https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkeCNeHcmXY
This women’s work was written for the film ‘She’s having a baby’. It is about the exciting
but frightening event of childbirth. The film She’s having a baby is when a man finds
out that his wife and unborn child are in danger when the song plays in the film it is
with flash backs of when the couple we happy. Maxwell’s version is a cover of the
original sung by Kate Bush. The song was written and performed in 1988.
7. BACKGROUND
About the video:
Maxwell’s cover of this women's work start with pictures of Maxwell and his lover this is
all done in black and white. In one of the pictures it shows that Maxwell's lover had
passed away and Maxwell later in the video sees a ghost of his lover in the middle
of the street and walked towards her. When walking towards her in the street he
falls into a grave full of water which would drown his sorrow, he looks up at the
cloud and that reveals the face of his lover. Towards the end of the video Maxwell
reminisces the loss of his lover and wants everything to go away.
The genre of this song is soul/RnB it also peaked in the US Billboard charts at 58 on
Billboard Hot 100 in 2002 and 16 on the hot RnB/Hip hop songs. The video has also
appeared in my favourite film Love and Basketball and also Stomp the Yard.
