IN JUST A FEW WORDS...
What has self-care been
looking like for you these days?

● Self care for me is sleep, outdoor walks with my dog and yoga!
● Getting outside for a walk (even when it's cold and I don't want to!), taking time to myself to
learn embroidery, and morning yoga!
● Selfcare to me is eating well and healthy.
● Doing physical activities it helps to relax and stay calm
● Respect myself and take time for care my health
● meditation or jogging!
● Sleep...eat..and repeat
● Watching anime
● For me it has been sticking on to my diet. Mainly hydrating myself more often. And also
inhaling steam to keep the sinuses open.
● meditation, gym ,walking and fishing
● Journaling
● Working out with the Beginner's Workout group at Conestoga. Keeps me accountable too!
● I love reading books for my self-care

within your own cultural communities?
● Its taboo
● Mental health was often not talked about, but now my family talks about it all the
time!
● As an indian mental health is a taboo.
● There definitely is stigma surrounding the term but there is definitely a gradual
change for the positive!
● it treated as taboo as if mind diseases are different from body
● This pandemic changed the ideologies about mental health issues
● Talking about the good and the bad of mental health
● not giving importance
● As a Pakistani, the mental health is taboo
● There is no awareness. Its not regarded as a serious issue.
