PAGE ONE:
Panel 1: (Night time) Close up shot of Vernon, as he sleeps in
his bed. The room is darkened. To his left is a nightstand with
a pair of reading glasses, a bible, and an alarm clock. A dream
cloud hovers above his head that contains an old church. He
faces upward and the blanket covers his torso.
Vernon is older, in his mid 60’s. He has black salt and pepper
hair (and eyebrows) with lots of gray undertones. He is
moderately attractive with chizzled features, a strong jawline,
and relatively good skin with only a few distinguished wrinkles
(crows feet and such). (Make him look as if he is in great
shape for his age).
Caption: Vernon dreams of his life back in his hometown in
Northern Michigan where he served as a priest at the local
Protestant church.
Panel 2: (Blurred out edges of the artwork inside the panel to
illustrate dream scenario) – Wide shot of dream sequence set in
a church with a large crucifix that hangs on the wall behind
the stage. There are many lit candles and flowers placed on
each corner of the stage.
Vernon (who looks much younger; around 25-30 years old) is
center stage dressed in priest attire, wearing a long black
robe with a white strip placed through the openings of his
collar (white square). He gives a sermon amongst a large group
of people. We can only see the peoples’ backsides as they face
toward Vernon, who stands behind a podium.
Vernon: We must all love one another, despite the shortcomings
that separate us. We are all born as God’s children, and we all
serve a greater purpose in the eyes of the lord.
Panel 3: Pull back to see the room from Vernon’s point of view.
We see the back of Vernon’s head in the bottom right corner of
the panel. He focuses in on a little girl who stands at the
back left corner of the room. She wears a little white dress,
has short wavy black hair, and a white bow-barrette clipped on
the top right portion of her hair. She gives off a glowing aura
that makes her the center of Vernon’s attention.
Caption: Vernon’s dream, though beginning with such promise of
being a sweet reminiscent memory of a life he once knew,
quickly turns to a nightmare that he will never forget.
Caption: The seemingly lovely, angelic child dressed in white
is no more than a trickster vessel of a greater evil that will
soon reveal her true nature…
Panel 4: Bird’s eye view of Vernon. He screams in horror as his
arms reach up towards the sky and his body falls through a
giant hole edged out by the caved-in floor beneath him. Wild
red, orange, and blue flames circulate around him as he falls
into a pit of hell fire.
Vernon: AAAHHH!
Panel 5: SPLASH PAGE - An extra wide panel of the same little
girl. She now wears a black dress and has black empty eyes like
a demon. Vernon crouches down on the other side of the panel.
He holds up his bible and expresses a dramatic look of fear and
horror. A plethora of silhouettes of demonic entities surround
them, and a few are hidden in a large wall of blazing fire.
Panel 6: The little girl points her tiny finger at Vernon with
a strip of glowing green light that shoots from the tip of her
finger to Vernon’s chest. Vernon is outlined in a glowing green
outer aura from the light beam. She uses supernatural powers to
raise Vernon up above the ground and strike him with her green
lightning rod of deadly electricity.
Vernon’s bible lies beneath his floating body as it begins to
disintegrate in a puddle of molten lava. The little girl
giggles at Vernon’s expense, while Vernon screams in horror and
unbearable pain.
Little girl: He he he…
Vernon: AAAAAHHHHHH!
PAGE TWO:
Panel 1: (Now in day time) Revert back to the same bedroom
scene in the panel on page 1 of Vernon waking up from his
nightmare and sitting up right in his bed. His hazel eyes bug
out and sweat droplets trickle down his forehead. A look of
fear and horror appears across his face as he’s just
experienced the worst nightmare of his life.
Vernon: GASP! What a horrible nightmare!
Caption: After awakening from his nightmare, he takes a few
minutes to gather his composure so that he can ready to start
his day.
Caption: One could say that Vernon’s morning routine is rather
repetitive.
Panel 2: Full view of Vernon, who brushes his teeth in the
bathroom mirror. He faces the mirror dead on and we see a
slight side angle view, but mostly showing his backside. His
front portion is visible from the reflection in the mirror. He
wears a white T-shirt and plaid boxer shorts. We don’t see his
legs; we only see Vernon from the top portion of his boxer
shorts and upward.
Caption: First, he brushes his teeth, counting each stroke and
swipe of the toothbrush a total of thirty times for each row of
teeth.
Vernon: One, two, three, four….
Panel 3: Side view of Vernon, who sits on the bed and places
one leg into his khaki pants. He wears a light blue collared
shirt with long sleeves and it’s unbuttoned with his white t-
shirt showing underneath. His tie with different shades of blue
crisscross pattern designs hangs behind his neck and over his
shoulders (like a scarf).
Caption: He gets dressed.
Panel 4: Back view of Vernon, who walks out of his front door
into the sunlight. We see his red Toyota Prius parked in the
driveway and various trees and bushes scattered along the
street. He has a cup of coffee in his left hand, his car keys
in his right hand, and a newspaper tucked under his arm.
Caption: And lastly, he takes his coffee and paper to go and
heads to work.
Panel 5: Side view of Vernon as he drives his car to work. We
see the black leather interior of the car, his cup of coffee in
the cup holder, and his newspaper in the passenger seat. He
faces the front of the road with both hands on the wheel.
Caption: Vernon, better known by his colleagues as Principal
Stern, is the Principal of Steam Meadow High School in the
small town of Steam, Oregon.
Panel 6: Wide shot of Vernon, who sits at his desk with papers
piled up on each side, his cup of coffee, a few small trophies
and knickknacks, and his name plate. He focuses in on a piece
of paper that he holds towards his face.
Caption: Because of a new increase in the school budget, Vernon
has been given the approval to hire a new teacher for the
mathematics department. He finds particular interest in the
resume of Jennifer Reid.
Panel 7: Bird’s eye view of Vernon at his desk. We see the top
to middle portion of Jennifer Reid’s resume and her picture is
paper clipped to the top right portion. She is strikingly
beautiful with a radiant smile, shoulder length wavy auburn
hair, emerald green eyes, and full red lips. The resume lists
her name, date of birth (January 20th
, 1988), address (401
Blueberry Lane), and education (Associates in Education,
Bachelors in Mathematics). Vernon holds his work phone up to
his ear with the other hand.
Caption: Vernon calls Jennifer to set up an interview.
Vernon: I look forward to speaking with you in person Ms. Reid.
Have a wonderful day!
PAGE THREE:
Panel 1: Full shot of Jennifer, who walks down the school
hallway. Rows of pale green lockers on each side of her, and a
few students and faculty (on either side) stop in their tracks
They express a look of awe and amazement at her. We see her
face and body straight on and she wears a purple blouse and
tight black pencil skirt with black strappy stilettos and a
white purse hanging on her arm. Her hair is pulled back in a
bun with a pencil placed through it and she wears a pair of
eyeglasses with dark green frames that accentuate the green
tint in her eyes. A confident smirk appears across her face.
Caption: Jennifer struts down the hall while people stare in
wonder at her unmistakable beauty and charm.
Student 1: Woah! Who’s that?
Student 2: I don’t know, but she’s smoking hot!
Panel 2: Wide panel of Jennifer and Vernon having their
interview. Vernon sits behind his desk while we see Jennifer
sitting in a chair across from him, showing her at a slight
side angle accentuating her gorgeous crossed legs. They are
tipped back in their chairs laughing hysterically, eyes shut
and mouths gaping open in hilarity. Vernon laughs so hard that
he cries a little.
Caption: The interview was a smashing success and Vernon hires
Jennifer right on the spot.
Panel 3: Still in his office finishing up the interview, Vernon
is now resting his elbows on the desk holding his pen pointed
towards Jennifer. Jennifer is still at the same side angle from
panel 2. Vernon expresses a look of slight puzzlement.
