Festivity has rent the air and people are going all out to celebrate. The holiday season has
witnessed a great surge in travel as well. The COVID-19 restrictions for two years had muted
the festivities during this time of the year. Moreover, the pandemic has forced us to redefine
travel and be innovative in providing tourism solutions that are sustainable. World Tourism
Day was celebrated on 27th September 2022 and was aptly themed as "Rethinking Tourism".
During the celebrations, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) launched
its first World Tourism Day Report, the first in an annual series of updates and analysis of the
Organisation’s work guiding the sector forward. The inaugural report is titled “Rethinking
Tourism: From Crisis to Transformation”, reflecting the timely relevance of the 2022 theme as
well as the unprecedented crisis that hit the sector in 2020. One of Balmer Lawrie's major
Service Businesses is Travel & Vacations. We have a team of professionals, who are sensitive
to the needs of the customers and curate holidays that become cherished stories for people
travelling with Vacations Exotica. Besides various tour packages, including LTC holiday
packages, the Travel & Vacations team provides all kinds of travel solutions including
ticketing, hotels, visa, insurance, forex etc. Vacations Exotica has been handling various MICE
(Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) activities very successfully as well. Balmer
Lawrie's B2C portal www.vacationsexotica.com and the Flight Booking Portal for Government
Employees - https://govemp.balmerlawrietravelapp.com/ have also seen a surge in bookings.
Let’s hope for the best for the tourism sector that was one of the worst hit by COVID-19!
As mandated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), this year the Vigilance Awareness
Week (VAW) will be observed based on the theme “भ्रष्टाचार मुक्त भारत – विकसित भारत /
Corruption free India for a developed Nation”. VAW 2022 will be observed across the country
from 31st October to 6th November 2022. The Vigilance Department will be organising host of
events for employees pan India and will also conduct outreach programs in association with
external institutions. Request all of you to participate in the events, be vigilant and work
towards eradicating corruption.
Hope you enjoy reading this issue. As always, will look forward to your feedback,
contributions and suggestions; you may mail them to

  • 1. Festivity has rent the air and people are going all out to celebrate. The holiday season has witnessed a great surge in travel as well. The COVID-19 restrictions for two years had muted the festivities during this time of the year. Moreover, the pandemic has forced us to redefine travel and be innovative in providing tourism solutions that are sustainable. World Tourism Day was celebrated on 27th September 2022 and was aptly themed as "Rethinking Tourism". During the celebrations, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) launched its first World Tourism Day Report, the first in an annual series of updates and analysis of the Organisation’s work guiding the sector forward. The inaugural report is titled “Rethinking Tourism: From Crisis to Transformation”, reflecting the timely relevance of the 2022 theme as well as the unprecedented crisis that hit the sector in 2020. One of Balmer Lawrie's major Service Businesses is Travel & Vacations. We have a team of professionals, who are sensitive to the needs of the customers and curate holidays that become cherished stories for people travelling with Vacations Exotica. Besides various tour packages, including LTC holiday packages, the Travel & Vacations team provides all kinds of travel solutions including ticketing, hotels, visa, insurance, forex etc. Vacations Exotica has been handling various MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) activities very successfully as well. Balmer Lawrie's B2C portal www.vacationsexotica.com and the Flight Booking Portal for Government Employees - https://govemp.balmerlawrietravelapp.com/ have also seen a surge in bookings. Let’s hope for the best for the tourism sector that was one of the worst hit by COVID-19! As mandated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), this year the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) will be observed based on the theme “भ्रष्टाचार मुक्त भारत – विकसित भारत / Corruption free India for a developed Nation”. VAW 2022 will be observed across the country from 31st October to 6th November 2022. The Vigilance Department will be organising host of events for employees pan India and will also conduct outreach programs in association with external institutions. Request all of you to participate in the events, be vigilant and work towards eradicating corruption. Hope you enjoy reading this issue. As always, will look forward to your feedback, contributions and suggestions; you may mail them to mukhopadhyay.mohar@balmerlawrie.com.
