mail and will not be liable if the message is
not read by the students.

B. Rule For Acceptance Of Offers By
The Company
• Once a student has been made a final offer
by the company, for summer or final
placement, he/she will NOT be allowed to
appear for interview in any other company.
• For the First Year students: if he/she has
taken up a summer training project from
campus, he/she will not be allowed to
withdraw from that for another off-campus

she is advised to NOT appear for the
interviews by the companies visiting the
campus.
• Once selected for placement by a company

final offer to him her, first.
b. The student will then be barred from
appearing for any other company's
placement processes, and will be pulled
out from their processes immediately,
even if he/she is waiting to go in for an
interview or Group Discussion.
c. The other companies will also be
informed that the student is placed, and
he/she should not be considered further.
d. If two or more companies release their
final offer lists simultaneously, and a
student figures in both all the lists, then
he / she gets 10 minutes to decide on
which offer he / she wants to accept.
For example: On Day 0, when we have ICICI
18 That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well
19Some people dream of success.. while others wake up and work hard at it.
Bank, Kotak Mahindra Group and HDFC Bank

can appear for all 3 companies. At the end of
day, if Kotak Mahindra Group comes out with
its final list of offers first, all students in that
list will have to take up the offer, and will be
immediately blocked from the placement
process and ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank will
be informed that these students are already
selected in Kotak.
• In case a student fails to get selected even
after three chances, he/she may only be
given chance; after all other students have
been placed.
• A student will not be considered eligible for

(MBA/BBA)
As a part of curriculum, you are required to undergo

commercial organization, commencing after the end
of University’s examinations. The objective of this
project work is; to familiarize the students with the

choose the topic. A suggested list of few topics is
given below:

company.
• Portfolio Management.

dealing in stock market.
• Impact of mergers and acquisitions on
performance of the companies
• Impact of budget on company's
performance.

product.

• Marketing analysis of company
• Comparative analysis of company with its
competitors through customer mapping and
price mapping
• Impact of marketing strategies on
consumers buying intention.
IV) General Management Topics

performance.
• Managing transition from entrepreneurial
firms to professional firms
• Corporate governance
• Business intelligence and knowledge
management
• Manufacturing strategies for competitive
advantage
• TQM
• Comparative study of products of the
company with competitors
All the above mentioned topics should be approved
by the concerned faculty guides before starting the
work. The students will have to collect the data
relevant to their topic or problem, and analyze the
same with statistical tools, make intelligent
observations and offer some practical suggestions.
2. On the Job Training
Sometimes, the companies do not give survey or
research based problems’ project and ask the
students to work on the job. For example, a bank
may ask to sell saving and current a/c; financial
products etc, A real estate company may ask to sell
residential and commercial properties , a stock
broking firm may ask for selling d-mat and trading
a/c.
24 The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of work
Note: Format for these two types of project has
been enclosed.
General Instructions:
The Summer Training Project provides an excellent
opportunity to all students to have a first hand
experience and exposure in the working of an
industry. This way, they get to know the actual
applications of all theoretical concepts in real life
situation. Therefore, all students should avail this
opportunity to complete the summer training
diligently, sincerely and without any irregularity. The
following instructions are conveyed to them for their
guidance during summer training.
1. Complete the summer training work sincerely
and without any irregularity.
2. Join the company as early as possible and see
that they are spending minimum 50 days in the
organization.
3. There are four kinds of reports i.e. summer
training joining report and company’s profile,
mentor's feedback form and self evaluation
form . There are marks assigned for each
report @5 marks (A Total of 20 marks are
reserved for four page reports). The students
has to send summer training joining report and
company’s profile format form, duly signed by
the corporate mentor (within seven days from
the date of joining the organization) to CRC
only. The rest two reports i.e mentor's feedback
form and self evaluation form, have to be
submitted at the end of summer training . The
reports submitted to any faculty members, will
not be entertained and will be liable for
deduction of marks.
4 When two or more students are placed in the
same organization, they have to see to it, that
there is no duplication of work. This can be
done by taking up different project titles in the
same area or different functional areas, like
Marketing, HRM, Finance etc.
5. During the summer training, all students should
present themselves in the proper dress code.
No student should go to their organization in
casual wear like T-shirts, Jeans etc. Also, they
should keep their identity cards along with
them throughout their stay with the
organization.
6. Discuss the progress of their project work with
your corporate mentor during the training
period and with their faculty guide, and, write
the minutes of the discussion.
All students are required to submit their project
report in the prescribed University format, as per
the samples attached herewith. Any Deviation from
this list will not be accepted.
The final draft of the project will be prepared under
the guidance of faculty. The students should take
care that all the information related to study, must
be available while finalizing the report. In case of
any difficulty, students are advised to contact
concerned internal faculty guide through e-mail or
on phone, whichever is possible.
The students should report for regular classes in the
new academic session on the date which will be
communicated to them .

