Our competitors are the likes of WGSN who focus on reporting and analysing current trends, which makes the service more about trend information rather than trend forecasting. Trendstop strive to be a unique trend forecasting service by focussing on analysing trend and 90% of our website is devoted to this. We are an online trend book, which allows us to be updated on a daily basis which creates a more accurate and up to date service than a traditional trend book
Jaana studied at Central St Martins and started her career by drawing CAD shapes for fashion designers. She was a forerunner in the use of CAD designs in fashion and went on to develop new CAD programmes and train designers to use the systems. In response to this demand Janna set up a company which sold a library of shapes, which could be manipulated to create unique designs. (Some of the first customers were River Island and Marks & Spencer) These shapes changed according to the outfits that were popular on the catwalks, which alerted the need for a forecasting service that could provide shapes and information as early indicators of fashion trends. Trendstop has over 100 freelancers constantly updating our image library from cities all over the world. Our Trendstop forecasters are looking for the new trends emerging from catwalks, street style, stores and arts projects from around the globe. All the images that are collected are analysed for trend, and our strong technology support helps us to provide a robust and up to date computer system that is constantly updated and developed.
The companies that use our company do so for a variety of end uses. In consumer technology companies, designers are consulting the site for fashion colours, textures and patterns to keep them up to date with their customers wants and needs. Media agencies have signed up to our site to use the information we provide to strengthen their advertising campaigns and messages.
