Up to 3 years.
Application processing time
Within 3 months, once all required
documentation has been submitted.
Experienced business people who have a
minimum of NZD$3 million in available
funds or assets can apply for a New
Zealand residence.
Requirements
• Invest at least NZ$3 million over a
four-year period.
• 146 days spent in the country for
three out of the four-year period.
• Three years business experience
• Fluency in English
• Be younger than 65 years old.
Path 1, Option 1: Investor 2 Resident
7. Duration
Up to 3 years.
Application Processing Time
Up to 8 months, once all required
documentation has been submitted.
Path 1, Option 2: Investor 1 Resident
Experienced business people who have a
minimum of NZD$10 million in available
funds or assets can apply for a New
Zealand residence.
Requirements
• Invest at least NZ$10 million over a
three-year period.
• 88 days spent in the country for three
out of the three-year investment
period.

• No minimum number days
required.
• Business/entrepreneurs are not
confined to the business plan
• Additional visas for family
members are available

• Access to public education.

11. Requirements
Duration
• Start-up stage: 12-month work visa
• Balance stage (if success in the first year
of operation is demonstrated): 24-months
visa.
Strictly for foreign entrepreneurs looking
to launch their business in New Zealand.
Path 3: Entrepreneurship visas
• Minimum investment of NZ$100,000 in the
start up, excluding working capital.
• Clear business plan, which will be followed
closely even after the visa is approved
• Clear recent history from bankruptcy,
business failure, and fraud
• Strong health of entrepreneur
• Good character of entrepreneur
• Comfortable communicating in English
