hired after they graduate law school, so the amount of pay one would get is very
unpredictable. The basic qualifications of this job require the applicant to be a current law
student, they must be able to commit to working at least twelve consecutive weeks during the
summer (end of May through the first week in August), and must be willing to participate in all
intern activities throughout the summer. The preferred qualifications are that the student has
prior experience in corporate law and coursework in corporate law. The qualifications that I
would be able to meet would be the time based qualifications, but all the other qualifications are
related to being in law school and having knowledge of corporate law. I will meet these
requirements by graduating with my bachelor’s degree and then going to law school. The career
outlook for this job is decent, as I mentioned in the last job profile, because there is a ten percent
increase in job availability which is average. Research says that there are more people graduating
from law school than jobs available in this career, but this is normal and most likely will not
affect an inter who is not receiving monetary compensation for time and effort spent. This job
position is located in Dallas, Texas, which is close to my home town and would make it fairly
easy to work for this company. The working conditions of this company are not listed and the
only thing that I noticed is that you would get to attend fun corporate events, also you can
presume that this job would require forty or more hours a week because there will be many
activities to attend plus it is a full time job.

STEP 2: Job Profile
The name of this company is Bell Helicopter, and the position I am seeking is legal
intern. The job description states that Bell Helicopter is seeking students for a 2015 summer
internship interested in learning how the legal department of a multi-billion dollar helicopter
company operates. This may include attending negotiations, draft and review agreements, and
participate in internal meetings with a variety of clients, participate in many areas of practice
handled by Bell Helicopter’s legal department including: government contracts, commercial
contracts, litigation, labor & employment and intellectual property, and work with members of
management to receive assignments and make recommendations for improvements. Also it states
that this job is an entry level part time job in the legal career. There is no salary information
listed in the advertisement, and I presume that this job is just a learning experience for students
so they can put it on their resume and learn about the profession. Researching internships and the
usual pay received, I would say that the amount is unpredictable and a lot of times non-existing.
Some interns get paid a good amount if they are at a very profitable company while others get
paid a little above minimum wage, also as I have already stated, a good amount of interns do not
get paid. The qualifications and requirements include that the applicant must be a full time
student pursuing a Juris Doctorate with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and sixty credit hours earned,
and have taken technical course, be familiar with Microsoft Office suite, and have good
interpersonal and organizational skills. The qualifications that I meet depends on the meaning of
one of the requirements, if qualification of pursuing a Juris Doctorate means already in law
school with sixty hours under my belt than I do not meet the first three requirements. If this is
referring to undergraduate than I would meet all of the requirements listed. I will meet these
requirements, if it is referring to being in law school, by applying to law school, getting in, then
studying hard to make sure my GPA does not drop below the required level. The career outlook
for this job is decent, as I mentioned in the last two job profiles, because there is a ten percent
increase in job availability which is average. Research says that there are more people graduating
from law school than jobs available in this career, but this is normal and most likely will not
affect an inter who is not receiving monetary compensation for time and effort spent. But one
thing that is different about this job is that I know the company and I can say that it will still be
in business by the time I able to meet the requirements. This job position is located in Fort
Worth, Texas, which is close to my home town and would make traveling to the job location
easy enough to attend if I wanted to. The working conditions of this job are not listed, besides a
description and that it is part time.
STEP 3: Job Search Reflection
This job search has helped me become aware of how many intern job positions are
available in Texas and more specifically the Dallas area. Every job advertisement that I listed
was an intern position because that will be the next step in advancing my career. Each one of
these intern positions could help me get the experience and gather the connections necessary to
land a job as soon as I graduate law school. Out of the three intern positions that I listed, I would
first apply to the Bell Helicopter company. I would do this my submitting my resume with a
cover letter that is designed to show my organizational and interpersonal skills. My resume
shows that I have been involved in several groups that could emphasize my ability to
communicate with others. By the time that I am ready to apply for this position, it will take a few
years assuming that I have to complete two years of law school first (60 credit hours), I will have
more group involvement to put on my resume and more skills and abilities acquired to build a
better cover letter. This job is a great match for me because the company knows that it would be
an entry level job designed to give students experience, which is what I’ll need to land a great
job. Plus this company has an outstanding name and having worked for them would definitely be
a resume booster.