Caption: Vernon gets the sense that he knows Jennifer from
somewhere. Almost as if he knew her from a past life…
Vernon: I can’t help but to feel as if we’ve met before.
There’s something about you, but I can’t quite put my finger on
it.
Jennifer: Oh, I highly doubt that we’ve ever met. I just moved
to this town a few weeks ago. But I do get that a lot. People
are always saying that I remind them of someone, so I’m used to
it by now.
Vernon: Well that must be it then. Just have one of those movie
star faces I guess.
Jennifer: You sure know how to make a girl blush, Mr. Stern.
Vernon: Oh please, call me Vernon.
Jennifer: You got it… Vernon.
Panel 4: Set in the same school hallway as panel 1, we see
Jennifer who is talking to Lily Cushybottom. Lily wears a white
blouse and black dress pants. She has blonde hair that is
pulled back in a ponytail and big, blue eyes. Lily is wildly
overzealous and looks at Jennifer with intense eagerness and
excitement. Lily places her hand on Jennifer’s shoulder as
Jennifer’s demeanor remains cool, calm, and collected with her
arms crossed.
Caption: The next day, Jennifer meets the 10th
grade biology
teacher, Lily Cushybottom. The two quickly become friends and
even talk about spending time together outside of school so
that Jennifer can become acquainted with the new town.
Lily: I’d be happy to show you around the school, and even take
you out for a drink sometime! It’ll be so much fun!
Jennifer: Sounds great.
PAGE FOUR:
Panel 1: Two shot of Lily and Jennifer. They drink wine at
Lily’s home. Lily wears footy pajamas, like that of a child
would wear. Jennifer wears a silk lavender negligée with a
matching silk robe. They sit on Lily’s pale green couch and
face one another.
The walls are painted a pale pink color with ivory wood
furniture and pictures and figurines of unicorns (with color
hues of purple, baby blue, and light gray) scattered around the
apartment. There is a coffee table in front of them, with a big
bowl of popcorn in a red bowl, a large bag of MM’s, and a
bottle of red wine.
Caption: Lily invites Jennifer for a movie night at Lily’s
house.
Lily: So, what would you like to watch? I’ve got Legally
Blonde, Runaway Bride, The Notebook, all seasons of Sex and the
City on DVD with bonus features -
Jennifer: - You pick. I really don’t mind either way.
Lily: Well, it looks like Legally Blonde it is!
Panel 2: Same setting as panel 1. Close up on Jennifer. She
holds her glass of wine up close to her face.
Caption: It seems as if Jennifer is less interested in the
movie, but in fact, a whole lot more interested to know about
her new boss.
Jennifer: Actually, I was wondering if you could tell me a
little bit about Principal Stern. What do you know about him?
Panel 3: Same setting. Close up on Lily.
Lily: Vernon? Well, I’ve known Vernon years. I don’t know all
that much about him other than he used to be a priest or
something before moving here. He keeps to himself most of the
time, though he spends a lot of his free time at the Steam Bar.
Oh, and did I mention that we’re neighbors? He lives just down
the street on the corner of Cherry Hill and Bailey in that big
yellow house.
Panel 4: Same setting. Close up on Jennifer. She holds up her
glass of wine and smirks.
Caption: It seems as if Jennifer has a lot more up her sleeve
than just gathering innocent information about Vernon.
Jennifer: Good to know…
PAGE FIVE:
Panel 1: It’s nighttime at Steam Bar (crappy dive bar). Wide
shot of Vernon, who sits at the bar talking to Tom. Vernon sits
on a stool and we see him at a slight side angle from his
backside. He has a beer sitting in front of him atop the bar
counter. Tom stands behind the bar and cleans out a glass with
a white rag towel. Tom is tall and handsome, with brown hair
and a light 5 o’clock shadow. Next to Tom is Sallie. She has
long curly black hair, blue eyes, and large breasts. She wears
a skintight black leather top and she has tattoos covering her
arms.
Caption: What starts out as a typical night at Steam Bar
quickly arises to a rather interesting surprise in the works.
Tom: So how is everything going with the new teacher you hired?
Vernon: It seems to be going well. No complaints here so far.
Panel 2: Shot from behind the bar (Vernon and Tom’s POV). We
see the sides of Tom and Vernon accentuating their backsides.
They look towards the front door. The space between them is
occupied by a shot of Jennifer coming through the front door.
She looks amazing, dressed in a denim mini skirt, cowboy boots,
a cowboy hat, and a tiny red bandana tied around her torso
(barely covering her breasts and her perfect waist is showing).
Her hair is tied in a loose braid that hangs down her right
shoulder.
Caption: Surprise!
Vernon: Ms. Reid?
Tom: Woah! That’s her? No way! You didn’t tell me she was a
fox!
Vernon: Hey Tom, I’m just as surprised as you are. I’ve never
seen her like that.
Panel 3: Shot of Jennifer leaning up against the bar counter
next to Vernon. Vernon and Tom are in the same position as
panel 2, though the frame focuses more so on Jennifer. She has
on hand on Vernon’s shoulder and a beaming smile across her
face.
Caption: There is definitely something different about Jennifer
tonight. She has a certain spark in her eye…
Jennifer: Hi Vernon! How are you? Funny seeing you here.
Vernon: I’m alright, thanks for asking. It’s even funnier
seeing you here Ms. Reid. I’m in here all the time.
Jennifer: Well isn’t that great? Now I know where to find you,
ha ha ha!
Vernon: Ha ha ha!
Panel 4: Closer up on Jennifer and Vernon giggling to one
another. Tom, who tries to lean in on their conversation a bit,
occupies the space between Vernon and Jennifer. Vernon and
Jennifer have their eyes shut and their mouths gape open in
laughter. Tom has his hand in a fist below his mouth as if he
is coughing. His eyebrows are slightly raised up to show as if
he is slightly annoyed.
Caption: Are Jennifer and Vernon flirting? Well, whatever
they’re doing, Tom certainly wants in on it.
Tom: Ahem!
Panel 5: Vernon introduces Tom and Jennifer. We zoom outward to
see all three to occupy a wider shot. Vernon’s arm is slightly
extended towards Jennifer and his hand is open (fingers close
together) as if he is introducing the two. Tom has a huge smile
on his face as he lets out his hand to shake Jennifer’s.
Jennifer is sitting at the same stool next to Vernon and she
shakes Tom’s hand.
Vernon: I’m so sorry Tom. I guess we got a little carried away.
Tom, meet Ms. Jennifer Reid.
Tom: It’s a pleasure to meet you Ms. Reid.
Jennifer: Oh please, call me Jenny.
Panel 6: Wide shot of the countertop that is now filled with
empty shot glasses, beer bottles, and a half filled martini
glass with a toothpick stabbed through two olives floating in
the glass. Jennifer stands up and throws back a tequila shot as
she bends backward slightly to retrieve all of the liquid into
her mouth and down her throat. Vernon still sits in the same
stool next to Jennifer and he takes a swig from his beer. Tom
stands behind the bar and pours more shots with a big, excited
smile on his face.
Caption: Vernon hasn’t seen this wilder side of Jennifer
before. But one can certainly infer that he doesn’t quite feel
comfortable with it considering that she is a well-respected
teacher at his high school.
Vernon: I think you might’ve had just about enough Ms. Reid.
Perhaps I should call you a cab.
Tom: Don’t be ridiculous Vernon. I’d be happy to take her home
and let Sallie close up for the night.
Panel 7: Same wide shot as panel 6, but now Jennifer raises her
arms in the air as if she is dancing. She has a drunken glaze
over her eyes and she expresses a look of wild excitement and
thrill.
