When the historical decision to establish Bharati Vidyapeeth
Deemed to be University was taken in 1954, it was a small
step towards a big cause. The decision was made about
bringing a clear intellectual awakening and all round
development of the young generation through dynamic
education. Nourished and guided by Hon’ble Dr. Patangraoji
Kadam, Bharati Vidyapeeth University has been over the years,
shed the light over the length and breadth of the country. The
world’s golden jubilee speaks volume for the aura of glory in
which our university lies submerged. For a period of 5
decades, it has unfailingly sent out students who are capable
of being good citizens on which the nation can count for help,
guidance and the upliftment of the downtrodden. The service
it has rendered to the country is of immense importance as it
is only the little sunrays that constitute the vast sunlight that
floors the land. The roots of the present lies in the past and so
to the past; we look back to the years when the scaffolds of
our university were formed.
We must endeavor to comprehend the thoughts of the founder of this university and embody the
visions which they have cherished. It is an occasion on which we reaffirm the purpose for which
Bharati Vidyapeeth University was given shape to and to pledge to continue the trend of progress.
Rarely have things been attained without the help and guidance. The teachers have done the role of
luminaries, guiding us intellectually and morally. It is their vision to translate and that have been
translated into actions. The “Vidyapeethian” era of glory and achievement was begun by past
students. They have lighted the torch marking the commencement of this era. The torch bearers of
today merely carry it along. It is the responsibility as well as privilege of all who make up this
university “family” – teaching and non teaching staff, administrators, the students - past and the
present, individually as well as in group - to work together each in his or her own way, towards
nourishment of this growth.
Today will give place to tomorrow and tomorrow will dawn into a day after, and yet another 50 years
will fade into oblivion.

The splendid edifice of Bharati Vidyapeeth, which is today, one
of the largest and leading organizations in India, is a creation
of one person: Dr. Patangrao Kadam. Under his able,
dedicated and visionary leadership, Bharati Vidyapeeth
established in Pune in 1964, has made tremendous strides
during the last 56 years. The credit of establishment and of
astonishing development of Bharati Vidyapeeth and its allied
concerns goes entirely to the dynamic leadership and
undaunted hard work of Dr. Patangraoji Kadam. He has been
so involved in the planning, establishment, development and
progress of Bharati Vidyapeeth.
The mission that Bharati Vidyapeeth has defined for itself is to
bring about intellectual awakening of people through the
spread of education and to prepare human resources needed
for all round development, particularly economic, of the

The demand for IT roles have increased enormously, which includes software engineers,
programmers and full-stack developers. Amongst non-technical roles, the majority were for
sales executives. Except FMCG and other essential related industries, many industries are
struggling for their survival in this tough competition era. To ensure their existence post COVID-
19, hiring managers of such organisations are making sure that hiring is done smoothly. They
are, thus, making use of various digital platforms like Skype, Zoom and Google Meet to conduct
virtual interviews. 'In fact, this has made interviews faster and convenient.
"Hiring of mid-level and freshers is going on.”, quoted by Michael Page India Managing Director
Nicolas Dumoulin. Companies are preferring to rely more on digital platforms to communicate
than before. It includes some very popular interorganizational reporting tools like Google Teams,
Slack etc.
Impact of COVID-19
on Job Opportunities
Job Market: Hiring flourished

“Organisations have to prepare themselves for tomorrow,” he added. “We will continue to hire as
per plan and client requirements,” said a Capgemini spokesperson. “The hiring will be split
between freshers and laterals,” the spokesperson added.
Marquee startups are also keeping their job postings regularly published and refreshed.
Although startup job openings are down 50%, large players are scouting for talent. Online
grocery store, Big-Basket has about 10,000 openings for its logistics roles, while Grofers has
about 5,000.
“Gaming, Edu-tech, digital content and OTT players are just announcing hiring numbers. The
lockdown has meant higher consumption of digital content such as eLearning and eTutoring
also, the school season is coming,” said Kamal Karanth, cofounder, Xpheno.
Contemporary skillset upholders are less likely
to be selected for lower or middle level
positions post pandemic as businesses are
observing a changed consumer behavior, where
new trends and technologies are entering
almost everyday. Amid such dynamicity, hiring
managers have increased their expectations
from candidates. Their focus will be to hire
people with the right attitude who can learn any
new skills faster than others. Only degrees and
qualifications will not matter, they are expecting
possession of skills that will help the
organisation rise between new tech fades.