John A. Flygare
Attorney
Jones, Flygare, Brown & Wharton, P.C.
1600 Civic Center Plaza, P.O. Box 2426
Lubbock, Texas 79408
Dear Mr. Flygare,
I am a first year Law student at Texas Tech University an am writing to apply for an internship at
your law firm. I discovered your firm by doing an internet search. Interning at your law firm
would allow me to advance my skills in civil litigation and my commitment in law, and I feel
that I could contribute significantly to the work of your office while sharpening the skills needed
for a career in law.
As a first year law student and graduate of Texas Tech University I have acquired the skill to be
able to work in teams, becoming a leader of a team that revolutionized the study abroad
marketing approach which increased student traveling overseas. Also, I helped run a state wide
political science poll that discovered a significant change in public opinion towards political
issues facing Texas. I am a University Studies graduate, so I familiar working with complex
problems and finding solutions or a new research outlook on the topic.
I have interned for a public defender in Kaufman Texas, where I assisted attorneys and got a
familiarity of the profession. I have also had a few other technical jobs that instilled in me hard
work, dedication, and the ability to think critically.
This position would help me acquire the skills necessary to succeed in litigation law. I have
included my resume highlighting my work experience, education, and achievements. I hope to
have the opportunity to come in for an interview for the internship position, and I will call within
a week to set up an appointment to speak with you. Thank you in advance for your time and
consideration.
Sincerely,
Brandon James Robinson.
(Letter of Recommendation)
To whom it may concern:
I have known Brandon Robinson for over 5 years and have found him to be a trust-
worthy, honest and ethical individual. Brandon, over the past few summers, has worked with me
on several projects and I have been very satisfied with his work ethic and work product. Over
the past few years, I have seen his work product improve significantly as he has matured with his
college studies and took on more responsibilities.
Brandon approaches projects with a systematic and strategic approach to reaching the end
result. Brandon is very articulate, timely, respectful and inquisitive during each project. These
are good qualities that are hard to find in young students/professionals today and qualities that I
think would make Brandon an excellent candidate for this job.
I would highly recommend that you accept Brandon Robinson into your program. I have
encouraged Brandon to pursue a law degree and I would encourage you to accept him into your
program. Brandon has overcome many adversities throughout his young life and has made him
stronger and would make him good candidate for your program.
Sincerely,

Career Goals Paper
Long-Term Goals
There is one long-term career goal that I have been thinking about since I started college,
and that is becoming a partner of a law firm. This goal is easily measured and identifiable, when
I become a partner of a law firm I will know if I met my goal or not. This goal is definitely a
long-term goal because it is not possible for me to reach it in less than a year and would be very
impressive if I could even reach it in twenty years. I would consider myself a partner if I
was joint owners and business directors of the law firm. I would say that in order to meet my
goal I would liked to have become a partner by the time I was fifty, but as long as I reached it
before sixty I would still say that my goal was reached on time. But in order for me to reach this
goal I would have to first get into law school, make good enough grades to graduate law school,
and then pass the bar to officially become a lawyer in Texas. After becoming a lawyer, or during
law school, I would need to create a network of people in order to get myself a job or be able to
find a job from knowing one person willing and able to help get me hired or hire me. I would
then need to put in a lot of grunt work and slowly work my way towards becoming a partner. I
could also take a different route which involves starting a law firm with a partner. In order to do
this I would need to create a close connection with the potential partner, and also create a vast
amount social connections and a reputation, so that when I started the new law firm I would have
employees ready to work and help with the work load and customers so that I could pay rent and
other costs including paying my employees. This goal means a significant amount to me, I have
dreamed about being a lawyer my whole life. Becoming a lawyer period is a crucial step, and
being a partner of a law firm to me shows success in the field. I do not have to be fancy rich or
overtly well known, I would just like to be independent and well off. If I were not to become a
partner but still end up being successful in my own eyes, then I would be happy. Being a partner
means a lot to me, but it is not crucial enough to control my whole life.
