First published 11 years ago Rock sound is a British rock magazine with a target audience of young adults
and anyone who loves rock music.
Rock sound specialises in breaking new music before any other magazine.
Sonic publishing are based in London.
Sonic publishing produce magazines such as Artrocker, Behind The Sofa, ClickMusic and many others.
Sonic publishing are not apart of a conglomerate. This shows that they are daring enough to take on big
publishing houses such as Time Inc.
I wouldn‘t want Sonic publishing to produce my magazine as they seem very unknown as o
couldn‘t find any sales figures or anything about them on Wikipedia yet they publish a very
successful magazine.
3. Time Inc
They have over 90 brands and 50 global offices showing that they are big company
and capable of branching out successfully into many different types of media.
Time inc have been publishing media products for a very long time they published
newspapers on things such as the civil rights movement and hurricane Katrina. This
shows that they have been successful enough in order to be still running.
They publish many different categories of media such as Business and Technology,
Entertainment, Fashion and Beauty, Food and Wine, Home and Design, Luxury,
News, Sports and Fitness and Travel. This shows that they are in many different
markets and are appealing to many different target audiences allowing them to
bring out many different types of media.
Time Inc use digital magazines allowing them to connect with the new generation
and keeping up with the times making sure that they can be as relevant as possible.
4. Time Inc history
Time inc have been publishing since before 1922 this shows that they have plenty of experience in the media industry
which is why I would like them to publish my magazine as they would be able to help project my magazine better than
any other publishing house.
5. Baurer Media
Baurer media are the largest publisher in Europe. They have branched out in to
many types of magazines such as Kerrang and heat magazine. Baurer is also multi
platform allowing it to gain a wide range of supporters. They have many different
forms of media such as TV and radio.
The revenue what they made in 2013 was approximately 2.4 billion euros.
Baurer media have multi platforms in order to try and keep its audience interested
and the way they do this is by offering digital copies of their magazines. This tactic is
used in order to try and keep all of its audience interested in the magazine and
allows the publishing house to widen its demographic.

• Baurer media have many different ways in order to keep its revenue stream flowing one of these ways is that
they sell their magazines on places such as iTunes and Google Play.
• Baurer media publish many different types of magazines so they can appeal to different target audiences so
it is easy for them to adapt if they need to.

• Baurer appeal to both male and female with heat being mainly for women and Kerrang aimed at men.
• Baurer media are a vertically growing business which means they buy small scale media outlets in order to
make themselves grow and to remove some competition.

• Baurer media have opened up into many international markets all around the world in places such as
America. This shows that they have become a global publishing house.
