  • One of the most useful emails I receive a couple of times each week is from http://www.makeuseof.com. They offer 50+ guides on all topics technology and Internet, their answers section has helped me when no one else could and their articles are very informative. But my favorite part of the site and email is their Cool Websites and Tools I have fond a number of the apps etc there.
  • Mashable is the largest independent online news site dedicated to covering digital culture, social media and technology. With more than 50 million monthly page-views and 17 million unique monthly visitors, Mashable has one of the most engaged online news communities. Founded in 2005, Mashable is headquartered in New York City with an office in San Francisco. This is the place I go when I need to know what is happening NOW.
  • Social Media Examiner, the  world’s largest online social media magazine , is designed to help businesses discover how to best use social media tools like Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn to connect with customers, generate more brand awareness and increase sales. More than 450,000 people read Social Media Examiner each month. • The Brainchild of Guy Kawasaki The purpose of Alltop is to help you answer the question, “What’s happening?” in “all the topics” that interest you. You may wonder how Alltop is different from a search engine. A search engine is good to answer a question like, “How many people live in China?” However, it has a much harder time answering the question, “What’s happening in China?” That’s the kind of question that we answer. We do this by collecting the headlines of the latest stories from the best sites and blogs that cover a topic. We group these collections — “aggregations” — into individual web pages. Then we display the five most recent headlines of the information sources as well as their first paragraph. Our topics run from adoption to zoology with photography, food, science, religion, celebrities, fashion, gaming, sports, politics, automobiles, Macintosh, and hundreds of other subjects along the way. You can think of Alltop as the “online magazine rack” of the web. We’ve subscribed to thousands of sources to provide “aggregation without aggravation.” To be clear, Alltop pages are starting points—they are not destinations per se. Ultimately, our goal is to enhance your online reading by displaying stories from sources that you’re already visiting plus helping you discover sources that you didn’t know existed.
  • Because I am always online I need stuff to be simple and easy. iGoogle helps me by making the sites I use the most one click away. One tab over from my home-page and my most visited, last visited and useful apps all on one page!
  • Google Reader is a repository for all of the blogs and some websites I like to follow. Rather than trying to remember each one separately
  • You can add a subscription by just copying the URL – many blogs have a RSS feed and it is just a matter of clicking on that and adding it to Google Reader. One of the most useful features is you can search the blog entries using keywords and find blogs that are commenting on that word.
  • Google alerts is a great way to keep track of your Brand or the trending of a keyword etc.
  • How often do you need to take a screen-shot or transmit an entire page? Web Page Screen Shot no only allow you t do that but also to add arrows, text, squiggles etc. it is saved as a URL and you can send it to a colleague, save it or print it.
  • I use Google’s Blogger and when I find an article or post I want to blog about I use Blog This ! is my favorite way to get it done quickly . It takes the URL and allows you to add your thoughts – you can then post it or keep it as a draft.
  • Once I save a post as a Draft then I use Zemanta Assistant to add photos, hyperlinks and related articles.
  • Delisiouc.com is a site that allows you keep track of articles and references. By assigning a tag (keyword) or any other identifier you can amass a library of information on a specific subject. You can keep it private or make it public. Delicious also keep track of what people are saving and has featured articles and recent saves.
  • Here is an article I saved about the Dalai Lama joining Google+ . Sixteen other people have saved it and Delicious suggests tags to use. You can also add comments.
  • Do you like mind-map – I use mind-maps to flatten out social media sites. Bubbl.us is a free website that allows you to mind-map and collaborate with others. For a small fee ( $3 ) you can save more than three mind-maps. Easy to use and a great way to visualize complex ideas.
  • If you own a Kindle and like to read away from the computer KindleIt is the perfect Chrome Extension- it also works with Firefox and Android. Using the extension send the interesting article to you Kindle to read at you leisure or during a commute.
  • HootSuite.com is a social media aggregator. The free version allow you to keep track of five separate social streams.
  • At a glance you can see what is happening on your Twitter, Facebook, Facebook-Pages, LinkedIn and many others by using Ping.fm
  • The most important part of HootSuite is that you can post to all of your social media streams at once. You can also schedule your posts for the week or year for that matter and it shortens any URLs and add photos.
  • SlideShare.net is a website that allows you share your PowerPoint presentations online. LinkedIn.com has a SlideShare application so that you have add your PowerPoint presentations to your profile as well as videos.
  • This Power Point can be found on my SlideShare page http:// www.slideshare.net /BLemaire
  • Dropbox, a free service that lets people bring their documents, photos and videos anywhere and share them easily. More than 25 million people have joined Dropbox and are using it to save more than 200 million files every day. These files are available from any computer, smartphone or iPad.
  • Pegby.co is a free electronic cork board that can be expanded, shared, color coded, filtered - addictive for its usefulness.
  • A new board can be created for every project.
