3. FROM THE EDITOR...
Now that I told you a little bit about myself, I want to show you a sense of my style, and show you how I’ll be
styling Back To School outfits. Throughout the July catalog and Style File you will see we are slowly transitioning
back to fall. Back to school means early mornings and late nights, so I like to pick the most comfortable clothes
in my closet; leggings, jeans, large tee shirts, cardigans and sweaters. To make my outfits stylish, I add belts,
scarves, boots (with fuzzy socks!), and other accessories to spice up my looks. Fall fashion is definitely my favorite
because it gives me a chance to layer up and have fun with my outfits every morning!
Hey Fashionistas! It’s Biyce, the Store Operations intern from Burlington
(336) writing to you all. Before I get into the styling for this month, I want to
tell you who I am and about my experience here in the NYC Home Office! I’m
18 years old and will be starting my freshman year at UMaine next year. I have
been working for dELiA*s for almost two years. I have been in the city for two
weeks now and it’s been amazing! Everyone in the office is great; they’re so nice
and welcoming. They’ve been teaching me a lot, and I couldn’t have asked for
a better way to spend my summer. I learn so much more about the business,
fashion, and New York every single day and could not be happier!
It’s been a big adjustment moving to New York from a little suburb outside
of Boston. Everything is so much bigger and faster in NYC. I’m still trying to get
used to living here and finding stuff to do (other than work) but it has been
incredible getting to know this beautiful city.
Shout out to my Burlington Team back
home! I miss you guys! xo, B

4. JEANS ARE A GREAT SUMMER TO FALL TRANSITION PIECE. MOST OF US ARE
NOT READY TO LET GO OF THE FUN SUMMER FASHION, BUT SIMPLY REPLACING
SHORTS WITH A PAIR OF JEANS WILL ALLOW YOU TO TRANSFER THOSE
SUMMER PIECES INTO FALL!
Jeans can be dressed up or down depending on what you pair them with. Whether you want to dress to
impress or have a lazy Monday morning, jeans are the go to item.
When the weather cools down you get the
opportunity to layer up your outfits in many
different ways, giving you more room to
mix and match different pieces. Accessorize
outfits with headpieces, arm candy, deep nail
colors, scarves, belts, bags, etc. and you’ll
have perfect outfits everyday. Here are some
helpful styling tips:
SKYLARS OR THE LIVS
1. Wear your summer crop top or tank top
with high waisted jeans and an oversized
cardigan for boho chic attitude.
2. No fear denim on denim! Add a chambray
shirt on top of your fave high wasited jeans.
Tie the shirt tails together, and finish the look
with a nice pair suede booties.
DENIM
5. 1. Don’t wash your jeans to often. The less frequently they
touch water, the longer the color will last.
2. If you need to wash your jeans, then wash them inside out,
in cold water and with mild detergent to preserve the color. It’s
best to let them air dry, and if they get a little stiff, you can put
them into a dryer on low heat for a few minutes to soften them
up.
3. White jeans can be washed in a warm to cold cycle, or hot
water if you have stains.
4. To get rid of odor, hang your jeans on a hanger and mist
with Febreeze to release odor. You can also put them into a
dryer with a dryer sheet.
5. Try to not machine dry denim pieces. If you have to, turn
down the temperature to the lowest possible heat setting, and
remove before they’re completely dry. Lay flat or hang upside
down to dry.
6. Add a 1/2-cup of distilled white vinegar to the final rinse
cycle while doing laundry to maintain the wash of your favorite
pair of dark jeans.

OLIVIAS, JAYDENS,
TAYLORS
1. Pair a nice top with
skinny jeans, and flats for a
pretty and polished look.
Add a scarf and stack some
bracelets together to finish
the look.
2. Distressed skinnies
look perfect with combat
boots. Pair your white tee
and top it off with a
military jacket for a go to
outfit good for any day.
*** When picking out skinny
jeans focus on fit to make sure
it fits you like a glove. You want
make sure it fits tight enough
without looking baggy.
MORGANS
1. Flannel shirts look
amazing with boot cut
jeans! Add a graphic tee
underneath and add some
Keds to get that effortless
look in the morning, while
still looking trendy.
2. Tuck a tank top or
racer back cami into your
jeans, add a nice large
cardigan, belt and throw
your hair up into a top
knot. It’s probably the most
comfortable fall outfit,
giving you a cute grungy
look. Throw on your
favorite pair of flats and
you’re ready to go!

