Comenious was the first educator who
introduced and advocated the use of audio
visual aids in teaching during sixteenth
century.
He was the exponent of sense realism,
which means when all senses are engaged
in learning
Camenious made rich contribution to
educational theory
In his book “Great Didactic” published in
1632 , he recommended attractive
classrooms, maximum sense appeal and
illustrated text books.
The use of pictures in textbooks are his
contribution.
Charts, pictures and models in teaching is
also his contribution.
“Obric pictus” and “The gate of language
unlocked” in which he has given the ideas
of teaching FL via A-V aids.
