3. Most of the fonts that I have chosen and put in my font style sheet are distressed or look
like a horror font, in some way or another. I will use the more distressed fonts with my
album cover, and magazine cover, as I want that to be the style of my products, as I think
that will fit the whole style of my band. I could use a different font for every bit of separate
information on my magazine cover. This would make my magazine cover better than just
having a few fonts that are used regularly on the cover. However I won’t use them all, as I
wouldn’t want the cover to be too overdone with lots of different fonts. When looking at
other band merchandise and album covers, I found that many of the products had similar
fonts to the ones that I have selected on my font style sheet. Especially old punk rock album
covers, their font choices were distressed, and had the letterbox style.
4. I really like this font as it reminds me of a font that you would see on a poster advertising punk rock music
at a local venue. It has that gritty, worn in look to it. One reason that I would choose this font over the
others is the fact that its very gritty looking and would fit with a rock music theme. It looks very distressed
and worn, like the font has been there for a long time. This would suit an album cover if I were to go for
that distressed look to the cover, like a punk rock album cover. One disadvantage of this font would be that
I wouldn’t be able to have a black or white background as it may clash with the font. That is unless I change
the colour of the font to something else, however I don’t think that would look that good.
One of the reasons that I like this font style so much is because its very similar to the one above it, but
cleaner. One aspect of this font that I like is the way that each letter is either higher or lower than the
other. It makes the font stand out as its not just in one straight line. I also like the fact that the font is
something similar to what you would see on a poster advertising an event. I have seen fonts similar to
this used a lot. When looking at the font it reminds me of an old rock style font.
The reason I would choose this font style to others is the fact that it has that rock band style to it and
it reminds me of the guitar hero games font that they used in the title. Its quite a messy font which
makes it one of the reasons why it looks like a rock band font choice.
5.
6. My main reason for choosing this as one of the designs that I like the most, is
because of how graphical it is. Also the colours they used are very feminine
and different from other rock bands designs. Usually rock bands would use
colours like red, black, and white. Where ‘Queens of the Stone Age’ have
used a few shades of pink with blues and purples. These colours are usually
associated with a different genre of music. This is one of the reasons that I
like this design so much.
One of the reasons that I like this album cover is because of the art
style. It looks as if it is a painting, because of how clean it looks and
smooth. I really like the way they have done this album cover. I also
like the fact that they have a character that is like a mascot for their
band, he is on almost every album cover. Another reason why I love
this album cover so much is because of how artistic it is. Usually
album covers don’t look this detailed. The cover also has a style to it
that fits in with the songs in the album. The name of the album cover
also fits the picture.
7. One of the reasons that I like this album cover, is because of the colours that
have been used. They have used a wide range of colours. The album cover also
looks very simple compared some of the other album covers that I have looked
at. This one just looks like a photo with some effect on it.
The style that I am going for is an old school metal style where the album cover looks very graphical and
sketchy. Its going to be a mix between a retro metal album, and a punk rock album. I like the style of
them, especially the ones that look older than they are. This gives the album an old retro look. My
favorite types of album covers are Iron Maidens album covers, as they all are really detailed but have a
look to them that makes them look older than the album is. I think that it’s the faded colours on the
cover that make the album look like this.
8. One of the main colours that I am planning on using is the colour red. I plan to try out a few shades of red
until I find one that suits the style that I am going for. Red is going to be the main colour that I use for my
products along with black and white, as these colours are often associated with The Rock ‘N’ Roll genre. I
will try out some other colours when designing my products, but only once I have finished the main
design. The album cover will most likely have lots of colours on it, as I am going for a very graphics based
design for the cover. I will also use lots of monochrome colours as they are often used a lot on all
products, also the fact that they are associated with the rock music genre. I could use the colour white to
contrast against the black, and make one of my products like my logo, monochrome. I could use the red to
be the accent colour of my products. So I could use black as a main colour then red and white as the
secondary colours.

The name of the
band is Rise Above
and I will place this
at the top as I will
want this to be the
first thing people
read. I will use a
very distressed
font, one that fits
the style of the
band.
The image will
be across the
whole cover, I
will either
make one using
Adobe
Photoshop or
take some
pictures and
then edit the
picture that I
want to use on
Photoshop.
The album name I
haven’t though of
yet but will be in a
distressed, punk
rock looking font.

