1. Web Application supported by Database (Solo)
Developed dynamic application, using ASP.NET,HTML5, CSS3 JavaScript and ADO.NET on
the client side, using Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web, then C# on the server side
to run events, queries and access the database.
The database was built using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and included different
tables, relationships and data types. SQL Queries were then inputted to insert, retrieve, edit and
organise what values are returned to the application from these tables.
A detailed technical document was then produced to outline the project features,project scope,
testing, technical design and future enhancement details.
Extra credits was awarded for successfully integrating the Bootstrap framework.
Garda Parking Ticket Simulator (Solo)
Created a parking ticket simulator in JAVA using JCreator with 4 different classes. The Garda
Officer class would retrieve minutes purchased for the Parked Car class from the Parking Meter
class. A Parking Ticket would be issued if the Parked Car overstayed time purchased.
Created a second object of the Garda Officer class to see if a ticket was issued, if so, a €50 fine
applied for the first half hour and €50 for every additional hour after that.
This information is all then compiled together in a String output to display the information.
A UML diagram was also submitted.
Mobile Applications (Solo)
Cloud SDK and Platforms:
Windows Platform: Designed and built mobile applications with Microsoft Visual Studio using
the C# programming language. The Windows phone emulator was then used to evaluate and test
each application.
Android Platform: Using MIT App Inventor to formulate and build applications. A blocks editor
was used to create the functions. A Samsung Galaxy 2 was used to test each of the applications.
Network Evaluation and Design for an Expanding Company (Group)
Developed a completely new, detailed and exciting network for an expanding company with
multiple branches by analysing the original network structure and current requirements,
Carried out a functional area breakdown, IP and WAN planning, Security planning and
expansion risk management planning,
Outlined advantages and disadvantages of implementing the network.
Supplied a full in-depth budget breakdown.
Provided the customer with a detailed document outlining network features and scope, including
diagrams to outline the structure.
