The month of June 2022 was pretty eventful! Balmer Lawrie participated in the AKAM Mega Week
celebrations organised by Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance, Government of
India in association with SCOPE and FICCI from 6th to 12th June 2022. The Company also observed
World Environment Day (WED), World Blood Donors Day and the International Day of Yoga (IDY). At
Balmer Lawrie, WED and IDY hold immense significance and various programs are organised to enhance
awareness on the WED theme and the movement of yoga, respectively. As you are aware this year the
WED theme was “Only One Earth” and the theme for IDY was "Yoga for Humanity". Both these themes
called for unity and connectedness in efforts to protect the world and ensure the well being of
humanity. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG), GOI observed and celebrated the
Swachh Bharat Pakhwara from 1st to 15th July. Balmer Lawrie, being an MOPNG Company, joined the
celebrations. Various activities involving the employees and the communities residing around our offices
and plants were organised during the fortnight. While we are covering the WED and IDY celebrations in
this issue of BLOOM, all the programs held as part of the Swachh Bharat Pakhwada will be covered in
the July 2022 issue of Balmer Lawrie Organisational Gazette (BLOG), our quarterly house journal.
Mr. Sreejit Banerjee has taken over as President Director of PT Balmer Lawrie Indonesia (PTBLI) with
effect from 01st July 2022 post superannuation of Mr. Amit Kumar Basak. Prior to joining PTBLI he was
heading Greases & Lubricants as COO [G&L]. Mr. Raj Kumar Maity is currently the Head of SBU:
Greases & Lubricants. The annual promotions for Executives and Officers effective 1st July 2022 were
announced. The names of the employees, who got promoted, have been uploaded on the Intranet.
Hearty congratulations to all who got promoted and wish them all the best for their new roles!
The Ministry of Culture, Government of India has initiated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the
aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark
the 75th year of India’s independence. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of
independence thus, becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also
an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the
feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National
Flag. For FAQs on the National Flag, you may visit https://amritmahotsav.nic.in/har-ghar-tiranga.htm.
All employees are encouraged to hoist the flag in their homes from 13th to 15th August 2022. Apart from
this, you can also ‘Pin a Flag’ virtually at https://harghartiranga.com, along with posting a ‘Selfie with
Flag’ on the site. We can now fly the tricolour on our house day and night, with the Government making
a key change in rules ahead of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ celebrations in the run-up to Independence Day.
The Government is expecting nearly 30 crore homes to display the national flag on 13th August. As
always, mail your feedback, contributions and suggestions to
mukhopadhyay.mohar@balmerlawrie.com. Jai Hind!

  • 1. The month of June 2022 was pretty eventful! Balmer Lawrie participated in the AKAM Mega Week celebrations organised by Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance, Government of India in association with SCOPE and FICCI from 6th to 12th June 2022. The Company also observed World Environment Day (WED), World Blood Donors Day and the International Day of Yoga (IDY). At Balmer Lawrie, WED and IDY hold immense significance and various programs are organised to enhance awareness on the WED theme and the movement of yoga, respectively. As you are aware this year the WED theme was “Only One Earth” and the theme for IDY was "Yoga for Humanity". Both these themes called for unity and connectedness in efforts to protect the world and ensure the well being of humanity. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG), GOI observed and celebrated the Swachh Bharat Pakhwara from 1st to 15th July. Balmer Lawrie, being an MOPNG Company, joined the celebrations. Various activities involving the employees and the communities residing around our offices and plants were organised during the fortnight. While we are covering the WED and IDY celebrations in this issue of BLOOM, all the programs held as part of the Swachh Bharat Pakhwada will be covered in the July 2022 issue of Balmer Lawrie Organisational Gazette (BLOG), our quarterly house journal. Mr. Sreejit Banerjee has taken over as President Director of PT Balmer Lawrie Indonesia (PTBLI) with effect from 01st July 2022 post superannuation of Mr. Amit Kumar Basak. Prior to joining PTBLI he was heading Greases & Lubricants as COO [G&L]. Mr. Raj Kumar Maity is currently the Head of SBU: Greases & Lubricants. The annual promotions for Executives and Officers effective 1st July 2022 were announced. The names of the employees, who got promoted, have been uploaded on the Intranet. Hearty congratulations to all who got promoted and wish them all the best for their new roles! The Ministry of Culture, Government of India has initiated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus, becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. For FAQs on the National Flag, you may visit https://amritmahotsav.nic.in/har-ghar-tiranga.htm. All employees are encouraged to hoist the flag in their homes from 13th to 15th August 2022. Apart from this, you can also ‘Pin a Flag’ virtually at https://harghartiranga.com, along with posting a ‘Selfie with Flag’ on the site. We can now fly the tricolour on our house day and night, with the Government making a key change in rules ahead of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ celebrations in the run-up to Independence Day. The Government is expecting nearly 30 crore homes to display the national flag on 13th August. As always, mail your feedback, contributions and suggestions to mukhopadhyay.mohar@balmerlawrie.com.