Guidelines For
Conducting Events
Students Driven Activities of BVIMR
Introduction
The special events constitute the extra and co-curricular activities of an academic institution. These events
provide an opportunity for the faculty members, students and non teaching staff to work as a close knit family to
achieve an objective within a given timeframe. There are many challenges to be overcome, with regard to
meeting deadlines, operating within approved budgets, ensuring participation of corporate members and
academicians from other institutes. This requires entrepreneurial and managerial skills of high orders. It also
enables the students to understand the application of organizational skills in real life situations. The students are
enabled to meet and interact with dignitaries and participants from other organizations and learn from sharing
experiences with them.
At BVIMR , more than 30 events are planned and conducted every year. This includes:
National and International Conferences,
Guruvandana (an event to felicitate corporate mentors who guide our students during summer training,
celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of late Hon'ble President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan).
National Research Paper Presentation Competition
Annual Alumni Meet, “MILAP”
Paristhiti : An annual inter institute case writing competition
Renaissance : An annual cultural festival
Ozone Day : To promote concerns regarding environmental protection
Annual Sports Day : An event to celebrate the birthday of Hon'ble founder, Bharati Vidyapeeth
BVIMR Gems : An inter class event, to promote creativity, team spirit and excellence among the
students. In most of these events, participants are invited from various parts of the
country. Prizes are also given for best three performances, to promote spirit of
competition and urge for achieving excellence.
Annual Day : To bid farewell to graduating students.
The successful organization of such a large and varied range of events, calls for exceptional dedication, planning
and execution skills of all faculty members, students and non-teaching staff, working as a team. It is only the
combined synergy of all members of BVIMR family, that can ensure, that these events are a grand success and
serve the purpose for which these are organized.
The following guidelines are meant to ensure that these events are conducted smoothly and effectively, avoiding
last minute confusion and rush. An effective planning also ensures that these are organized in a cost effective
manner within budgetary provisions.
1. Academic Calendar
It is of utmost importance, that all events are planned well in advance and incorporated in the academic
calendar of the next academic session. The academic calendar serves as a useful monitoring device for
sequencing the various events planned, with due regard to the important academic requirement for
various classes, including examinations, internal evaluation and class room activities.
58 Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant
2. Monitoring Chart for events
It is useful to draw up a monitoring chart, listing all important activities pertaining to each event, indicating
the expected date of completion of each activity, so that the event is executed with proper planning,
avoiding confusion and last minute rush.
3. Letter; inviting participation and call for papers
Enough notice is required to be given to prospective participants in case we want good participation and
response for the event. The guiding factors can be our past experience. Planning must include enough time
for follow up at personal level wherever required. In organizing International Conference, the protocol
requirements, government rules and procedures should also be kept in mind. So that the wherewithals are
arranged in time.
4. Inviting Chief Guest/Guests of Honour
The presence of dignitaries in the form of Chief Guests/Guests of Honour, lends value and importance to
any event organized in the Institute. Their presence is also a source of inspiration and guidance to all
present during the event. It also promotes the public image of the organizers. It is of utmost importance that
these dignitaries are selected with care to ensure protocol requirements so that these dignitaries are
accorded all due courtesies and respect befitting their status and eminence. The Chief guests and guests of
honor must be invited with sufficient notice, considering their busy schedule and prior engagements. These
requirements must be considered while drawing up the monitoring chart.
5. Mementoes and Presents
Presenting mementoes and presents are an important tradition in our country, to felicitate guests and
invitees. They help to build a strong bond with the Institute, since the recipient carry fond memories of the
organization/ Institute. Last moment decisions in this regard often leads to wrong selection of items and on
occasions exceeding budgetary provisions for the same. It is advisable to select items and souvenirs which
are in vogue and accepted in other Institutes and organizations rather than going for unusual mementoes
or gifts. Care should be taken to see that these are arranged within budgetary provisions and in required
numbers only. It is very important to ensure that these are made available in time.
6. Venue and Logistics
The venue for most of Institute's events is the Auditorium. This venue is also required by the other two
Institutions in the Campus namely. The College of Engineering and the College of Computer Applications.
Therefore, it is important that the Auditorium is booked sufficiently in advance. The various arrangements
in the auditorium: sound system, air-conditioning, LCD projection, housekeeping and decoration must be
ensured at least two days in advance, to ensure that the systems work perfectly on the day(s) of the event.
Banners/Posters and Rangoli colour to any event and tends to enliven the mind and spirit of the
participants. These activities must be planned with care, and due regard to the theme of the event. Care
must be take that they do not spoil the ambience or the Institute's building and other assets.
Vehicle arrangements are important to ensure the presence of invited dignitaries in time so that the event
can be inaugurated and completed in time. Vehicles must be used in a cost effective manner, so that the
same vehicle can serve multiple purposes of picking up and/or dropping more than one guest. The routes
likewise, must be planned in a way to make optimum use of time and vehicles available.
7. Food and Menu
Food and refreshments constitute a very important component of any organized event. Given the regional,
social and cultural diversity of our country, the menu must be planned well in advance, to ensure that the
59That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well
food served, meets the dietary requirements and preferences of the majority of participants. Likewise, the
agency, handling the catering requirements, must have the requisite experience in meeting the
requirements of the menu within the budgetary provisions.
8. Event Report
All events must be properly documented with all records and information pertaining to details of
proceedings of all sessions, list of guests/participants, photographs of important events and persons. It
should also contain important recommendations and conclusions. Below is the index given for reference.
Index
1. Brochure
2. Invitation Letters
3. Invitation Card
4. Session Plan
5. Duty Chart
6. Logistics' Details
7. Registration Details
8. List of Papers/ Abstracts received
9. E-mail sent to students
10. Receipts and Payment Statements
11. Itinerary
12. Details of Sponsors