Short-Term Goals
In order to become a partner of a law firm, I will most likely have to get hired by
someone. This entails applying for a job and getting interviewed for the job. Accordingly, a
short-term goal of mine is to become prepared for any type of interview thrown my way. I plan
on meeting this goal by reviewing the rubric that was sent to me during the mock interview
assignment. Also, I will do more research to find out what other possible questions might be
asked during an interview so I can formulate responses that a future employer will want to here.
During the mock interview I was not able to quickly think of the best answer possible to the
questions I was asked, but if I research and find the best answer to a vast amount of questions I
will know how to answer those questions adequately. Plus I will have a better chance at
answering questions that I did not specifically formulate answers to, because through this process
I will be more in touch with myself. I now know, from the little research I have already done, to
give examples for each strength and weakness that you use during the interview, and to always
answer the questions in a positive way.
Some more short term goals that I have are, finishing my law school applications and
submitting them to the law schools I would like to attend. Making all A’s in my classes by
organizing my time efficiently and give each assignment the time needed to make the best grade
possible. Research and find out how I am going to pay for law school. Find an internship before
my first year of law school and each of the following years to build work experience. Create
friends while in law school and relationships with students and employers so that when I
graduate law school I will have a job lined up. I also have a somewhat longer goal that still needs
to be accomplished before becoming a partner of a firm, and it is to pass the Bar exam by
dedicating the appropriate time each semester actually learning the material and not just
cramming for the exams.
Goals Conclusion
I selected these goals because they are essential to reaching my long-term goal of
becoming a partner of a law firm. Being able to impress and employer during the interviewing
process is very important in landing any job, especially if I wanted to land a job I really wanted.
The knowledge gained from researching and creating answers to possible interview questions
will help be able to sharpen my elevator speech and conversations at work related social
gatherings, because I will be more comfortable with my own strengths and weaknesses and other
personal information that an individual does not think about on a day to day basis. The other
goals that I listed are all essential to reaching my long term goal, especially passing the bar
exam. I will improve my skills and experiences to reach this goal by research, hard work, and
dedication. Each one of these goals will take time to reach, and the only way I can reach them is
by constantly thinking about them and pursuing them every day.
This class has helped me in so many ways and introduced me to the very first short-term
goal that I listed. Before this class I have never prepared for an interview and definitely did not
know how to. This class has given me the opportunity to learn and be introduced to ways I can
sharpen my skills that will land me my dream job. Also, it has helped me create and perfect
documents like my resume that are crucial to getting any job and especially more competitive
jobs like the ones I will be pursuing. My long-term goal of becoming a partner of a law firm,
although not impossible, would have been basically out of reach if I never took this class; it has
opened my mind up to the skills necessary to get a job and most importantly that the skills
needed can definitely be sharpened and perfected.

