2. HOW DO YOUR
PRODUCT USE OR
CHALLENGE
CONVENTION AND HOW
DO THEY REPRESENT
SOCIAL GROUP OR
ISSUE.
3. • Conventions are generally accepted way of doing something.
There are general conventions in any medium. All
documentaries have some kind of conventions.
• Most of my camera angles were similar to those present in
documentaries. • But, majority of the angles were WIDE SHOT
and MID SHOT.
• This product is the docudrama showing you and telling about
USTAAD JEE who teaches poor children for free of cost.
• My product is the combination of two different time of
documentaries, observational and expository. When it comes
to observational, the conventions I followed are:
• It have short interviews • There is a use of actual recording-
real events • There is a use of natural lightening, throughout.
And when it comes to conventions for expository
documentary, they are: Use of voice over • Use of images, text
and titles • Editing
• At some point I have challenged the conventions as my product is
not purely documentaries with typical interviews only, I have
added some flash backs to make it a docudrama.
6. SOCIAL ISSUES
•The main social issue that is highlighted in
my docudrama is the high rate of illiteracy
amongst the lower class in our society.
•Children of the lower class don’t get a
chance to get proper education in the recent
era, however the concept of sending their
children to school is same as before.
•Only few of the students tend to finish
their school life, many of them don’t get a
chance to study further after they have
passed grade 5.
•The number of children who starts to study
are around 1000 but as they get upgraded
the number of children reduces and as they
reach secondary level the number of
students are 129.
7. • The social issue that can also be
derived from my product could be
the illiteracy rate amongst female
students. The ratio of boys is more
than girls in a particular school.
• Ustaad jee is the inspiration for every
person in the society. He tend to
spread free education amongst the
lower class and he say "that I have
seen a lot of talented students
amongst these children”.

8. SOCIAL GROUPS
Social group who are
most interested in
watching the
documentary Is 40 to
70 but as my product is
a docudrama and
purely based on
biography of an old
man, many people will
tend to watch. But the
audience which will
take more interest in it
would be age between
15 to 30 as they are
energetic enough to
make a difference.
9. HOW DO THE ELEMENT
OF YOUR PRODUCTION
WORK TOGETHER TO
CREATE THE SCENE OF
BRANDING.
10. •Branding is an important element for the success of a particular media product.
I intend to create a synergy throughout three of my production works a
docudrama, a film festival invite and a webpage in order to market my
docudrama “USTAAD JEE”
•The post card is an invite of a film festival where my docudrama will be
screening. I have used a specific picture in every element to market my product
in a unique way.
•The color scheme that I chose for my poster and website are dark to put a sad
story on a picture and to notify people with current situation of our society.
•As I made my website I wanted to continue linking my elements hence as
backgrounds for the webpage I used stills from the docudrama itself, and
continued with the same black and white theme, this further created a link
amongst my production works.

12. HOW DO YOUR PRODUCT
ENGAGE WITH THE AUDIENCE
AND HOW WOULD THEY BE
DISTRIBUTED AS REAL MEDIA
PRODUCT.
13. •The target audience for my product is the general audience and
with this documentary I was able to engage with the audience by
showing them and make them aware of the current situation of our
society.
•Another way in which the audience get to engage with this product
is getting the motivation from Ustaad jee who teaches children for
free ,who belong from small poor family who cannot afford to send
their children to school.
•Ustaad jee is the muse for everyone in the society and his
dedication towards these kind of children is inspirational.
People like him are rare in our society. Spending their life with
these kids is not an easy task.
•The USP of my docudrama is FREE EDUCATION.
14. If this product would be distributed as a media text,
It will be done through social media such as Face
book, You tube, daily motion and etc as these are
mostly used by People of upper class and it is the
best to distribute your product in low cost or for free.
Another way would be distributing this product
through DVDs at local book stores and Music stores
to get the attention of those people who still value
the purpose of going to These stores to get the DVDs
and through this I can target the middle class
population, So that they could get motivated from
Ustaad jee work and try to bring a change within
them. My product could also be distributed in TV
channels like A&E, which is a united states Channel
and mostly shows documentaries, biography and
crime dramas. And CNN Which is most popular
amongst the upper class family.
15. How did you integrate
technology(Software ,
hardware and online)In this
project.
16. The software I used for my movie
opening sequence were:
• Sonny Vegas for editing and
filter.
• YouTube for inspiration
• Sound cloud for background
music.
• Google for pictures.
• Vimeo for inspiration.
• Video maker for fade out
technique.
•Bootstraps to prepare my
website.
•Paint to make my poster.
17. The Hardware I used for my docudrama were:
•The camera ( Cannon D1200)and the 18-55 mm lenses were used to
take pictures and videos that were required for this project.
•The laptop was used to store the footage, to edit to come up with the
final product, to blog and create my website.
•The tripod – used to pan, take high angle shots while the
microphone was used to record a voice over, its purpose is to give the
audience information that they do not know.
18. ONLINE For this project I used bootstrap to
create my webpage, who’s purpose is to sell the
documentary. Which is brought out by the
information. I wanted it to be attractive and
eye catching so I added many images. I use
word press to blog which was used to upload
my project so that people can peek on those
few and rare people who tend to spend their
life teaching poor children.