9. Conclusions
As seen above, organization of events provide a valuable learning experience to all students and faculty
members. The Institute is enriched with a wealth of information and views of various, participants, speaker
and dignitaries which can be gainfully utilized for research and academic purposes.
The events also serve to enhance the image of the host organization in the eyes of the society and the
academicians. It also raises the credit rating of the institute with the high power bodies such as the AICTE
and UGC. This has been one of the main reasons for BVIMR, to have gained a position of eminence among
the premier management institutes in India a portion of eminence among the premier management
institutes in India.

  • 58. Students Driven Activities of BVIMR Introduction The special events constitute the extra and co-curricular activities of an academic institution. These events provide an opportunity for the faculty members, students and non teaching staff to work as a close knit family to achieve an objective within a given timeframe. There are many challenges to be overcome, with regard to meeting deadlines, operating within approved budgets, ensuring participation of corporate members and academicians from other institutes. This requires entrepreneurial and managerial skills of high orders. It also enables the students to understand the application of organizational skills in real life situations. The students are enabled to meet and interact with dignitaries and participants from other organizations and learn from sharing experiences with them. At BVIMR , more than 30 events are planned and conducted every year. This includes: National and International Conferences, Guruvandana (an event to felicitate corporate mentors who guide our students during summer training, celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of late Hon'ble President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan). National Research Paper Presentation Competition Annual Alumni Meet, “MILAP” Paristhiti : An annual inter institute case writing competition Renaissance : An annual cultural festival Ozone Day : To promote concerns regarding environmental protection Annual Sports Day : An event to celebrate the birthday of Hon'ble founder, Bharati Vidyapeeth BVIMR Gems : An inter class event, to promote creativity, team spirit and excellence among the students. In most of these events, participants are invited from various parts of the country. Prizes are also given for best three performances, to promote spirit of competition and urge for achieving excellence. Annual Day : To bid farewell to graduating students. The successful organization of such a large and varied range of events, calls for exceptional dedication, planning and execution skills of all faculty members, students and non-teaching staff, working as a team. It is only the combined synergy of all members of BVIMR family, that can ensure, that these events are a grand success and serve the purpose for which these are organized. The following guidelines are meant to ensure that these events are conducted smoothly and effectively, avoiding last minute confusion and rush. An effective planning also ensures that these are organized in a cost effective manner within budgetary provisions. 1. Academic Calendar It is of utmost importance, that all events are planned well in advance and incorporated in the academic calendar of the next academic session. The academic calendar serves as a useful monitoring device for sequencing the various events planned, with due regard to the important academic requirement for various classes, including examinations, internal evaluation and class room activities. 58 Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant
  • 59. 2. Monitoring Chart for events It is useful to draw up a monitoring chart, listing all important activities pertaining to each event, indicating the expected date of completion of each activity, so that the event is executed with proper planning, avoiding confusion and last minute rush. 3. Letter; inviting participation and call for papers Enough notice is required to be given to prospective participants in case we want good participation and response for the event. The guiding factors can be our past experience. Planning must include enough time for follow up at personal level wherever required. In organizing International Conference, the protocol requirements, government rules and procedures should also be kept in mind. So that the wherewithals are arranged in time. 4. Inviting Chief Guest/Guests of Honour The presence of dignitaries in the form of Chief Guests/Guests of Honour, lends value and importance to any event organized in the Institute. Their presence is also a source of inspiration and guidance to all present during the event. It also promotes the public image of the organizers. It is of utmost importance that these dignitaries are selected with care to ensure protocol requirements so that these dignitaries are accorded all due courtesies and respect befitting their status and eminence. The Chief guests and guests of honor must be invited with sufficient notice, considering their busy schedule and prior engagements. These requirements must be considered while drawing up the monitoring chart. 