Fresh graduates expecting lengthy training and
getting paid during the period is fading away
faster than expected. Fresh graduates will now
make themselves ready for the job outside the
system if they have to contest for a new job.
The fresh graduates can also expect additional
competition from the lateral and experienced
people who will now be looking for new jobs
and even ready to accept lower salaries.
Demand for Up-skilled workforce
Source: LinkedIn Learning, Most In Demand Skills 2020
Freelancing industry has seen a 360-degree transformation during COVID-19 times. Chandrika
Pasricha, CEO of Flexing It (India) reports, “We see demand for seasoned strategy consultants to
help companies revise plans and market scenarios; digital skills are critical in reaching
customers and for business continuity; finance expertise to help plan cash flows and cut burn;
HR talent to manage employee morale, and guide how to manage pay cuts/employee
separation. It's an important time for freelancers to assess their strengths, sharpen their skill
profiles and think about new products and services they can offer.”

The most severely impacted sectors could be the aviation, travel, hospitality, retail,
manufacturing and automotive sectors. In the aviation sector pay cuts and warning bells have
already started ringing with reports talking about IndiGo already announcing pay cuts for its
employees. Many other airlines may follow suit and may even go to the extent of trimming
its workforce.

Rise in the demand for unconventional jobs
Crisis situations take away millions of jobs, but new ones get created soon. With COVID-19, the
Healthcare and wellness sector will get a tremendous boost and create more jobs. Digital
economy will get a major boost and create more jobs for technology professionals.

A major change that will start happening is ‘localization’. With reduced travel and possibilities of
reduced global trade, local economies will re-emerge and start creating small job opportunities
that were destroyed by rapid and massive globalization.
MBA Placement Brochure  |  25
Nearly all interviews, assessment centers, and psychometric tests are now conducted entirely
online. This means that firms are able to recruit students and graduates without breaking
lockdown rules. According to human resource consultants, given the paucity of jobs in the market,
freshers will need to be much more flexible.
“Students can prepare themselves for this by doing mock online interviews,” said Hawes. “This will
help make them more comfortable, as well as making sure that the camera angle’s right and that
there are no distractions in the background”
Mass remote working for prolonged times will make people more mature in remote working. It'll
also change the behavior of individuals and expectations from companies. Technology will
improve significantly to produce not only remote working with great experience but also remote
schooling. Homes will start having a home office to qualify for jobs within the future. Everything
digital will replace almost everything that needs physical to attach to remote connections.

Social distancing being enforced will make an impact on social behavior and more people will
work remotely encouraging social distancing as an accepted norm for an extended period.

Job titles will quickly meltdown and real value are going to be
demanded at every level. There'll be clearly three values that
companies will determine before creating a job; Accountability to
increase revenue; Accountability to optimize costs; Accountability to
supply value-added regulation and governance.
Degrees along with qualifications will not matter as much as they
did earlier. People will learn quickly to fit into new jobs and start in
new jobs afresh instead of banking on their degrees & prior
experience for too long.
Fitment will overrule qualifications
The ability to learn any new skills quickly will be an added advantage
for any job seekers as almost every business will need to pivot in
some way or the other to adjust to the new emerging trends & global
forces.

My journey with BVIMR has been a compelling one. I learned to dream & most importantly
got the skills to convert into reality. The knowledge and experience gained through
interaction with the faculty members, mentors, Deans, Head of various departments and
Director sir has benefited me in innumerable ways; specially giving me deep insights into the
corporate level working culture that I felt, is being practiced here at BVIMR, if one deeply
observed the operations and management functioning of this wonderful institute. I shall
always cherish these two years of MBA at BVIMR.
Talking about my journey at BVIMR, so it was a great pleasure to be a part of BVIMR family.
My 2 years of MBA in the college were amazing with full of new learnings, new experiences,
new opportunities and new challenges. The faculty of this college is the best as they are
always available whenever any student needs them for advice. BVIMR is very strict with the
rules and regulations from strict formal dress code to attendance but the main motive behind
this is to make student understand the value of discipline and make them ready for the
corporate world. I would like to thank our Director sir Dr. Vikas Nath sir and CRC Head Dr.
Neelam Sharma ma’am who provided us with n number of opportunities throughout the
course.
I was recruited by Protiviti consulting from the campus even in this pandemic. Grooming in
BVIMR starts from day 1, every semester we had some subjects that are specifically
designed so that our placement process is eased out. The College has extremely
experienced and supportive faculty and they help you to bridge the gap between what you are
and what the corporate requires you to be. I would like to say that I am very satisfied as a
BVIMR student with whatever grooming I have received from this college and the immense
support that this college has given me.

My masters in BVIMR is one of the best experiences of my life. I really cherished the
systematic approach towards imparting education and career enhancement in conjunction
with overall personality development at BVIMR. There’s wide range of activities both
curricular and co-curricular that made me a competent individual.  The hallmark and the best
part of BVIMR is the faculty. All the grooming that I have received at BVIMR helped me
landed a good job with a good package. I would like to thank our director Dr. Vikas Nath sir,
CRC head Dr. Neelam Sharma ma’am and all the faculty members for their immense support
throughout the programme.
These two years have been the best part of my life. I have focussed on developing a cordial
relationship with my peers and my teachers. Under their constant support and guidance, I
have been alble to discover my hidden talents and triumphed the presidential elections of the
student’s council. The training given by the Corporate resource centre (CRC) has helped me
in grooming my personality as a whole and secure a jobin my area of interest. Thanking them
for all they have done for me will never be enough.
This is to express my gratitude for BVIMR, New Delhi that I had a great time here including
studies, extra curriculars, sports,  educational events and mainly in getting my placement.
Professors and staff were very helpful in achieving my career goal and convert my endevours
into real time world. Hereby, I am very thankful to my CRC team who gave me the knowledge
and confidence and brought a new dimension into my life which helped to land up in getting
my dream job profile with a sound package.