Jennifer: Come on guys! I just got here! This party’s not over
yet! Now which one of you boys would like to show a lady a good
time tonight?
Panel 8: Front view of Sherriff Colt. He enters the bar and
wears his navy blue police uniform. He is extremely handsome
like a male model, with his blonde hair, blue eyes, and
perfectly chizzled features. We see Vernon, Jennifer, and Tom’s
backside at a slight angle as if they are looking at the front
door at Colt.
Jennifer: Well, well, well… And who is that gorgeous specimen?
Vernon: That’s our county Sherriff, Sherriff Colt.
Jennifer: Damn. Looks like I’ve found my ride home for the
evening.
Panel 9: Wide shot of Colt and Jennifer at the pool table. We
see Tom and Vernon at a slight side angle from the backside,
located to the far right side of the panel looking at Colt and
Jennifer. Colt leans over to make a shot with his pool stick.
Jennifer lays atop the wooden edge of the pool table on her
side, as her long sculpted legs lay flat against the edge, the
front of her curvy body is shown, and her elbow holds her up on
the table while her arm hangs down on the table. She has a
seductive look on her face in which her eyelids are slightly
lowered and her lips purse up to a faint smirk.
Caption: Jennifer’s sultriness is almost too much for the young
Sherriff to bear and he finds himself unable to resist her
advances.
Jennifer: Great game Sherriff, but why don’t we finish up this
game over at my place?
Sherriff Colt: Sounds like a plan.
Vernon: Oh goodness gracious.
Tom: Damn! I was so close!
PAGE SIX:
Panel 1: Early morning at the high school. Full front shot of
Vernon walking down a hallway (same hallway from page 3) He
wears dark gray pants, a dark blue long sleeved collared shirt,
black dress shoes, and a multi-toned blue tie with diagonal
stripes. He holds a notepad in his hand.
Caption: Still a bit confused by Jennifer’s wild behavior from
the night before, Vernon decides to check up on her class to
make sure that everything is running smoothly.
Vernon: Whistle, whistle, whistle.
Panel 2: We see the back angle of Vernon’s head looking into
Jennifer’s classroom window. Jennifer is speaking and writing
words on a chalkboard to the right side of the classroom and
her students sit at their desks quietly and listen to her
lecture.
Caption: And as you can see, Jennifer isn’t skipping a beat.
But how is that possible given how much she had to drink last
night?
Jennifer: To find the product of “X”, you must first cross-
multiply the numerator in the first fraction by the denominator
in the second fraction. Once you find the product, you will
then divide this number by the detonator of the first fraction.
Vernon: Wow. I guess Ms. Reid can certainly hold her liquor.
Panel 3: Shot of the back of Vernon’s head from the left side
of the panel. We see Vernon returning to his office and his
door is opened. Sherriff Colt, as well as two other detectives
seize Vernon’s computer along with various document folders.
Caption: Uh oh. Something’s gone wrong here.
Vernon: Woah, hey! Excuse me! Who are you guys? What’s going on
in here?
Panel 4: Same backside shot of Vernon from the left side of the
panel. Sherriff Colt and the first detective approach Vernon
and explain to him what is happening. The second detective
continues gathering documents.
Sherriff Colt: I’m sorry Vern, but this is pretty serious.
Perhaps you should get a lawy--
Detective 1: --Hello Principal Stern, my name is Detective
Peabody from the Special Victim’s Unit at the Steam Sheriff’s
Office Headquarters. We’re here investigating a possible lead
on a child pornography and lewd activity case that was
introduced to us by an anonymous source. We have a warrant to
search your office, as well as the entire school premises.
Vernon: My goodness! Child pornography? Lewd activity? This is
preposterous! I am a man of God, sir. There must be some sort
of mistake!
Detective 1: I’m afraid not. In fact, you’re gonna have to come
with us back to the station for questioning.
Panel 5: Shot of Vernon and Detective 1 who sit across from one
another in an interrogation room. The room is gray and empty
with nothing but a lamp, a desk, and two chairs at each end.
The second detective observes from the corner of the room with
his arms crossed. On the desk are a voice recorder and a
notepad and pen in front of the detective. Vernon has a look of
confusion and nervousness as he buries his forehead in his
palm. Detective 1 is calm and he rests his elbows on the desk
while his hands lay flat against the table’s surface.
Vernon: This isn’t right. None of this is right. I’ve never in
my life looked at child pornography, nor have I ever had any
interest in such perversion!
Detective 1: Well then, if it wasn’t you, who else could it
have been?
Vernon: I don’t know detective. I can’t imagine anyone trying
to frame me for this.
Detective 1: Well, until this investigation is no longer
pending, you will be put on temporary paid suspension. This
means that you can’t enter the school premises until our
investigation is complete. You are allowed to finish out the
week and gather some belongings. Your suspension starts on
Friday evening.
PAGE SEVEN:
Panel 1: Jennifer opens a window to Vernon’s home. We see the
back of her as her arms raise the window opening upwards. She
looks to her right, making sure that no one else is looking.
Caption: Well, well, well… Looks like Lily’s information has
given Jennifer the edge that she needs to fulfill her ulterior
motives…
Panel 2: Bird’s eye view of Jennifer, as she looks at an old
black and white photograph of Vernon and a very young woman
(approximately 18 years old). The woman in the picture is
beautiful, with wavy hair, big beautiful light colored eyes,
and full lips. Vernon looks like a younger version of himself
(approximately 20 years old) with his hair parted to the side
and wearing a suit. (Make their style look like the style of
that era; around the 1960’s).
Caption: Jennifer holds up a photograph that seems oddly
familiar.
Panel 3: Close up on Jennifer’s eyes. The rest of her face is
covered by the backside of the picture. Her eyes squint as if
making a face of pure anger and disgust. A frown line appears
between her eyebrows and the top of her nose wrinkles up
slightly. Her eyes are black like a demon (no pupils) and the
part of her eyes that should be white are blood red.
Caption: And so it begins…
PAGE EIGHT:
Panel 1: Vernon walks through the school hallway, a row of
lockers at each side as he holds his cup of coffee in one hand
and carries a box full of his office belongings in the other. A
picture frame, some knickknacks, and files stick out from the
top of the box. He wears a white collared long-sleeved shirt,
black pants, and black dress shoes. He expresses of look of
depression and exhaustion, as he looks down at his shoes.
Caption: Poor Vernon. How could something so horrible happen to
such a good man?
Vernon: I can’t believe this is happening.
Panel 2: We see Vernon’s head at a side angle from the back as
he looks into the window of Jennifer’s classroom. There are
desks, bookshelves, a chalkboard, and various educational
posters all around the room (everything that one would expect
to see in any typical classroom). She points her finger at a
stack of books and they magically float in the air. A green,
lightning-like laser beam ejects from her finger to the books,
and the books glow with a green outer aura.
Vernon: GASP!
Panel 3: Close up on Vernon’s face through the window. His eyes
are wide and he expresses a look of horror.
Caption: It seems as if Jennifer isn’t who she appears to be.
Vernon: Dear God! It’s her!
Panel 4: Close up on Vernon’s coffee falling to the ground in
front of the classroom door. We see his box of belongings on
the ground. We also see his hand slightly open and his right
leg (in pants) to the left of the dropping coffee cup.
(Accentuate on the liquid leaving the cup early, flowing upward
as the cup falls towards the ground.)
Caption: Let’s hope that she doesn’t hear the glass shatter.
Panel 5: Same classroom setting. Close up on Jennifer’s black
demon eyes looking straight on.
Caption: Too late.
PAGE NINE:
Panel 1: Close up on Vernon’s face, still exhibiting fear and
horror. Now his mouth gapes open slightly and his eyebrows are
even more raised.