STEP 2: Job Profile The name of this company is USAA, and I am looking to be hired as an intern - attorney - college hire program. The job description and purpose of this job is to compile legal documentation; under direction may provide input on matters of routine complexity. The job duties are as listed, obtains general knowledge regarding relevant business, industry, and area of legal specialty, observes and may contribute to a variety of routine to moderately complex legal assignments, conducts legal research, and assists attorneys in providing legal services, and observes and provides input on routine negotiations, drafting, and document creation. I do not see any salary information listed in the advertisement, but after doing some research I have found that this type of job usually pays anywhere from nothing to fifty dollars an hour. This job is usually sought after for experience in the field so that they can get into a law school or get hired after they graduate law school, so the amount of pay one would get is very unpredictable. This job requires the applicant to be pursuing a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, to have knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, the ability to participate in a full-time (40 hours a week) summer internship, and that the applicant is expected to graduate law school in August of 2015 or later. I meet the second and third qualifications listed, which are knowledge of Microsoft office tools and the time requirements listed. Also the applicant preferably needs to be in their second year of law school and be in the top twenty five percent of their class. In reference to
  • 5. these preferred requirements I meet neither. The qualifications that I lack all hinge on being in law school, which in time I will meet this requirement. One of the preferred requirements of being in the top twenty five percent of my law school class will definitely be a challenge, but one that I will work towards. This job is not one that I will be pursuing in the immediate future or even right after I graduate with a bachelors degree. Instead this job, I believe, is a reoccurring summer internship position that I could apply for in a year or two so it is completely relevant to my career aspirations. The career outlook for this job is decent because there is a ten percent increase in job availability which is average. Research says that there are more people graduating from law school than jobs available in this career, but this is normal and most likely will not affect an inter who is not receiving monetary compensation for time and effort spent. This job position is located in San Antonio, Texas, which would make interning there during the summer more difficult. The advertisement listed that the company receive awards for member service, employee well-being and financial strength, list core values of service, loyalty, honesty, and integrity, and also discusses that they offer one of the best benefits packages in the business. 2. As I stated in my last job profile, after doing some research I have found that this type of job usually pays anywhere from nothing to fifty dollars an hour. An internship is usually sought after for experience in the field so that the person can get into a law school or get hired after they graduate law school, so the amount of pay one would get is very unpredictable. The basic qualifications of this job require the applicant to be a current law
  • 7. student, they must be able to commit to working at least twelve consecutive weeks during the summer (end of May through the first week in August), and must be willing to participate in all intern activities throughout the summer. The preferred qualifications are that the student has prior experience in corporate law and coursework in corporate law. The qualifications that I would be able to meet would be the time based qualifications, but all the other qualifications are related to being in law school and having knowledge of corporate law. I will meet these requirements by graduating with my bachelor’s degree and then going to law school. The career outlook for this job is decent, as I mentioned in the last job profile, because there is a ten percent increase in job availability which is average. Research says that there are more people graduating from law school than jobs available in this career, but this is normal and most likely will not affect an inter who is not receiving monetary compensation for time and effort spent. This job position is located in Dallas, Texas, which is close to my home town and would make it fairly easy to work for this company. The working conditions of this company are not listed and the only thing that I noticed is that you would get to attend fun corporate events, also you can presume that this job would require forty or more hours a week because there will be many activities to attend plus it is a full time job. 3. The job description states that Bell Helicopter is seeking students for a 2015 summer internship interested in learning how the legal department of a multi-billion dollar helicopter company operates. This may include attending negotiations, draft and review agreements, and participate in internal meetings with a variety of clients, participate in many areas of practice handled by Bell Helicopter’s legal department including: government contracts, commercial contracts, litigation, labor & employment and intellectual property, and work with members of management to receive assignments and make recommendations for improvements. Also it states that this job is an entry level part time job in the legal career. There is no salary information listed in the advertisement, and I presume that this job is just a learning experience for students so they can put it on their resume and learn about the profession. Researching internships and the usual pay received, I would say that the amount is unpredictable and a lot of times non-existing. Some interns get paid a good amount if they are at a very profitable company while others get paid a little above minimum wage, also as I have already stated, a good amount of interns do not
