5. Look out for double prices –
usually if you spend more than
the first amount you will get the
second figure as a discount!
Haggling is not acceptable
in malls, shopping centres,
and department stores.
BUT, many places have
great discounts…
7. Even in restaurants!
It is acceptable to negotiate a price before you
order your food BUT Don’t try and change the
price AFTER the meal!
8. Places Where You
Can Haggle:
Markets
Restaurants
Small Stores
Street Vendors
Gift Shops
9. Tips
Don’t start bartering for something
unless you intend to buy
Your first offer should be around
10% of the asking price
You should expect to finally pay
around 25% of the initial price.
10. Tips 2
To overcome language problems,
write the numbers or key them
into a calculator / phone.
Don’t lose your temper – Smile!
Be aware of how much you
are actually haggling about.
If you cannot agree on a price, walk away.