Caption: Vernon is not just horrified by what he’s just seen,
but he is experiencing a dreadful sense of déjà vu.
Caption: You see, Jennifer Reid is in fact not Jennifer Reid at
all. But actually, someone that Vernon once knew long ago…
Panel 2: In flashback panel 1 – Vernon wears priest attire and
a beautiful young woman stands to the left of him (the same
woman in the old photograph from page 5). On the other side of
him, Vernon shakes hands with a stranger outside of a church.
Caption: Back when Vernon was a priest for the Protestant
Church, he was married to a beautiful woman named Sarah.
Panel 3: In flashback panel 2 - Two shot of Vernon and Sarah;
Sarah holds a little baby girl wrapped in a blanket. The baby
looks like Sarah (same eyes and hair color). Vernon’s arms wrap
around Sarah’s back as if he’s hugging her from the back.
Caption: Vernon and Sarah had a baby girl named Emily.
Panel 4: In flashback panel 3 – Shot of Emily, Vernon, and
Sarah in child’s bedroom. The room is a light purple color with
a purple and white polka dotted comforter on the bed, lots of
toys on the ground, cartoon posters on the walls, and whatever
one would see in a 5 year old girl’s room. Emily is now 5 years
old and looks even more like Sarah. She wears a little white
dress with a white ribbon in her wavy auburn hair. She points
her finger at Sarah with a green glowing beam of light exiting
from her finger and connecting to Sarah’s elevated body.
Sarah’s body is outlined with a green, glowing aura as her body
lifts above the ground. Vernon is on his knees crying out in
horror.
Caption: Emily was different than any other little girl. She
had supernatural powers.
Caption: Her powers were so strong, and her lack of control
over her powers resulted in Sarah’s death.
Vernon: Emily! Noooo!
Panel 5: In flashback panel 4 – Bird’s eye view of Vernon as he
signs away his parental rights, admitting her into a mental
institution. On the form, we see something like, “I, Vernon
Stern (written in his handwriting above a dotted line), hereby
consent to the child, Emily Stern (Vernon’s handwriting), as a
permanent patient at The Harbor Mental Institute.” (You can be
creative with the name of the institution and make the form
look legitimate.)
Caption: Vernon sent Emily to a psychiatric facility.
Panel 6: In flashback panel 5 – Superior (upward) shot looks up
at Emily who raises her tiny hand up on the window (on a higher
floor of the building). She looks downward at Vernon. A single
teardrop slides down her cheek. We see the back of Vernon’s
head in the bottom right hand corner of the panel.
Caption: Where Vernon would leave her forever, never to be seen
or heard from again.
PAGE TEN:
Panel 1: SPLASH PAGE (Outside of Flashback panel). Front view
of Vernon as he drives his car. He is on his cell phone leaving
a voice message for Tom. He is shouting and has a look of
extreme urgency. His eyes are wide and he has one hand on the
steering wheel and the other hand raised outward as if he is
gesturing his words with his hands.
Caption: In a panic, Vernon rushes home while leaving a message
for Tom.
SFX: BEEP!
Vernon: Tom! You gotta get to my house as soon as possible!
It’s an emergency! Jennifer isn’t who she says she is! She’s
out to get me! Bring everyone! Sheriff Colt, Sallie, everyone!
I’ll explain everything when you get here! And bring weapons!
All of them! I’m scared for my life here man. Please hurry!
SFX: BEEP!
Panel 2: Side view of Vernon’s driveway. Vernon’s car screeches
to a holt and his back two tires slightly elevate above the
ground while the front of his car points slightly towards the
ground. We see Vernon with his eyes shut tightly and his teeth
show. He expresses a look of dread and fright (as if he’s just
cheated a near death experience.)
Caption: Vernon rushes home to figure out his next move.
Vernon: Phew! That was a close one.
Panel 3: Bird’s eye view of a receipt from Emily’s mental
institution. The phone number to the institution is highlighted
in yellow. We see the back of Vernon’s head and he is holding
his home phone on his right ear.
Caption: Vernon frantically calls the institution to get some
answers.
Vernon: This is Vernon Stern! I admitted my daughter, Emily
Stern, in your facility almost 20 years ago! Is she still
there? Please, for the love of God, tell me she’s still with
you!
Nurse on phone (speech bubble): I’m sorry Mr. Stern, but it’s
stated in Emily’s admission form that she was only to remain as
an impatient until she turned 18 years of age. Once she turned
18, she was considered as an adult and was given the option of
enrolling as an outpatient. She hasn’t been a part of this
institution for the last 6 years. We tried to get a hold of
you, but you moved and we couldn’t find a number listed for
you.
Panel 4: Close up on Vernon’s face. He still holds up the phone
next to his ear. He is dumbfounded and paralyzed with fear. His
eyes bug out and sweat droplets trickle down his forehead.
Nurse on phone (speech bubble): Is there anything else that I
can help you with Mr. Stern?
Panel 5: Vernon’s hands are pressing against the desk. One hand
is holding the phone that is on the hook. He is hunched over
the desk with a puzzled look on his face.
SFX: CLICK!
Caption: Things start to get a little bit clearer as he puts
the pieces of this puzzle together…
Vernon: Did she escape? Is she here to reconcile? Does she want
to hurt me? How did she find me? Why is she here? Dear god,
what does she want?
Panel 6: Super close up on Vernon’s eyes. They’re looking to
the right (our left). We see Emily (Jennifer) behind him
towards the left side of the panel with the old photograph in
her hand.
Caption: To Vernon’s horror, he realizes that he’s too late.
Emily: Hello father. Did you miss me?
Panel 7: Wide shot of Vernon and Emily (from their side angles)
in a standoff, with Vernon on the right and Emily on the left.
Emily still has the photograph in her hand. Vernon is paralyzed
with fear and expresses a look of pure terror.
Caption: Emily has Vernon backed up in a corner and he has no
way out.
Vernon: So it was you. You’re the one who framed me. You made
me out to be a monster. How could you--
Emily: --How could I? Really? You have the nerve to ask me
that? No, the question is, how could YOU!? How could you have
sent me away for all those years without so much as a goodbye?
A phone call? A Christmas card? NOTHING! You just left me there
like I was a piece of garbage!
Emily: Well, I guess your answers couldn’t possible validate
your utter negligence and abandonment. No. What you need is to
be taught a lesson, father.
PAGE ELEVEN:
Panel 1: Side view shot of a police vehicle that pulls up into
Vernon’s driveway. Tom, Sherriff Colt, and Sallie occupy the
car, all holding guns, knives, and any other weapon that they
can fit on them.
Caption: The gang arrives just in time. Let’s hope that they
can take on Emily and her lethal powers.
Sherriff Colt: Okay guys, wait here and have your radio on. I’m
gonna go secure the perimeter.
Panel 2: Back in Vernon’s living room from page 10, Emily and
Vernon are still in their stand off (same position). Emily is
still calm, cool, and collected while Vernon is scared to
death.
Emily: I framed you so that I can take over your job once your
imminent termination was completed. Just killing you would be
too easy. First, I wanted take away everything from you just
like you took away everything from me.
Vernon: Please, Emily. I thought that you were the product of
Lucifer himself! My god, you killed my wife! Your mother! I
thought that I was doing the right thing!
Emily: Well obviously, you were dead wrong.
Panel 3: Emily raises her arm and points directly to Vernon.
She lifts Vernon off of the ground with her green glowing laser
beam that ejects from her finger to Vernon’s body. Vernon is
high above the ground with a green glowing aura around him and
he expresses a look of pure pain and torture (as if the laser
is hurting him).
Emily: Prepare to learn your lesson father, cause it’s gonna be
a big one!
Panel 4: Back to a wide shot of the outside of Vernon’s house.