Some Info about the CD or Vinyl
For the image I
will create a
cartoonish cover
that looks like an
old metal album
cover. The image
wont be across
the whole page as
the bars at the top
will be there, with
information.
The band name
will be big and
stretch across the
top bar. It will be
in a distressed
font to match the
style of making it
look like an old
metal or punk
rock album cover.
The name of
the album will
also be in a
distressed font
and will be on
an angle. This is
so not
everything on
the cover is
completely
organized.
Info about the CD
or vinyl like the
production
company, etc. This
will be in a neat,
readable to font
and will be quite
small, as I don’t
want it to be really
noticeable.
11. Flat Plan – Album cover version 3
Name of the album
Image
The band name
will be on a slight
angle and will be
very large so that
it stands out
from far away.
The name of the
album cover will
also be quite big
just like the name
of the band.
However, the
album name will
be stretched
across the top,
below the band
name.
The image will
be very
colourful and
will hopefully
stand out from
far away. It
will be
stretched
across the
whole, front of
the album
cover.
12. Layout 1
(Album cover)
Album name
The name of the band
will be at the top of the
album cover to draw
peoples attention to it
as well as that being
the first thing people
see and read. The
image will be across the
rest of the cover, this
will probably be
something that I make
on Photoshop then put
onto my album cover.
The name of my album
will be at the bottom,
but will be quite big so
its easy to read.
13. Layout 2 (T-Shirt design V1)
Rise Above
I will have the main image that I have created on
Adobe Photoshop at the top most center of the black
T-Shirt. Underneath the image will be the text, Rise
Above – the band name.
The Rise Above text logo will be at the top of the
T-Shirt, and below will be names of the gigs they
are playing at or have, the tour dates.
Front Back

Rise Above Text
On the back of the T-Shirt I will either have it blank or
have it so that, Rise Above is wrote across the back of
the T-Shirt. I will have it in the same font type as ‘Rise
Above’ is on my main band logo. It will be a large font.
On the front of the T-Shirt I will have the bands logo
maybe in a different colour design. It will be large so
that it stands out amongst other T-shirts.
15. Layout 3 (Logo) I like this logo the most as its quite
simple and has that punk rock look
to it. It’s also slightly distressed,
which I was hoping for. Also the
arrows pointing upwards match the
word ‘Rise’.
This is probably my least
favorite logo of the three
that I have created so far. I
think that it is too simple and
it doesn’t really stand out.
This logo I like, however it
isn’t very colourful and is a
bit too simple. If I were to
use this as my band logo, I
would probably change the
rock hand, and make it more
colourful.

will use the colour red to accent

the main colour. However, I

on the plan as it doesn’t look as
good.

Solution
May not be able to access my work the next day
as the computer that I saved it on is being used, or
the work is no longer on the computer.
Save my work to more than one place, and make sure
that the work can be accessed from more than one
place, such as a memory stick (USB) , or email the work
to your own email.
Drink spilt all over the keyboard, can cause the
keyboard to stop working and leave a mess.
Don’t drink near the computers, if you need a drink go
away from the computers.
The power could go off at any moment, therefore
people losing their work.
Make sure that you save your work every so often, so
if this does happen you can just load up the most recent
save and you don’t have to start again.
When editing my video game through Premiere
Pro CC, a file could be missing therefore it not
showing up in the video game clip.
I would the have to locate the file in my document and
make sure that it is selected when loading up Premiere
Pro and it should ask me where that file is. If I can’t find
it then I will have to use something else.
My computer could be having trouble connecting
to the Wi-Fi, and I need to work on my website.
Disconnect the Wi-Fi and then reconnect it again, and if
it still doesn’t work, switch off your computer and then
back on again and see if it has connected. If it doesn’t
work after that move computers or ask your tutor
about the problem.

Potential Issue How will the issue be avoided?
Eye Strain from looking at a computer screen for
a long time without a break.
Try to have regular breaks from your screen to give
your eyes some rest as looking at a screen for long
periods of time will put a strain on your eyes.
Back Strain from not sitting properly whilst on a
computer for a long period of time.
Sit up straight, with your shoulders level with the top
of the computer. If you are arched over your keyboard
for a long time, then your back will start to strain.
Tripping hazard, when bags are not put under the
desk or wires are out on the floor.
Make sure that people’s bags are put under the desk so
they don’t cause a tripping hazard. Also make sure that
wires are not placed out on the floor. If wires are on the
floor, tuck them behind something or make sure that
people are aware of the loose wiring.
Chairs not under desks, making them a hazard as
someone may not see it whilst walking and walk
into it.
Check that all chairs are under desks.
Electrical sockets overloaded with plugins
causing a fire hazard and unused chargers have
been left in and turned on. This could cause an
electrical fire.
Double-check that all sockets are turned off, if not in
use, and that there are know chargers plugged in if not
been used. Also make sure that there is not too many
chargers plugged into a socket as it could overload and
cause a fire.
Your back hurts as your chair is not properly
adjusted.
Make sure that your chair has an adjustable seat
height and lift your seat higher or lower so that you are