  • 9. get paid. The qualifications and requirements include that the applicant must be a full time student pursuing a Juris Doctorate with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and sixty credit hours earned, and have taken technical course, be familiar with Microsoft Office suite, and have good interpersonal and organizational skills. The qualifications that I meet depends on the meaning of one of the requirements, if qualification of pursuing a Juris Doctorate means already in law school with sixty hours under my belt than I do not meet the first three requirements. If this is referring to undergraduate than I would meet all of the requirements listed. I will meet these requirements, if it is referring to being in law school, by applying to law school, getting in, then studying hard to make sure my GPA does not drop below the required level. The career outlook for this job is decent, as I mentioned in the last two job profiles, because there is a ten percent increase in job availability which is average. Research says that there are more people graduating from law school than jobs available in this career, but this is normal and most likely will not affect an inter who is not receiving monetary compensation for time and effort spent. But one thing that is different about this job is that I know the company and I can say that it will still be in business by the time I able to meet the requirements. This job position is located in Fort Worth, Texas, which is close to my home town and would make traveling to the job location easy enough to attend if I wanted to. The working conditions of this job are not listed, besides a description and that it is part time. STEP 3: Job Search Reflection This job search has helped me become aware of how many intern job positions are available in Texas and more specifically the Dallas area. Every job advertisement that I listed was an intern position because that will be the next step in advancing my career. Each one of these intern positions could help me get the experience and gather the connections necessary to land a job as soon as I graduate law school. Out of the three intern positions that I listed, I would
  • 10. first apply to the Bell Helicopter company. I would do this my submitting my resume with a cover letter that is designed to show my organizational and interpersonal skills. My resume shows that I have been involved in several groups that could emphasize my ability to communicate with others. By the time that I am ready to apply for this position, it will take a few years assuming that I have to complete two years of law school first (60 credit hours), I will have more group involvement to put on my resume and more skills and abilities acquired to build a better cover letter. This job is a great match for me because the company knows that it would be an entry level job designed to give students experience, which is what I’ll need to land a great job. Plus this company has an outstanding name and having worked for them would definitely be a resume booster.

Box 2426 Lubbock, Texas 79408 Dear Mr. Flygare, I am a first year Law student at Texas Tech University an am writing to apply for an internship at your law firm. I discovered your firm by doing an internet search. Interning at your law firm would allow me to advance my skills in civil litigation and my commitment in law, and I feel that I could contribute significantly to the work of your office while sharpening the skills needed for a career in law. As a first year law student and graduate of Texas Tech University I have acquired the skill to be able to work in teams, becoming a leader of a team that revolutionized the study abroad marketing approach which increased student traveling overseas. Also, I helped run a state wide political science poll that discovered a significant change in public opinion towards political issues facing Texas. I am a University Studies graduate, so I familiar working with complex problems and finding solutions or a new research outlook on the topic. I have interned for a public defender in Kaufman Texas, where I assisted attorneys and got a familiarity of the profession. I have also had a few other technical jobs that instilled in me hard work, dedication, and the ability to think critically. This position would help me acquire the skills necessary to succeed in litigation law. I have included my resume highlighting my work experience, education, and achievements. I hope to have the opportunity to come in for an interview for the internship position, and I will call within a week to set up an appointment to speak with you. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Brandon James Robinson.
  • 15. (Letter of Recommendation) To whom it may concern: I have known Brandon Robinson for over 5 years and have found him to be a trust- worthy, honest and ethical individual. Brandon, over the past few summers, has worked with me on several projects and I have been very satisfied with his work ethic and work product. Over the past few years, I have seen his work product improve significantly as he has matured with his college studies and took on more responsibilities. Brandon approaches projects with a systematic and strategic approach to reaching the end result. Brandon is very articulate, timely, respectful and inquisitive during each project. These are good qualities that are hard to find in young students/professionals today and qualities that I think would make Brandon an excellent candidate for this job. I would highly recommend that you accept Brandon Robinson into your program. I have encouraged Brandon to pursue a law degree and I would encourage you to accept him into your program. Brandon has overcome many adversities throughout his young life and has made him stronger and would make him good candidate for your program. • 16. Career Goals Paper Long-Term