We see Sherriff Colt (from his left side but located at the
right of the panel) peaking through the window with his gun
drawn. Through the window, we see everything that takes place
in panel 3. Sherriff Colt has a police radio hooked onto his
while T-shirt and he radios in Sallie and Tom.
SFX: KKKRRRRK!
Sherriff Colt: Tom. Sallie. Colt here. We’ve got a major
situation. I need backup. Bring artillery. Sallie, go around
the back door. Tom, cover me up front. It’s alpha tango guys.
Let’s do this!
SFX: KKKRRRRK!
Tom: 10-4 Colt. We’ve got your 6.
Panel 5: Front view of the rear of Colt’s police cruiser.
Sallie rushes out from the left side of the back seat with a
shotgun and two handguns that hang on each side of her hips.
Tom rushes out of the passenger side with a large machine rifle
and a belt of bullet magazines that wrap from his shoulder down
around his belt (like a sashay).
Caption: Looks like the gang wasn’t messing around.
PAGE TWELVE:
Panel 1: SPLASH PAGE. Sherriff Colt kicks open the door with
his gun in hand. He expresses a look of anger and fierceness as
he uses all of his force to kick down the door.
Caption: Sherriff Colt sure knows how to make an entrance.
SFX: SMASH!
SFX: CRASH!
Panel 2: Wide shot from inside the house. Emily and Vernon are
still in the same position as in page 11, though Emily looks
over at Sherriff Colt who has his gun pointed directly at her
head. Emily also has her mouth open as if she’s speaking with a
slight smirk across her face. Sherriff colt has his knees bent
as he places himself in proper shooting stance. Vernon is still
engulfed in Emily’s laser beam and is raised high above the
ground.
Caption: It’s game time.
Sherriff Colt: Freeze! Put down your weapon!
Emily: Ha ha ha! Oh Sherriff, don’t be silly. I AM a weapon!
Sherriff Colt: Stop what you are doing or I’ll shoot!
Panel 3: Close up on Emily’s eyes. They are black and without
pupils (like demon eyes) the white part of her eyes are
bloodshot. Her eyebrows curve downward as to express pure
anger, and the top of her nose crinkles.
Caption: Uh oh. It looks like Emily is going into beast mode!
Emily: Is that so?
Panel 4: Emily now has both arms raised up as she elevates both
Vernon and Sherriff Colt with her green laser beam. Both Vernon
and Sherriff Colt express a look of excruciating pain. Sherriff
Colt’s handgun is falling midair to the ground. Emily laughs in
hilarity as her head tilts back and her mouth gapes wide open.
Caption: Beast mode may actually be an understatement.
Emily: Ha ha ha ha ha! Now what Mr. Policeman? Still think you
can take me on? Ha ha ha!
Panel 5: Same scenario as panel 3, but now we see Sallie and
Tom in the background behind them. Sallie stands to the right
of the panel behind Emily. Sallie holds up her shotgun and
points it directly at Emily’s back. Tom is in the left of the
panel kneeling down with his machine rifle pointed at Emily.
Sallie: No, bitch. But I sure can.
Panel 6: Same scenario, though we can only see the back of
Emily while her head turns behind her shoulder. Her arms are
still raised up and the lasers still shoot out from her fingers
to elevate Vernon and Sherriff Colt. As she looks behind her,
Emily expresses a look of dread and worry.
SFX: CHK-CHK!
Emily: Oh shit.
Panel 7: SPLASH PAGE. Wide shot of Sallie blowing away Emily
with the shotgun. Smoke comes out of the barrel of the shotgun.
We see the back of Emily elevated off of the ground as she
flies against the window. There’s a huge bloody hole in her
torso. Sherriff Colt and Vernon are on either side and they
fall to the ground, as Emily no longer has them paralyzed by
her laser beam.
SFX: BOOM!
Caption: And that’s all she wrote folks.
Panel 8: Side view of Emily’s dead body leaning up against the
bottom of the window. Her eyes are shut and she’s bleeding
profusely. Sherriff Colt is on the phone while Tom and Sallie
hold Vernon on either side of him, caressing his shoulders.
Vernon expresses a look of sadness.
Sherriff Colt: Yeah, this is Sherriff Andrew Colt here, badge
number 227680. I’m gonna need an ambulance and a possibly
coroner here ASAP. There’ve been shots fired and a woman is
dead.
Sallie: Everything is gonna be okay, Vern. She can’t come after
you anymore. You’re safe now.
Tom: And don’t worry about your job. Sherriff Colt will take
care of everything and back you up. We are always there for
you, remember that.
Vernon: Thank you guys. You saved my life. I don’t know if I
can ever repay you.
Sallie: Just be you, Vern. And keep coming back to the bar.
Everything will go back to normal in no time. We promise.
Caption: THE END.

  • 1. A RANCOROUS REUNION Avatara Garcia avataragarcia@gmail.com (561) 634 – 5077 PAGE ONE: Panel 1: (Night time) Close up shot of Vernon, as he sleeps in his bed. The room is darkened. To his left is a nightstand with a pair of reading glasses, a bible, and an alarm clock. A dream cloud hovers above his head that contains an old church. He faces upward and the blanket covers his torso. Vernon is older, in his mid 60’s. He has black salt and pepper hair (and eyebrows) with lots of gray undertones. He is moderately attractive with chizzled features, a strong jawline, and relatively good skin with only a few distinguished wrinkles (crows feet and such). (Make him look as if he is in great shape for his age). Caption: Vernon dreams of his life back in his hometown in Northern Michigan where he served as a priest at the local Protestant church. Panel 2: (Blurred out edges of the artwork inside the panel to illustrate dream scenario) – Wide shot of dream sequence set in a church with a large crucifix that hangs on the wall behind the stage. There are many lit candles and flowers placed on each corner of the stage. Vernon (who looks much younger; around 25-30 years old) is center stage dressed in priest attire, wearing a long black robe with a white strip placed through the openings of his collar (white square). He gives a sermon amongst a large group of people. We can only see the peoples’ backsides as they face toward Vernon, who stands behind a podium. Vernon: We must all love one another, despite the shortcomings that separate us. We are all born as God’s children, and we all serve a greater purpose in the eyes of the lord. Panel 3: Pull back to see the room from Vernon’s point of view. We see the back of Vernon’s head in the bottom right corner of the panel. He focuses in on a little girl who stands at the back left corner of the room. She wears a little white dress, has short wavy black hair, and a white bow-barrette clipped on the top right portion of her hair. She gives off a glowing aura that makes her the center of Vernon’s attention.
  • 2. Caption: Vernon’s dream, though beginning with such promise of being a sweet reminiscent memory of a life he once knew, quickly turns to a nightmare that he will never forget. Caption: The seemingly lovely, angelic child dressed in white is no more than a trickster vessel of a greater evil that will soon reveal her true nature… Panel 4: Bird’s eye view of Vernon. He screams in horror as his arms reach up towards the sky and his body falls through a giant hole edged out by the caved-in floor beneath him. Wild red, orange, and blue flames circulate around him as he falls into a pit of hell fire. Vernon: AAAHHH! Panel 5: SPLASH PAGE - An extra wide panel of the same little girl. She now wears a black dress and has black empty eyes like a demon. Vernon crouches down on the other side of the panel. He holds up his bible and expresses a dramatic look of fear and horror. A plethora of silhouettes of demonic entities surround them, and a few are hidden in a large wall of blazing fire. Panel 6: The little girl points her tiny finger at Vernon with a strip of glowing green light that shoots from the tip of her finger to Vernon’s chest. Vernon is outlined in a glowing green outer aura from the light beam. She uses supernatural powers to raise Vernon up above the ground and strike him with her green lightning rod of deadly electricity. Vernon’s bible lies beneath his floating body as it begins to disintegrate in a puddle of molten lava. The little girl giggles at Vernon’s expense, while Vernon screams in horror and unbearable pain. Little girl: He he he… Vernon: AAAAAHHHHHH!
