• Founded: January 2007 by the management team of the International
Communication Fund (ICF)
• Supported by Concord Language School (one of the first private language schools
in Belgrade, founded in 1995)
• In 2008 Telekom Srbija was the main sponsor of the Summer School, and special
partnerships were signed.
• In 2009 Russia became our first customer, due to our agents based in Moskow
that managed to spread the BSS project over Universities and Schools.
• Over the past 9 years, over 1000 students took part in Belgrade Summer School

• ICF is a fund established under the Serbian law with the address in Belgrade, the
Republic of Serbia.
• ICF is the organizer of the Belgrade Summer School.
• Aims of the ICF are:
– building up knowledge about Serbian history, culture and language
– intercultural cooperation of young people.
– making BSS the most important educational event in Serbia

• CLS is the co-organizer of the Belgrade Summer School
• CLS is one of the oldest privately run schools of foreign languages in Belgrade.
• During the year it works as a normal private language school, with two locations
in the hearth of the city.
• During summer season, CLS is responsible for all language classes held at BSS.

• The Vision of BSS is to become a recognizable educational, cultural and social
event during the summer in Belgrade. Moreover, BSS also depicts Belgrade as a
regional centre of South-Eastern Europe and a city that is a leader in the field of
education, communication and tourism.
• The Mission of Belgrade Summer School is to enhance international
communication through socializing of young people. With references to other
summer schools throughout the world, the BSS project is conceived to contribute
to a high-level improvement of its participants in their professional, cultural and
social sense.

• BSS courses are designed in such a way that enables (our) participants to use
their acquired linguistic knowledge right away in everyday communication.
• BSS Teen: Serbian and English language courses from Beginners to Upper
Intermediate Level, for teenagers aged 12-18 (no strict age limit), with a special
organization for the Serbian Diaspora.
• BSS Student: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Greek, Russian, Arabic,
Chinese and Serbian courses from Beginners to Upper Intermediate Level, for
students aged 18-28 (no strict age limit).
• BSS Professional: English language courses - LCCI's programms (London
Chamber of Commerce and Industry) for young professionals from Serbia and
abroad aged 25-35 (no strict age limit).

• Concord school is one of the first schools in the city that has passed very strict criteria for
getting a license and a brand of Authorized centre for training and exam qualifying LCCI IQ
(London Chamber Of Commerce International Qualifications).
• Until now you had to do your exams only in foreign countries, and now we are one of the
first schools in Belgrade that allows you to get your international certificate in your town
and in your school.
• London Chamber of Commerce was founded more than 100 years ago and owns a
network of authorized centres, more than 8 000 of them all over the world. This network
has more than 500 000 students per year. All over the world LCCI certificates are known of
and accepted by many companies and universities in more than 125 countries.
• At BSS LCCI courses and certificates are available upon request
19. Activities – Half day excursions

• Kalemegdan - Belgrade Fortress
At the very beginning of BSS we will visit the fort overlooking the confluence of two rivers, the
Sava and the Danube, with an optional visit to one of the most beautiful Zoo gardens in Europe.
• Zemun - Gardoš Tower
Zemun is a picturesque part of Belgrade with a lot of history, going from Byzantine to Austro-
Hungarian times. During this workshop we will also have an optional visit to one of many rafts
on the Danube.
• Dedinje - Royal Courts
During this workshop we will visit the Royal Courts (Old and White Palace). We will have a
guided tour of this historical complex which will explain the turbulent times for the
Karađorđević Royal Family and Serbia as well.
• Dedinje - Memorial Complex Tito
Visit to the Mausoleum of the leader of the former SFR Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, who died on May
4, 1980. It is located in Dedinje. On site you can learn about "Youth Day", which was a big celebration
on May 25 (Tito's official birthday) and the regime under Communism.

• Vojvodina - Novi Sad and Fruška Gora
On this excursion we will take you to explore Serbia's Northern province:
Vojvodina. You will visit beautiful monasteries and vibrant cities!
• Šumadija - Oplenac and Topola
We are going to take you to visit the heart of Serbia - the Šumadija region. You
are going to visit the important historical site of Oplenac, which is the
mausoleum of the Serbian Karađorđević Royal Family. We will also pay a visit to
the town of Topola, where the First Serbian Uprising took place.
