12. Supervised Counselling
Practicum
Over the course of two years, there will be
200 hours of accumulated supervised
training hours where students will be
conducting counselling with supervision to
clients at respective organizations.
13. Personal Therapy
Aside from 200 hours of supervised
practicum, 70 hours will be allocated to
beginners or trainee counsellors to
attend personal therapy. This is in place
to allow future therapists to understand
counselling from a client’s point of view
and to develop patience in the
counselling process.
14. Applied Research
Dissertation gives you the opportunity to deepen your
applied research skills and conduct deep dive into a
topic of your passion.
A valuable and crucial avenue for you to develop you
critical thinking and analytic skills as a business leader.
A dissertation of 8,000 word has to be completed as a
final thesis for graduation from the programme so as to
determine that students are well-equipped with
research methodologies as well as practical skills.
16. Admission Criteria
• At least 21 years old
• A relevant bachelor’s degree in psychology or the
social sciences or an arts related subject; OR
• Non-relevant bachelor’s degree holders may be
required to undertake additional modules to fulfil
• the required credit points (The final decision rests
with the University)
• A minimum of 6.5 IELTS overall with no less than
5.5 in any band, or equivalent for graduates from
non-English programs