  • 3. PAGE TWO: Panel 1: (Now in day time) Revert back to the same bedroom scene in the panel on page 1 of Vernon waking up from his nightmare and sitting up right in his bed. His hazel eyes bug out and sweat droplets trickle down his forehead. A look of fear and horror appears across his face as he’s just experienced the worst nightmare of his life. Vernon: GASP! What a horrible nightmare! Caption: After awakening from his nightmare, he takes a few minutes to gather his composure so that he can ready to start his day. Caption: One could say that Vernon’s morning routine is rather repetitive. Panel 2: Full view of Vernon, who brushes his teeth in the bathroom mirror. He faces the mirror dead on and we see a slight side angle view, but mostly showing his backside. His front portion is visible from the reflection in the mirror. He wears a white T-shirt and plaid boxer shorts. We don’t see his legs; we only see Vernon from the top portion of his boxer shorts and upward. Caption: First, he brushes his teeth, counting each stroke and swipe of the toothbrush a total of thirty times for each row of teeth. Vernon: One, two, three, four…. Panel 3: Side view of Vernon, who sits on the bed and places one leg into his khaki pants. He wears a light blue collared shirt with long sleeves and it’s unbuttoned with his white t- shirt showing underneath. His tie with different shades of blue crisscross pattern designs hangs behind his neck and over his shoulders (like a scarf). Caption: He gets dressed. Panel 4: Back view of Vernon, who walks out of his front door into the sunlight. We see his red Toyota Prius parked in the driveway and various trees and bushes scattered along the street. He has a cup of coffee in his left hand, his car keys in his right hand, and a newspaper tucked under his arm.
  • 4. Caption: And lastly, he takes his coffee and paper to go and heads to work. Panel 5: Side view of Vernon as he drives his car to work. We see the black leather interior of the car, his cup of coffee in the cup holder, and his newspaper in the passenger seat. He faces the front of the road with both hands on the wheel. Caption: Vernon, better known by his colleagues as Principal Stern, is the Principal of Steam Meadow High School in the small town of Steam, Oregon. Panel 6: Wide shot of Vernon, who sits at his desk with papers piled up on each side, his cup of coffee, a few small trophies and knickknacks, and his name plate. He focuses in on a piece of paper that he holds towards his face. Caption: Because of a new increase in the school budget, Vernon has been given the approval to hire a new teacher for the mathematics department. He finds particular interest in the resume of Jennifer Reid. Panel 7: Bird’s eye view of Vernon at his desk. We see the top to middle portion of Jennifer Reid’s resume and her picture is paper clipped to the top right portion. She is strikingly beautiful with a radiant smile, shoulder length wavy auburn hair, emerald green eyes, and full red lips. The resume lists her name, date of birth (January 20th , 1988), address (401 Blueberry Lane), and education (Associates in Education, Bachelors in Mathematics). Vernon holds his work phone up to his ear with the other hand. Caption: Vernon calls Jennifer to set up an interview. Vernon: I look forward to speaking with you in person Ms. Reid. Have a wonderful day!
  • 5. PAGE THREE: Panel 1: Full shot of Jennifer, who walks down the school hallway. Rows of pale green lockers on each side of her, and a few students and faculty (on either side) stop in their tracks They express a look of awe and amazement at her. We see her face and body straight on and she wears a purple blouse and tight black pencil skirt with black strappy stilettos and a white purse hanging on her arm. Her hair is pulled back in a bun with a pencil placed through it and she wears a pair of eyeglasses with dark green frames that accentuate the green tint in her eyes. A confident smirk appears across her face. Caption: Jennifer struts down the hall while people stare in wonder at her unmistakable beauty and charm. Student 1: Woah! Who’s that? Student 2: I don’t know, but she’s smoking hot! Panel 2: Wide panel of Jennifer and Vernon having their interview. Vernon sits behind his desk while we see Jennifer sitting in a chair across from him, showing her at a slight side angle accentuating her gorgeous crossed legs. They are tipped back in their chairs laughing hysterically, eyes shut and mouths gaping open in hilarity. Vernon laughs so hard that he cries a little. Caption: The interview was a smashing success and Vernon hires Jennifer right on the spot. Panel 3: Still in his office finishing up the interview, Vernon is now resting his elbows on the desk holding his pen pointed towards Jennifer. Jennifer is still at the same side angle from panel 2. Vernon expresses a look of slight puzzlement. Caption: Vernon gets the sense that he knows Jennifer from somewhere. Almost as if he knew her from a past life… Vernon: I can’t help but to feel as if we’ve met before. There’s something about you, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Jennifer: Oh, I highly doubt that we’ve ever met. I just moved to this town a few weeks ago. But I do get that a lot. People
  • 6. are always saying that I remind them of someone, so I’m used to it by now. Vernon: Well that must be it then. Just have one of those movie star faces I guess. Jennifer: You sure know how to make a girl blush, Mr. Stern. Vernon: Oh please, call me Vernon. Jennifer: You got it… Vernon. Panel 4: Set in the same school hallway as panel 1, we see Jennifer who is talking to Lily Cushybottom. Lily wears a white blouse and black dress pants. She has blonde hair that is pulled back in a ponytail and big, blue eyes. Lily is wildly overzealous and looks at Jennifer with intense eagerness and excitement. Lily places her hand on Jennifer’s shoulder as Jennifer’s demeanor remains cool, calm, and collected with her arms crossed. Caption: The next day, Jennifer meets the 10th grade biology teacher, Lily Cushybottom. The two quickly become friends and even talk about spending time together outside of school so that Jennifer can become acquainted with the new town. Lily: I’d be happy to show you around the school, and even take you out for a drink sometime! It’ll be so much fun! Jennifer: Sounds great.
  • 7. PAGE FOUR: Panel 1: Two shot of Lily and Jennifer. They drink wine at Lily’s home. Lily wears footy pajamas, like that of a child would wear. Jennifer wears a silk lavender negligée with a matching silk robe. They sit on Lily’s pale green couch and face one another. The walls are painted a pale pink color with ivory wood furniture and pictures and figurines of unicorns (with color hues of purple, baby blue, and light gray) scattered around the apartment. There is a coffee table in front of them, with a big bowl of popcorn in a red bowl, a large bag of MM’s, and a bottle of red wine. Caption: Lily invites Jennifer for a movie night at Lily’s house. Lily: So, what would you like to watch? I’ve got Legally Blonde, Runaway Bride, The Notebook, all seasons of Sex and the City on DVD with bonus features - Jennifer: - You pick. I really don’t mind either way. Lily: Well, it looks like Legally Blonde it is! Panel 2: Same setting as panel 1. Close up on Jennifer. She holds her glass of wine up close to her face. Caption: It seems as if Jennifer is less interested in the movie, but in fact, a whole lot more interested to know about her new boss. Jennifer: Actually, I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about Principal Stern. What do you know about him? Panel 3: Same setting. Close up on Lily. Lily: Vernon? Well, I’ve known Vernon years. I don’t know all that much about him other than he used to be a priest or something before moving here. He keeps to himself most of the time, though he spends a lot of his free time at the Steam Bar. Oh, and did I mention that we’re neighbors? He lives just down the street on the corner of Cherry Hill and Bailey in that big yellow house.
