2. During the early
times, there was a
King who was
known for his
wealth and cruelty.
He had a daughter
named Guita.
Guita is known
for her beauty,
kindness and
humility. Though
she possessed and
experienced
beautiful things and
was admired by
everyone, she was
not happy.
3. Her father is not
thoughtful and
helpful to the poor
and forbade Guita
to socialize and
mingle with them.
Even strolling in
the garden is not
allowed by her
father.

One day when her
father is away, the
lady went to the
garden. She was
playing with the
flowers when she
heard the whistle
of a young man.
The young man is
Sampa, son of a
farmer. The two
became friends and
had a mutual
understanding.

Guita . In the
King’s anger,

ordered to kill
Sampa.
7. The King regret
his order to kill
Sampa because
it leads to the
death of her
daughter. To
make it up to
Guita the King
decided to
buried the
body of her
daughter to
the grave of
Sampa.
8. About three
months later, on
top of the soil of
the tomb the
beautiful, attractive
white flowers which
possesses fragrance
appears. The King
heard what
happened and to
honor the lovers he
named it
Sampaguita.
