This document describes a real-time communication service called "Talk to a Librarian" that allows remote users like students and faculty at different campus locations to chat with a reference desk librarian for assistance. To use the service, remote users need an AOL Instant Messenger account and an internet connection, and the library can help install the AOL IM software. The service provides a way for remote users to get library help from off-campus or distance learning locations.
