Kattunayakan Tribe ( one of the 75 PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE TRIBAL GROUPS) are
significant in their role in southern states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala... The word
Kattunayakar means king of the Jungle...
This tribe, just like many other tribal groups has been largely dependent to the forest.
They cultivate cinnamons, berries, forest peepers etc... They have some traditional
knowledge on medicines, they are very well versed with wild plants, fruits, crops...
Now the actual story behind the glory goes like this..
It was on a visit back home in Ooty 5 years ago that X met these Kattunayakan
'parents' of an orphan....Touched by the heavenly connection X captured the heart
warming story...and the rest is history....

In Tamil Nadu’s Koovagam village an 18 day long festival is celebrated
and attended by devotees of a special community from across the
country . Each year during the full moon of the Tamil month of
Chitrai, devotees gather to participate in the re-enactment of a tale
from Mahabharata, that of Aravan (Son of Arjuna & Ulupi) and
Mohini’s marriage. The devotees become brides of Aravan for one
day in a symbolic wedding at the Koothandavar temple . The
following day they mourn the death of their husband Aravan, just as
Krishna did in Mohini’s form, becoming his widow.

tehsil in Reasi district of the Indian union territory of
Jammu and Kashmir. Situated on the bank of River

In 1981, a group of Philippine-born macaque monkeys were used in
neuroscience research. The head researcher, a psychologist named

Way back in Colonel Duffin was commanding officer at
Berhampore Cantonment. On a December evening he was
playing a cricket match in Berhampore Cantonment. X, the
then Deputy Collector was going back home on his palanquin
being unaware of the fact that his bearers would go across
