I am writing this letter of recommendation for Bonita Crowe based on her time reporting to me as the
Board President of the Heartland Youth Choir from 2015-16. During this time, Bonita served as HYC’s
first ever Director of Marketing and Development.
The first trait that comes to mind when thinking of Bonita is her infections enthusiasm. From her first
day with our organization to her last, Bonita brought tremendous energy and excitement to her work.
Bonita’s role with HYC required her to collaborate on a regular basis with board members, volunteers
and other staff members. These people always walked away from these interactions excited by Bonita’s
enthusiasm. Simply put: Bonita is fun to work with, which is no small thing!
Beyond this, Bonita drove significant results for HYC. During her time with us, Bonita drove our social
media presence to new heights, greatly enhancing our reach and surpassing the numbers of our
competitors. In addition, Bonita proved to be very adept at event management and promotion. Her
work was directly responsible for HYC participating in several events for the first time. We appeared on
several local news programs promoting HYC events. She also helped manage our first ever annual
fundraising event at a local Jazz club.
I am convinced that Bonita would be a great asset for another organization in any role in Marketing,
Events Management or Promotion. Bonita’s enthusiasm, positive attitude, and willingness to put herself
in uncomfortable and new situations to learn new skills will continue to set her apart in her career.
