3. What is OBIEE?
• Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition
(OBIEE) is the newly packaged ad hoc and picture
perfect reporting suite from Oracle based on the
Siebel Analytics tool
• It has three main components
– Data Warehouse Modeler
– Currently Informatica but this will be changing
– BI Answers
– The ad hoc reporting tool
– BI Publisher
– The Picture Perfect reporting tool
• Each of these components are robust and complex in
their own rights and thus we will only cover the BI
Answer tool in this tutorial

• BI Answers provides a very easy to use
solution for Ad hoc reporting needs
• Coupled with BI Publisher, very complex
reports such as the PSUR or NDA Periodic
could be very easy to produce and
maintain
• Compared to Discoverer, the BI Answer
tool is more user-friendly, requires just as
much end user layer manipulation but is
far superior in the delivery of picture
perfect reports