  • 6. When the historical decision to establish Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University was taken in 1954, it was a small step towards a big cause. The decision was made about bringing a clear intellectual awakening and all round development of the young generation through dynamic education. Nourished and guided by Hon’ble Dr. Patangraoji Kadam, Bharati Vidyapeeth University has been over the years, shed the light over the length and breadth of the country. The world’s golden jubilee speaks volume for the aura of glory in which our university lies submerged. For a period of 5 decades, it has unfailingly sent out students who are capable of being good citizens on which the nation can count for help, guidance and the upliftment of the downtrodden. The service it has rendered to the country is of immense importance as it is only the little sunrays that constitute the vast sunlight that floors the land. The roots of the present lies in the past and so to the past; we look back to the years when the scaffolds of our university were formed. We must endeavor to comprehend the thoughts of the founder of this university and embody the visions which they have cherished. It is an occasion on which we reaffirm the purpose for which Bharati Vidyapeeth University was given shape to and to pledge to continue the trend of progress. Rarely have things been attained without the help and guidance. The teachers have done the role of luminaries, guiding us intellectually and morally. It is their vision to translate and that have been translated into actions. The “Vidyapeethian” era of glory and achievement was begun by past students. They have lighted the torch marking the commencement of this era. The torch bearers of today merely carry it along. It is the responsibility as well as privilege of all who make up this university “family” – teaching and non teaching staff, administrators, the students - past and the present, individually as well as in group - to work together each in his or her own way, towards nourishment of this growth. Today will give place to tomorrow and tomorrow will dawn into a day after, and yet another 50 years will fade into oblivion. MBA Placement Brochure  |  03 50 Years of Innovation & Excellence

Marquee startups are also keeping their job postings regularly published and refreshed. Although startup job openings are down 50%, large players are scouting for talent. Online grocery store, Big-Basket has about 10,000 openings for its logistics roles, while Grofers has about 5,000. “Gaming, Edu-tech, digital content and OTT players are just announcing hiring numbers. The lockdown has meant higher consumption of digital content such as eLearning and eTutoring also, the school season is coming,” said Kamal Karanth, cofounder, Xpheno. Contemporary skillset upholders are less likely to be selected for lower or middle level positions post pandemic as businesses are observing a changed consumer behavior, where new trends and technologies are entering almost everyday. Amid such dynamicity, hiring managers have increased their expectations from candidates. Their focus will be to hire people with the right attitude who can learn any new skills faster than others. Only degrees and qualifications will not matter, they are expecting possession of skills that will help the organisation rise between new tech fades.   Fresh graduates expecting lengthy training and getting paid during the period is fading away faster than expected. Fresh graduates will now make themselves ready for the job outside the system if they have to contest for a new job. The fresh graduates can also expect additional competition from the lateral and experienced people who will now be looking for new jobs and even ready to accept lower salaries. It's an important time for freelancers to assess their strengths, sharpen their skill profiles and think about new products and services they can offer.”   The most severely impacted sectors could be the aviation, travel, hospitality, retail, manufacturing and automotive sectors. I shall always cherish these two years of MBA at BVIMR. Talking about my journey at BVIMR, so it was a great pleasure to be a part of BVIMR family. My 2 years of MBA in the college were amazing with full of new learnings, new experiences, new opportunities and new challenges. The faculty of this college is the best as they are always available whenever any student needs them for advice. BVIMR is very strict with the rules and regulations from strict formal dress code to attendance but the main motive behind this is to make student understand the value of discipline and make them ready for the corporate world. I would like to thank our Director sir Dr. Vikas Nath sir and CRC Head Dr. Neelam Sharma ma’am who provided us with n number of opportunities throughout the course.  I was recruited by Protiviti consulting from the campus even in this pandemic. Grooming in BVIMR starts from day 1, every semester we had some subjects that are specifically designed so that our placement process is eased out. The College has extremely experienced and supportive faculty and they help you to bridge the gap between what you are and what the corporate requires you to be. I would like to say that I am very satisfied as a BVIMR student with whatever grooming I have received from this college and the immense support that this college has given me.  Alumni Speaks Amazon MBA Placement Brochure  |  34 Arushi Goel Divesh Sharma Asian Paints Anushmita Sinha Protiviti Consulting
