Temporary Residency Visa
Visa requirements
Duration of Temporary
Resident Visa
• Sponsorship by a Mexican company or
institution.
• Relationship or child with a Mexican or a
foreigner who is a temporary or
permanent resident.
• Proof of savings equal to or greater than
$441,800 MXN or an income $26,508
MXN per month (can vary depending on
your nationality)
• Valid up to 4 years.
• This visa can be renewed.
• Processing time is between 5-6
weeks.

Investors Visa
Visa requirements
• Proof their investment is worth at least
$1,767,200 MXN and is invested in a
Mexican company which employs at
least 5 Mexicans.
• Proof that they are the owner of property
in Mexico that is used to conduct
business and is worth at least
$1,767,200 MXN.
Duration of Investor Visa
• Valid up to a maximum of 4 years.
• This Visa can be renewed.
• Proccessing time is between 5-6
weeks

Working Visa
Visa requirements
•They can work as long as they are hired by
a Mexican company that has the
permission from migration authorities to
hire foreigners.
•The Migration office must first approve the
job offer.
The foreigner must complete the visa
application and have an interview at a
Mexican consulate or embassy outside of
Mexico.
Duration of Working Visa
• This visa allows foreigners to live and
work in Mexico between 1-4 years.
• This visa can be renewed.
• Proccessing time is between 5-6
weeks

Next Step: Get an Official Migrant Card
Immigrant Stamp:
• Once your documents have been
approved and you have passed the
interview at a Mexican embassy or
consulate abroad you will receive a
visa stamp in your passport.
• When you arrive to the Mexican border
control, you will be given a Multiple
Migration Form (FMM) once you
present your passport with the visa
stamp.
• You will then have 30 days to go to the
Mexican Migration Office to exchange
the FMM for your official migration card.
This process is called ´Canje´.

Permanent Residency Visa
Visa requirements
Individuals who wish to live and work/retire
permanently in Mexico and meet the
following requirements:
• Lived/worked in Mexico for at least 4
years in total.
• Provide proof of funds; at least
$1,767,200 MXN or a monthly income of
at least $44,180 MXN or
• Prove that they have been in a
relationship for at least two years in
Mexico with a Mexican national.
Duration of Permanent
Residency Visa
• You do not need to renew this visa
• Processing time is between 5-6
weeks