5. Mementoes and Presents Presenting mementoes and presents are an important tradition in our country, to felicitate guests and invitees. They help to build a strong bond with the Institute, since the recipient carry fond memories of the organization/ Institute. Last moment decisions in this regard often leads to wrong selection of items and on occasions exceeding budgetary provisions for the same. It is advisable to select items and souvenirs which are in vogue and accepted in other Institutes and organizations rather than going for unusual mementoes or gifts. Care should be taken to see that these are arranged within budgetary provisions and in required numbers only. It is very important to ensure that these are made available in time. 6. Venue and Logistics The venue for most of Institute's events is the Auditorium. This venue is also required by the other two Institutions in the Campus namely. The College of Engineering and the College of Computer Applications. Therefore, it is important that the Auditorium is booked sufficiently in advance. The various arrangements in the auditorium: sound system, air-conditioning, LCD projection, housekeeping and decoration must be ensured at least two days in advance, to ensure that the systems work perfectly on the day(s) of the event. Banners/Posters and Rangoli colour to any event and tends to enliven the mind and spirit of the participants. These activities must be planned with care, and due regard to the theme of the event. Care must be take that they do not spoil the ambience or the Institute's building and other assets. Vehicle arrangements are important to ensure the presence of invited dignitaries in time so that the event can be inaugurated and completed in time. Vehicles must be used in a cost effective manner, so that the same vehicle can serve multiple purposes of picking up and/or dropping more than one guest. The routes likewise, must be planned in a way to make optimum use of time and vehicles available. 7. Food and Menu Food and refreshments constitute a very important component of any organized event. Given the regional, social and cultural diversity of our country, the menu must be planned well in advance, to ensure that the 59That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well
  • 60. food served, meets the dietary requirements and preferences of the majority of participants. Likewise, the agency, handling the catering requirements, must have the requisite experience in meeting the requirements of the menu within the budgetary provisions. 8. Event Report All events must be properly documented with all records and information pertaining to details of proceedings of all sessions, list of guests/participants, photographs of important events and persons. It should also contain important recommendations and conclusions. Below is the index given for reference. Index 1. Brochure 2. Invitation Letters 3. Invitation Card 4. Session Plan 5. Duty Chart 6. Logistics' Details 7. Registration Details 8. List of Papers/ Abstracts received 9. E-mail sent to students 10. Receipts and Payment Statements 11. Itinerary 12. Details of Sponsors 13. Any other document related to your event. 9. Conclusions As seen above, organization of events provide a valuable learning experience to all students and faculty members. The Institute is enriched with a wealth of information and views of various, participants, speaker and dignitaries which can be gainfully utilized for research and academic purposes. The events also serve to enhance the image of the host organization in the eyes of the society and the academicians. It also raises the credit rating of the institute with the high power bodies such as the AICTE and UGC. This has been one of the main reasons for BVIMR, to have gained a position of eminence among the premier management institutes in India a portion of eminence among the premier management institutes in India. 60 Failure is only the opportunity to begin more intelligently