  • 8. Panel 4: Same setting. Close up on Jennifer. She holds up her glass of wine and smirks. Caption: It seems as if Jennifer has a lot more up her sleeve than just gathering innocent information about Vernon. Jennifer: Good to know…
  • 9. PAGE FIVE: Panel 1: It’s nighttime at Steam Bar (crappy dive bar). Wide shot of Vernon, who sits at the bar talking to Tom. Vernon sits on a stool and we see him at a slight side angle from his backside. He has a beer sitting in front of him atop the bar counter. Tom stands behind the bar and cleans out a glass with a white rag towel. Tom is tall and handsome, with brown hair and a light 5 o’clock shadow. Next to Tom is Sallie. She has long curly black hair, blue eyes, and large breasts. She wears a skintight black leather top and she has tattoos covering her arms. Caption: What starts out as a typical night at Steam Bar quickly arises to a rather interesting surprise in the works. Tom: So how is everything going with the new teacher you hired? Vernon: It seems to be going well. No complaints here so far. Panel 2: Shot from behind the bar (Vernon and Tom’s POV). We see the sides of Tom and Vernon accentuating their backsides. They look towards the front door. The space between them is occupied by a shot of Jennifer coming through the front door. She looks amazing, dressed in a denim mini skirt, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, and a tiny red bandana tied around her torso (barely covering her breasts and her perfect waist is showing). Her hair is tied in a loose braid that hangs down her right shoulder. Caption: Surprise! Vernon: Ms. Reid? Tom: Woah! That’s her? No way! You didn’t tell me she was a fox! Vernon: Hey Tom, I’m just as surprised as you are. I’ve never seen her like that. Panel 3: Shot of Jennifer leaning up against the bar counter next to Vernon. Vernon and Tom are in the same position as panel 2, though the frame focuses more so on Jennifer. She has on hand on Vernon’s shoulder and a beaming smile across her face.
  • 10. Caption: There is definitely something different about Jennifer tonight. She has a certain spark in her eye… Jennifer: Hi Vernon! How are you? Funny seeing you here. Vernon: I’m alright, thanks for asking. It’s even funnier seeing you here Ms. Reid. I’m in here all the time. Jennifer: Well isn’t that great? Now I know where to find you, ha ha ha! Vernon: Ha ha ha! Panel 4: Closer up on Jennifer and Vernon giggling to one another. Tom, who tries to lean in on their conversation a bit, occupies the space between Vernon and Jennifer. Vernon and Jennifer have their eyes shut and their mouths gape open in laughter. Tom has his hand in a fist below his mouth as if he is coughing. His eyebrows are slightly raised up to show as if he is slightly annoyed. Caption: Are Jennifer and Vernon flirting? Well, whatever they’re doing, Tom certainly wants in on it. Tom: Ahem! Panel 5: Vernon introduces Tom and Jennifer. We zoom outward to see all three to occupy a wider shot. Vernon’s arm is slightly extended towards Jennifer and his hand is open (fingers close together) as if he is introducing the two. Tom has a huge smile on his face as he lets out his hand to shake Jennifer’s. Jennifer is sitting at the same stool next to Vernon and she shakes Tom’s hand. Vernon: I’m so sorry Tom. I guess we got a little carried away. Tom, meet Ms. Jennifer Reid. Tom: It’s a pleasure to meet you Ms. Reid. Jennifer: Oh please, call me Jenny. Panel 6: Wide shot of the countertop that is now filled with empty shot glasses, beer bottles, and a half filled martini glass with a toothpick stabbed through two olives floating in the glass. Jennifer stands up and throws back a tequila shot as she bends backward slightly to retrieve all of the liquid into
  • 11. her mouth and down her throat. Vernon still sits in the same stool next to Jennifer and he takes a swig from his beer. Tom stands behind the bar and pours more shots with a big, excited smile on his face. Caption: Vernon hasn’t seen this wilder side of Jennifer before. But one can certainly infer that he doesn’t quite feel comfortable with it considering that she is a well-respected teacher at his high school. Vernon: I think you might’ve had just about enough Ms. Reid. Perhaps I should call you a cab. Tom: Don’t be ridiculous Vernon. I’d be happy to take her home and let Sallie close up for the night. Panel 7: Same wide shot as panel 6, but now Jennifer raises her arms in the air as if she is dancing. She has a drunken glaze over her eyes and she expresses a look of wild excitement and thrill. Jennifer: Come on guys! I just got here! This party’s not over yet! Now which one of you boys would like to show a lady a good time tonight? Panel 8: Front view of Sherriff Colt. He enters the bar and wears his navy blue police uniform. He is extremely handsome like a male model, with his blonde hair, blue eyes, and perfectly chizzled features. We see Vernon, Jennifer, and Tom’s backside at a slight angle as if they are looking at the front door at Colt. Jennifer: Well, well, well… And who is that gorgeous specimen? Vernon: That’s our county Sherriff, Sherriff Colt. Jennifer: Damn. Looks like I’ve found my ride home for the evening. Panel 9: Wide shot of Colt and Jennifer at the pool table. We see Tom and Vernon at a slight side angle from the backside, located to the far right side of the panel looking at Colt and Jennifer. Colt leans over to make a shot with his pool stick. Jennifer lays atop the wooden edge of the pool table on her side, as her long sculpted legs lay flat against the edge, the front of her curvy body is shown, and her elbow holds her up on the table while her arm hangs down on the table. She has a
  • 12. seductive look on her face in which her eyelids are slightly lowered and her lips purse up to a faint smirk. Caption: Jennifer’s sultriness is almost too much for the young Sherriff to bear and he finds himself unable to resist her advances. Jennifer: Great game Sherriff, but why don’t we finish up this game over at my place? Sherriff Colt: Sounds like a plan. Vernon: Oh goodness gracious. Tom: Damn! I was so close!
  • 13. PAGE SIX: Panel 1: Early morning at the high school. Full front shot of Vernon walking down a hallway (same hallway from page 3) He wears dark gray pants, a dark blue long sleeved collared shirt, black dress shoes, and a multi-toned blue tie with diagonal stripes. He holds a notepad in his hand. Caption: Still a bit confused by Jennifer’s wild behavior from the night before, Vernon decides to check up on her class to make sure that everything is running smoothly. Vernon: Whistle, whistle, whistle. Panel 2: We see the back angle of Vernon’s head looking into Jennifer’s classroom window. Jennifer is speaking and writing words on a chalkboard to the right side of the classroom and her students sit at their desks quietly and listen to her lecture. Caption: And as you can see, Jennifer isn’t skipping a beat. But how is that possible given how much she had to drink last night? Jennifer: To find the product of “X”, you must first cross- multiply the numerator in the first fraction by the denominator in the second fraction. Once you find the product, you will then divide this number by the detonator of the first fraction. Vernon: Wow. I guess Ms. Reid can certainly hold her liquor. Panel 3: Shot of the back of Vernon’s head from the left side of the panel. We see Vernon returning to his office and his door is opened. Sherriff Colt, as well as two other detectives seize Vernon’s computer along with various document folders. Caption: Uh oh. Something’s gone wrong here. Vernon: Woah, hey! Excuse me! Who are you guys? What’s going on in here? Panel 4: Same backside shot of Vernon from the left side of the panel. Sherriff Colt and the first detective approach Vernon and explain to him what is happening. The second detective continues gathering documents.