6. Camis and tanks are a must have for ANY
season! During summer and spring they add
a great pop of color to any outfit, and can
be used to make summer outfits a little more
appropriate if they have large cutouts or an
open back. During fall or winter, they can be
used to keep you warmer as the weather is
cooling down.
Wearing them with your lace tops will
allow you to transition your summer
look into fall, while looking stylish (and
keeping you warm).
Layer them up with flannels or cham-
bray shirts, and button the shirt half
way, so you can see the tank under-
neath, but aren’t showing too much.
The options with plain tees
are endless. They can be
worn all year round for any
occasion, whether your have
a laid back day at home or
going to the movies with your
friends. Plain tees are my fa-
vorite because they are super
versitile and look great just

jacket that suits your style.

Graphics are a dELiA*s
signature. We have a whole
wall dedicated to it, and
we have different tees to
match different personalities.
Graphics are a must have
piece to fall outfits because
they are great for layering, just
pick one that fits you and put
your own style into it.
The concert tees look
amazing paired with a
leather jacket, and fitted
distressed skinny jeans.
Finish the outfit with
combat boots for an edgy
old school look.
The graphics with different
quotes are definitely
attention grabbers and
are great with cardigans,
leggings and riding boots.Chambray and flannel shirts
are a nice alternative to the
classic jacket. They still look
good paired with tees and
tanks but there’s more you
can do with them. You can
tie them in front with skirts,
or, layer them with leggings.
I love chambray shirts
with black denim jeans (or
double up the denim with
blue jeans) and flats or
boots.

7. Sweatshirts and sweaters are my go to
pieces whenever I’m feeling a little lazy.
I can not wait to go home and change
into my loose comfy sweaters after a
long day at school. There is nothing
better than grabbing that worn in
sweatshirt or sweater and feeling like
you’re in your blanket all day. Adding
a thick infinity scarf is always a great
way to be even more comfortable while
spicing up your outfit.
Jackets! Jackets! Jackets! There are
so many of them to choose from!
Military, varsity, denim, moto, bomber,
leather, cardigans the list goes on and
on! They are the outer most pieces to
any fall outfit, and pull the whole look
together!
1. Pick the perfect jacket for the
perfect outfit! If you’re feeling edgy,
add a leather jacket.
2. Sporty, go for the varsity jacket.
3. Boho, grab that oversized cardigan.
See how you’re feeling and choose
accordingly.
My ABSOLUTE favorite item
during fall and winter are
leggings!!! They feel like
sweatpants but look a lot
cuter! Love wearing them
with oversized items such
as cardigans, sweaters,
sweatshirts, flannels, etc.
Its keeps the outfit nice
and simple and give me
the opportunity to add on
accessory pieces like scarves,
beanies, long necklaces,
boots and bags making the
perfect fall outfit.
Summer is not the only time for skirts and
dresses! They are a perfect transition piece!
Adding sweater, cardigans, and tights
transforms those cute skater skirts and dresses
from summer to fall. It’s a go to alternative in
your closet for the days you want to dress up a
little more. I love wearing my skater skirts and
dresses with tights and ankle booties, or boots
with a little wedge when I go out to dinner with
friends celebrating the end of a long week.
OVER AND UNDER
Sweaters, Sweatshirts, Leggings, Dresses, and Skirts
8. The fall is the time to layer up simple items. You want a nice jacket or cardigan with a
shirt and bottoms, whether that may be leggings, jeggings, jeans, or a skirt. The key
is comfort. The accessories are what take the outfit to the next level. Whether it’s a
statement necklace or boots, accessories are a girl’s best friend and fall is the perfect
time to stack them up!
BEANIES are a great add on onto your outfit, whether your
going to school or going out with your friends. They hide any
bad hair days, keep you warm, and they’re super cute!!!
SCARVES are the perfect item to grab when you’re
rushing out of the door after sleeping in until 8am. They
add a little something to the outfit and keep you cozy
when your dozing off during class.
Putting your hair up into a topknot with a cute hairpiece,
like a headband or a bow also looks great while hiding
your bed head!
A BAG is an essential no matter where you are going. Leave
the boring black back pack at home and grab one of these
cute printed ones!
BOOTS! The go to shoe during the fall and winter.
Whether it’s riding boots or combat boot - boots are the
best! They are comfortable and they look SO good! Invest
in a nice pair of boots, it will be the first thing you grab as
you run out the door, because they go with any fall outfit.
KEDS OR CONVERSE look great with any kind of jeans,
dresses, skater skirts, or leggings. You can pair them with
any outfit. You can be sure that they won’t hurt your feet
while you’re walking from class to class.
*NOTE beanies are great for going out and school,
but please keep them off the sales floor, they don’t
meet dress code!
9. Don’t throw away
your old jeans!
Bleach or sand them
for a cute destoryed
look
Coloring on paper
is fun! Coloring
on your jeans for
the whole world to
see is even better!
