5. CONCEPT, PROCESS
The design in Pera District, close
to the location of Refik Saydam
Street.
By keeping the distance between
futurist building and historic build-
ings, this could bring a new lease
of life inspired by modern architec-
ture.
Abstract and conceptual dimen-
sions of performing art center,
designed in a form inspired by a
futuristic approach.
According to nearby by surround-
ings, the project district need an art
center, theater or opera buildings
which is needed to increase cultural
activity to the community.
Istanbul Pera Performance center
composed with main theatre hall,
small
theater hall, a restaurant, dance hall
and landscape design which have
amphitheater standing along the
roof theater hall.

The area between İstiklal Street,Te-
pebaşı have a significant potencial
for a cultural center.
This area creates a continuous flow
between the districts. This flow has
been taken as the heart of project
for the generation of cultural inter-
sections.

23. EXTENSION OF THE VITALI HAKKO
FASHION DESIGN ACADEMY
Vitali Hakko fashion design academy designed as a
fashion school and fashion incubator. usage area
as a academy, fashıon retail , incubator and fashion
show. 3-year fashion academy programme con-
sist of learning the fundamentals of professional
draping,patternmaking, and sewing techniques.
Also students have computer-aided design (cad)
and learn how to take a design from concept to
finished garment.
Vitali Hakko Fashion Design Academy programme
consist of fashion design, fashion business man-
agement,styling, textile marketing, production
management and photography.
The fashion zone is an incubator for fashion-in-
spired businesses. fashion zone helps launch fash-
ion start-ups.
Vitali Hakko Fashion Incubator (VHFI) is intensive
program offering emerging designers tools and
guidance to take their businesses to the next level.
Housed ina 640 metre-square, the space includes
shared work spaces,individual workspaces,retail
and education space and manufacturing.
The main idea is sharing space as a common usage

particioant. Incubator provides business- building
programs, educational seminars, master classes,

the Fashion Incubator and Fashion design
academy. Incubator has a retail area which
can be seen from entrance of the academy.
And showcase of retail building was designed
in front of the buildign which is looking to
the clothes without entrance to the academy.

Zone(ıncubator) has a 2 entrance gate where
is located from the inside and outside of the
academy. Fashion Zone has a meeting room,
shared and individual workspace, retail area
and offices in the first floor.
In the second floor there is sewing stu-
dio, draping lab, storage and workshop
area. Fashion zone housed in an 450 me-
tre-square.
The VHFI (fashion Incubator) is a business
development program designed to support
the next generation of fashion designers in
Istanbul. By offering low-cost design studio
space, educational seminars and networking
opprtunities the program provides a way for
participants or student who is from the acad-
emy
to reach their full potential and become an
integral part of the fashion academy.
In Academy students have opportunities free
working area, studios and lab. working area
designed in the historical walls which is re-
mained from the unkapanı mill.
Steel construction designed with the his-
torical ruins. Fashion show, seminar room,
studios and lecture class is designed steel
construction which has minimum interaction
with the remains walls.

26. TRANSITION BETWEEN TWO WINGS OF THE SCHOOL
Main entrance of the building in which lead to School’s two- storey
Northwest Wing, where located library and student’s individual
workspaces. Other transition from entrance lobby contains cafeteria,
sewing lab, draping lab, desing studıo, patternmaking lab and fabric
storage. Entrance block enclosed in glass and steel.
ABSTRACT
the basic idea of synthesis is consisted of two parts:
- organizing the establishment in different functional unit s
- to design concept which is continue the fluidity between units.
the main goal is a harmanious integration of the building into the land-
scape,
a design process focusing on the crucial relationship between people,
historical place, education and retail area.
