flashback, in the first person, based upon
a triggered memory.

4. What memory?

5. Packing up the attic was always going to dredge old
memories. It was the last box to be sifted through; an
old battered card board box lay lonesome in the corner.
Coated with a thick powdery layer of dust and cobwebs,
it was unrecognisable. Lifting the lid, nostalgia hit me: a
Rington’s tea chest. Grandma.
Carefully opening the chest, I heard a tiny tinkle of an
old lullaby. Warmth filled me as a saw the perfect glass
ball sleeping, waiting to be found, peacefully in a bed of
soft cotton wool. A crackling coal fire, cups of cocoa
and Christmas carols; I associated this with all of these.
Every Friday night the globe would accompany
us to sleep. Innocent recollections came flooding back.