Goals There is one long-term career goal that I have been thinking about since I started college, and that is becoming a partner of a law firm. This goal is easily measured and identifiable, when I become a partner of a law firm I will know if I met my goal or not. This goal is definitely a long-term goal because it is not possible for me to reach it in less than a year and would be very impressive if I could even reach it in twenty years. I would consider myself a partner if I was joint owners and business directors of the law firm. I would say that in order to meet my goal I would liked to have become a partner by the time I was fifty, but as long as I reached it before sixty I would still say that my goal was reached on time. But in order for me to reach this goal I would have to first get into law school, make good enough grades to graduate law school, and then pass the bar to officially become a lawyer in Texas. After becoming a lawyer, or during law school, I would need to create a network of people in order to get myself a job or be able to find a job from knowing one person willing and able to help get me hired or hire me. I would then need to put in a lot of grunt work and slowly work my way towards becoming a partner. I could also take a different route which involves starting a law firm with a partner. In order to do this I would need to create a close connection with the potential partner, and also create a vast amount social connections and a reputation, so that when I started the new law firm I would have employees ready to work and help with the work load and customers so that I could pay rent and other costs including paying my employees. This goal means a significant amount to me, I have dreamed about being a lawyer my whole life. Becoming a lawyer period is a crucial step, and being a partner of a law firm to me shows success in the field. I do not have to be fancy rich or overtly well known, I would just like to be independent and well off. If I were not to become a
  • 17. partner but still end up being successful in my own eyes, then I would be happy. Being a partner means a lot to me, but it is not crucial enough to control my whole life. Short-Term Goals In order to become a partner of a law firm, I will most likely have to get hired by someone. This entails applying for a job and getting interviewed for the job. Accordingly, a short-term goal of mine is to become prepared for any type of interview thrown my way. I plan on meeting this goal by reviewing the rubric that was sent to me during the mock interview assignment. Also, I will do more research to find out what other possible questions might be asked during an interview so I can formulate responses that a future employer will want to here. During the mock interview I was not able to quickly think of the best answer possible to the questions I was asked, but if I research and find the best answer to a vast amount of questions I will know how to answer those questions adequately. Plus I will have a better chance at answering questions that I did not specifically formulate answers to, because through this process I will be more in touch with myself. I now know, from the little research I have already done, to give examples for each strength and weakness that you use during the interview, and to always answer the questions in a positive way. Some more short term goals that I have are, finishing my law school applications and submitting them to the law schools I would like to attend. Making all A’s in my classes by organizing my time efficiently and give each assignment the time needed to make the best grade possible. Research and find out how I am going to pay for law school. Find an internship before my first year of law school and each of the following years to build work experience. Create friends while in law school and relationships with students and employers so that when I graduate law school I will have a job lined up. I also have a somewhat longer goal that still needs to be accomplished before becoming a partner of a firm, and it is to pass the Bar exam by
  • 18. dedicating the appropriate time each semester actually learning the material and not just cramming for the exams. Goals Conclusion I selected these goals because they are essential to reaching my long-term goal of becoming a partner of a law firm. Being able to impress and employer during the interviewing process is very important in landing any job, especially if I wanted to land a job I really wanted. The knowledge gained from researching and creating answers to possible interview questions will help be able to sharpen my elevator speech and conversations at work related social gatherings, because I will be more comfortable with my own strengths and weaknesses and other personal information that an individual does not think about on a day to day basis. The other goals that I listed are all essential to reaching my long term goal, especially passing the bar exam. I will improve my skills and experiences to reach this goal by research, hard work, and dedication. Each one of these goals will take time to reach, and the only way I can reach them is by constantly thinking about them and pursuing them every day. This class has helped me in so many ways and introduced me to the very first short-term goal that I listed. Before this class I have never prepared for an interview and definitely did not know how to. This class has given me the opportunity to learn and be introduced to ways I can sharpen my skills that will land me my dream job. Also, it has helped me create and perfect documents like my resume that are crucial to getting any job and especially more competitive jobs like the ones I will be pursuing. My long-term goal of becoming a partner of a law firm, although not impossible, would have been basically out of reach if I never took this class; it has opened my mind up to the skills necessary to get a job and most importantly that the skills needed can definitely be sharpened and perfected.
