3. Outline of The Topic :-
ï± Introduction ,
ï± Formation of WBC ,
ï± Types of WBC ,
ï± Discuss about Types & their functions ,
ï± Diseases related with Leucocytes .
4. WHITE BLOOD CORPUSCLES
or ,
LEUCOCYTES
ï¶ White Blood Corpuscles are also known as
Leucocytes , as they are colourless due to lack of
Haemoglobin .
ï¶ There are about 6,000-8,000 mm of WBC for 1ml of
blood .
5. Formation of WBC :-
ï§ Leucocytes are formed in the Red
Bone Marrow of many bones .
ï§ They can also be formed in
lymphatic tissue .
ï§ They live for about 13-20 days .
7. Agranular or Agranulocyte :-
ïLYMPHOCYTES :
âą Smallest WBC .
âą Small amt. Of Cytoplasm .
âą Two types ,-
1) T Lymphocytes ,
2) B Lymphocytes ,
3) NK Cells .
8. ïMONOCYTES :
âą Largest of WBCs .
âą Dark kidney bean shaped
neucleous .
âą Phagocytic .
* Functions :
Monocytes are acts as antigen
processing .
9. Granular or Granulocyte :-
ï BASOPHILS :
âą Basophils are 10-15 micron in diameter .
âą they have â S â shaped neucleous .
âą The granules in the basophils contain â
Histamin â & â Heparin â .
* Function :
Basophils have inflammatory reaction .
10. ïEOSINOPHIL :
âą Large , numerous granules .
âą 2-6 % of WBC count .
âą Eosinophils are 10-15 micron in diameter .
* Function :
Eosinophils primarily deals with Parasitic
infectious and allergic reactions .
11. ïNEUTROPHIL :
âą Granules are small and numerous .
âą Highly active .
âą 65 % of WBC count .
* Function :-
Neutrophils defend against bacterial or fungal
infection .
12. Diseases Related to Leucocytes :-
ï¶ LEUKOPENIA ,
ï¶ LEUKEMIA ,
ï¶ LEUCOCYTOSIS .
