3. A teacher mentor is one who has the
abilities to lead and assist their colleagues.
They are willing to share their knowledge
and help others whether it is in or out of
the classroom.
Within this presentation my strengths,
qualifications and leadership abilities will
show that I am able to be an effective
teacher mentor.
5. According to StrengthsFinder 2.0
evaluation, by Tim Rath, my strengths are:
• Restorative
• Relator
• Achiever
• Responsibility
• Deliberative
6. Anyone with the restorative strength are
generally adept at dealing with problems.
Also they good at figuring out what is
wrong and come up with ways on how to
solve the problem.
7. With this strength I am able to overcome
any problem that may arise within the
classroom.
Ex: Students were talking during a lesson
and would not stop. I stopped everything I
was doing and just stood in the front of the
classroom. Students knew why I stopped
and students were trying to get the class to
quiet down themselves.
8. Anyone with the relator strength tend to
have close relationships with others and
have a real sense of satisfaction in working
with others and achieving goals.
9. I am able to use this strength within the
school by forming close bonds with the
other teachers and students. We feel
comfortable around each other where we
can go to each other if any problems arise.
Ex: Working with my colleagues to further
students progress. Coming up with
solutions if problems arise.
10. Generally, people who are considered to
be an achiever are hard working and take
great satisfaction from being busy and
productive.
They also have a great deal of stamina.
11. As an achiever I tend to always be working
and want to do the best that I can. I always
strive to be the best that I can and want to do
the best job I can for my students.
I am constantly going over lesson plans to
find ways that I can change them so that they
will be most beneficial to the students. I don’t
stop when a lesson plan is finished and I
always look to see what can be changed.
12. People who share the responsibility
strength tend own up to what they say that
they will do.
They are committed to values such as
honesty and loyalty.
13. I am able to show responsibility during my lessons
because I always put up an aim that I want the
students to know by the end of the period. I tell myself
that I will make the material easy for the students to
grasp and want to do this to the best of my ability.
I consider myself to be honest with my students by
telling them what they want to know and what is on my
mind at points which they seem to appreciate.
I can considered to be loyal to my students because I
want to always look out for them and be there for them.
Even if it is not in the classroom I want to help them to
the best of my abilities and tell the students just that.
14. To be deliberative one must be described
by the serious care that they take when
making decisions or choices.
These types of people are able to
anticipate obstacles that may arise.
15. When making lesson plans I try to
anticipate where confusion might arise. I
write down some questions that might
come up from the students and try to find
appropriate answers to these questions.
Able to come up with different ways to
solve math equations and pick what I think
is best and easiest for the students.
16. Strengths can support myself as a teacher
mentor by:
• Resolving problems between teacher candidate and
mentor
• Form powerful relationship with teacher candidate.
• Be productive with candidate and work hard together.
• Loyal and honest towards candidate. Will work
towards what both desire.
• Make important decisions, anticipate problems and
come up with appropriate solutions when these
problems arise.
17. I tend to work well with others and strive to
get each task completed.
Try to keep everyone that I work with
content and cause little trouble as
possible.
Sense of accomplishment when not only
myself but colleagues are successful in
what we set out to do in the school.
This can lead to success and have a
positive impact on the students.
18. My strengths based on StrengthsFinder
2.0 show that I can be an effective teacher

I am able to be:
• Responsible
• Problem solver
