When we welcomed year 2021, we had hoped that nature would be kinder to us! However, in the
months of May-June it felt like we were in a dystopian world; grief, pathos, death and distress
uncannily gripped our lives. We lost colleagues, friends, family members and loved ones to the
pandemic. We faced the most unimaginable distressful moments. However, with utmost resilience and
the strength to cope with the harshest of situations, we were able to fight the 2nd wave of the
pandemic together. Let's hope 2022 will be a good year! We should not forget that COVID-19 is here
with us along with its variants. The fight is not over; it is on! We should not drop our guard and
continue to follow all the protocols to prevent any possible subsequent wave.
In spite of the year throwing up unprecedented challenges, our Company witnessed various
accomplishments and moments to cherish during the year. It is customary to mention the noteworthy
ones while we gear up to welcome the new year. Balmer Lawrie's Cold Chain Unit at Hyderabad
supported Bharat Biotech in the world's largest COVID-19 vaccination drive. Our Company is the only
storage and logistics partner of Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and is the only company to handle two
vaccines - Covaxin and Sputnik in India. An MoU was signed between Balmer Lawrie and IIM Calcutta
Innovation Park for taking forward the Round 2 Startup Fund Program on 24th February 2021. The Cold
Chain Unit at Rai, Haryana won the Cold Chain Award given away by Confederation of Indian Industry
(CII) for its outstanding performance in the category “Best Practices in Cold Storage”. Integrated Check
Post (ICP), Jogbani received a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ from Customs Jogbani on the 69th
International Customs Day. Balmer Lawrie won the “Business Strategy aligned L&D” Award and Mr.
Adika Ratna Sekhar, then Director [HR & CA] and C&MD [Additional Charge] was conferred with the
"Learning leader of the year" Award given away by ASCC and IIPA during the summit. Mr. Adika Ratna
Sekhar also received the ‘Sustainable HR Leaders (PSU)’ Award given away by World HRD Congress
during the 29th Edition of the World HRD Congress & Awards function held on 16th February 2021 at Taj
Lands End, Mumbai. Balmer Lawrie won the “West Bengal Best Employer Brand Awards 2021” given
away by World HRD Congress in a virtual event on 18th March 2021. SBU: Greases & Lubricants won
the ‘All India Best Supplier Lubricants / DEF West (2020-21)’, given away by Tata Motors Ltd. as part of
Tata Genuine Parts Vendor Impact Programme '21, the first virtual annual Vendor's Meet held on 26th
May 2021. Balmer Lawrie has been appointed by FICCI as an Exclusive / Official Travel and Hospitality
Agency for India Pavilion at World Expo 2020 in Dubai. Mr. Adika Ratna Sekhar took over as Chairman
& Managing Director of the Company in November 2021.
BLOOM wishes you and your family Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year in advance. Let's pray
that the year ahead is a harbinger of joy and success for our Company and all of us. As always, will
look forward to your feedback, contributions and suggestions. Please email them to

that crosses our pathway in life makes at least a teeny-tiny difference to our future for
good; similarly, the kind of person he is now is because of all the modest contribution of
the people he has crossed paths with. He is thrilled to be a Balmer Lawrien and eager to
work in unison with everyone.

Bloom December 2021

  • 1. When we welcomed year 2021, we had hoped that nature would be kinder to us! However, in the months of May-June it felt like we were in a dystopian world; grief, pathos, death and distress uncannily gripped our lives. We lost colleagues, friends, family members and loved ones to the pandemic. We faced the most unimaginable distressful moments. However, with utmost resilience and the strength to cope with the harshest of situations, we were able to fight the 2nd wave of the pandemic together. Let's hope 2022 will be a good year! We should not forget that COVID-19 is here with us along with its variants. The fight is not over; it is on! We should not drop our guard and continue to follow all the protocols to prevent any possible subsequent wave. In spite of the year throwing up unprecedented challenges, our Company witnessed various accomplishments and moments to cherish during the year. It is customary to mention the noteworthy ones while we gear up to welcome the new year. Balmer Lawrie's Cold Chain Unit at Hyderabad supported Bharat Biotech in the world's largest COVID-19 vaccination drive. Our Company is the only storage and logistics partner of Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and is the only company to handle two vaccines - Covaxin and Sputnik in India. The Cold Chain Unit at Rai, Haryana won the Cold Chain Award given away by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for its outstanding performance in the category “Best Practices in Cold Storage”. Integrated Check Post (ICP), Jogbani received a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ from Customs Jogbani on the 69th International Customs Day. Balmer Lawrie won the “Business Strategy aligned L&D” Award and Mr. Adika Ratna Sekhar, then Director [HR & CA] and C&MD [Additional Charge] was conferred with the "Learning leader of the year" Award given away by ASCC and IIPA during the summit. Mr. Adika Ratna Sekhar also received the ‘Sustainable HR Leaders (PSU)’ Award given away by World HRD Congress during the 29th Edition of the World HRD Congress & Awards function held on 16th February 2021 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Balmer Lawrie won the “West Bengal Best Employer Brand Awards 2021” given away by World HRD Congress in a virtual event on 18th March 2021. SBU: Greases & Lubricants won the ‘All India Best Supplier Lubricants / DEF West (2020-21)’, given away by Tata Motors Ltd. as part of Tata Genuine Parts Vendor Impact Programme '21, the first virtual annual Vendor's Meet held on 26th May 2021. Balmer Lawrie has been appointed by FICCI as an Exclusive / Official Travel and Hospitality Agency for India Pavilion at World Expo 2020 in Dubai. Mr. Adika Ratna Sekhar took over as Chairman & Managing Director of the Company in November 2021. BLOOM wishes you and your family Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year in advance. Let's pray that the year ahead is a harbinger of joy and success for our Company and all of us. As always, will look forward to your feedback, contributions and suggestions. He has over 12 years of experience in the Systems & Security domain. He is a multi-disciplinary IT professional who has delivered high critical services and engaging solutions across retail and government verticals. Before joining this organisation, he worked in TCS as Assistant Consultant, Webel as Junior Officer and CDAC as Project Engineer. Sudip is an outgoing person and likes hanging out with friends. During his professional stint, not only did he acquire technical knowledge but also developed the right corporate nuances. While working in one of the biggest projects in his previous company, the challenges not only made him an effective team player but also brought out the best in him. From being an introvert in a family of three members to handling a team of four was truly a remarkable transformational journey for him. A numismatist from childhood, he loves to watch travel videos. Apart from that, his occasional bike rides work as therapy for him. He is very excited about his journey at Balmer Lawrie. Mr. Viknesh Vijayakumar joined Regional HR - West, Mumbai as Asst. He believes that every individual that crosses our pathway in life makes at least a teeny-tiny difference to our future for good; similarly, the kind of person he is now is because of all the modest contribution of the people he has crossed paths with. He is thrilled to be a Balmer Lawrien and eager to work in unison with everyone.
