Current ITOM cloud providers are missing the point with cloud. They are creating data silos by providing standalone solutions.
Against this backdrop, the traditional “war room” approach to IT operations management fails. Expert teams responsible for individual silos are rendered ineffective by the lack of ability to collaborate and their lack of visibility across rapidly-changing underlying applications.
Point-solution approaches, whether on-premises or in the cloud, exacerbate this disconnect and make it even more challenging for development, operations and support teams to provide a consistent customer experience.
Oracle has taken the time to engineer an IT operations management solution to tackle this challenge with our new Oracle Management Cloud.
Oracle Management Cloud (OMC) is a suite of next-generation, integrated monitoring, management and analytics solutions delivered as a service on Oracle Cloud. It is designed for today’s heterogeneous environments across on-premises, Oracle Cloud and third-party cloud services.
It will allow all DevOps stakeholders – whether in IT Operations, Development, Support or the line-of-business to play an active part in understanding and optimizing customer experience with their key applications.
They key to Oracle Management Cloud’s differentiation is its underlying platform.
OMC is built on a horizontally scalable big data platform with high throughput data processing for providing real-time analysis and deep insights across technical and business events. Data in OMC is automatically analyzed using machine learning and is correlated across all OMC services, thereby eliminating multiple information silos across end-user and infrastructure data, enabling faster trouble-shooting and providing the ability to run IT like a business.
Oracle then offers domain-specific services on top of this unified platform that share a common view and definition of the correlated data, eliminating information silos and allowing for comprehensive monitoring, anomaly detection and real-time insight across these huge data sets.
The first three Oracle Management Cloud Services were launched at Oracle OpenWorld 2015. They are the Application Performance Monitoring Cloud Service, the Log Analytics Cloud Service and the IT Analytics Cloud Service.
These services can be consumed individually but are especially powerful when used together.
More IT Operations-focused Oracle Management Cloud services will be introduced over time.
Oracle Log Analytics Cloud Service monitors, aggregates, indexes, and analyzes all log data from your applications and infrastructure – enabling users to search, explore, and correlate this data to troubleshoot problems faster, derive operational insight and make better decisions.
Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Service provides 360-degree insight into the performance, availability, and capacity of applications and IT investments, enabling line-of-business executives, analysts, and administrators to make critical decisions about their IT operations based on comprehensive system and data analysis.