  • 14. Sherriff Colt: I’m sorry Vern, but this is pretty serious. Perhaps you should get a lawy-- Detective 1: --Hello Principal Stern, my name is Detective Peabody from the Special Victim’s Unit at the Steam Sheriff’s Office Headquarters. We’re here investigating a possible lead on a child pornography and lewd activity case that was introduced to us by an anonymous source. We have a warrant to search your office, as well as the entire school premises. Vernon: My goodness! Child pornography? Lewd activity? This is preposterous! I am a man of God, sir. There must be some sort of mistake! Detective 1: I’m afraid not. In fact, you’re gonna have to come with us back to the station for questioning. Panel 5: Shot of Vernon and Detective 1 who sit across from one another in an interrogation room. The room is gray and empty with nothing but a lamp, a desk, and two chairs at each end. The second detective observes from the corner of the room with his arms crossed. On the desk are a voice recorder and a notepad and pen in front of the detective. Vernon has a look of confusion and nervousness as he buries his forehead in his palm. Detective 1 is calm and he rests his elbows on the desk while his hands lay flat against the table’s surface. Vernon: This isn’t right. None of this is right. I’ve never in my life looked at child pornography, nor have I ever had any interest in such perversion! Detective 1: Well then, if it wasn’t you, who else could it have been? Vernon: I don’t know detective. I can’t imagine anyone trying to frame me for this. Detective 1: Well, until this investigation is no longer pending, you will be put on temporary paid suspension. This means that you can’t enter the school premises until our investigation is complete. You are allowed to finish out the week and gather some belongings. Your suspension starts on Friday evening.
  • 15. PAGE SEVEN: Panel 1: Jennifer opens a window to Vernon’s home. We see the back of her as her arms raise the window opening upwards. She looks to her right, making sure that no one else is looking. The woman in the picture is beautiful, with wavy hair, big beautiful light colored eyes, and full lips. Vernon looks like a younger version of himself (approximately 20 years old) with his hair parted to the side and wearing a suit. (Make their style look like the style of that era; around the 1960’s). Caption: Jennifer holds up a photograph that seems oddly familiar. Panel 3: Close up on Jennifer’s eyes. The rest of her face is covered by the backside of the picture. Her eyes squint as if making a face of pure anger and disgust. A frown line appears between her eyebrows and the top of her nose wrinkles up slightly. Her eyes are black like a demon (no pupils) and the part of her eyes that should be white are blood red. Caption: And so it begins…

PAGE EIGHT: Panel 1: Vernon walks through the school hallway, a row of lockers at each side as he holds his cup of coffee in one hand and carries a box full of his office belongings in the other. A picture frame, some knickknacks, and files stick out from the top of the box. He wears a white collared long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and black dress shoes. He expresses of look of depression and exhaustion, as he looks down at his shoes. Caption: Poor Vernon. How could something so horrible happen to such a good man? Vernon: I can’t believe this is happening. Panel 2: We see Vernon’s head at a side angle from the back as he looks into the window of Jennifer’s classroom. There are desks, bookshelves, a chalkboard, and various educational posters all around the room (everything that one would expect to see in any typical classroom). She points her finger at a stack of books and they magically float in the air. A green, lightning-like laser beam ejects from her finger to the books, and the books glow with a green outer aura. Vernon: GASP! Panel 3: Close up on Vernon’s face through the window. His eyes are wide and he expresses a look of horror. Caption: It seems as if Jennifer isn’t who she appears to be. Vernon: Dear God! It’s her! Panel 4: Close up on Vernon’s coffee falling to the ground in front of the classroom door. We see his box of belongings on the ground. Close up on Jennifer’s black demon eyes looking straight on. Caption: Too late.

But actually, someone that Vernon once knew long ago… Panel 2: In flashback panel 1 – Vernon wears priest attire and a beautiful young woman stands to the left of him (the same woman in the old photograph from page 5). On the other side of him, Vernon shakes hands with a stranger outside of a church. Caption: Back when Vernon was a priest for the Protestant Church, he was married to a beautiful woman named Sarah. Panel 4: In flashback panel 3 – Shot of Emily, Vernon, and Sarah in child’s bedroom. The room is a light purple color with a purple and white polka dotted comforter on the bed, lots of toys on the ground, cartoon posters on the walls, and whatever one would see in a 5 year old girl’s room. Emily is now 5 years old and looks even more like Sarah. She wears a little white dress with a white ribbon in her wavy auburn hair. She points her finger at Sarah with a green glowing beam of light exiting from her finger and connecting to Sarah’s elevated body. Sarah’s body is outlined with a green, glowing aura as her body lifts above the ground. Vernon is on his knees crying out in horror. Caption: Emily was different than any other little girl. She had supernatural powers. Caption: Her powers were so strong, and her lack of control over her powers resulted in Sarah’s death.
  • 18. Vernon: Emily! Noooo! Panel 5: In flashback panel 4 – Bird’s eye view of Vernon as he signs away his parental rights, admitting her into a mental institution. On the form, we see something like, “I, Vernon Stern (written in his handwriting above a dotted line), hereby consent to the child, Emily Stern (Vernon’s handwriting), as a permanent patient at The Harbor Mental Institute.” (You can be creative with the name of the institution and make the form look legitimate.) Caption: Vernon sent Emily to a psychiatric facility. Panel 6: In flashback panel 5 – Superior (upward) shot looks up at Emily who raises her tiny hand up on the window (on a higher floor of the building). She looks downward at Vernon. Caption: Vernon frantically calls the institution to get some answers. Vernon: This is Vernon Stern! I admitted my daughter, Emily Stern, in your facility almost 20 years ago! Is she still there? Please, for the love of God, tell me she’s still with you!
  • 20. Nurse on phone (speech bubble): I’m sorry Mr. Stern, but it’s stated in Emily’s admission form that she was only to remain as an impatient until she turned 18 years of age. Once she turned 18, she was considered as an adult and was given the option of enrolling as an outpatient. She hasn’t been a part of this institution for the last 6 years. We tried to get a hold of you, but you moved and we couldn’t find a number listed for you. Panel 4: Close up on Vernon’s face. He still holds up the phone next to his ear. He is dumbfounded and paralyzed with fear. His eyes bug out and sweat droplets trickle down his forehead. Nurse on phone (speech bubble): Is there anything else that I can help you with Mr. Stern? Panel 5: Vernon’s hands are pressing against the desk. One hand is holding the phone that is on the hook. He is hunched over the desk with a puzzled look on his face. SFX: CLICK! Why is she here? Dear god, what does she want? Panel 6: Super close up on Vernon’s eyes. They’re looking to the right (our left). We see Emily (Jennifer) behind him towards the left side of the panel with the old photograph in her hand. Caption: To Vernon’s horror, he realizes that he’s too late. Emily: Hello father. Did you miss me? Panel 7: Wide shot of Vernon and Emily (from their side angles) in a standoff, with Vernon on the right and Emily on the left. Emily still has the photograph in her hand. Vernon is paralyzed with fear and expresses a look of pure terror. Caption: Emily has Vernon backed up in a corner and he has no way out. Vernon: So it was you. You’re the one who framed me. You made me out to be a monster. How could you--
  • 21. Emily: --How could I? Really? You have the nerve to ask me that? No, the question is, how could YOU!? How could you have sent me away for all those years without so much as a goodbye? A phone call? A Christmas card? NOTHING! You just left me there like I was a piece of garbage! Emily: Well, I guess your answers couldn’t possible validate your utter negligence and abandonment. No. What you need is to be taught a lesson, father.
  • 22. PAGE ELEVEN: Panel 1: Side view shot of a police vehicle that pulls up into Vernon’s driveway. Tom, Sherriff Colt, and Sallie occupy the car, all holding guns, knives, and any other weapon that they can fit on them. Caption: The gang arrives just in time. Let’s hope that they can take on Emily and her lethal powers. Sherriff Colt: Okay guys, wait here and have your radio on. I’m gonna go secure the perimeter. Panel 2: Back in Vernon’s living room from page 10, Emily and Vernon are still in their stand off (same position). Emily is still calm, cool, and collected while Vernon is scared to death. Emily: I framed you so that I can take over your job once your imminent termination was completed. Just killing you would be too easy. First, I wanted take away everything from you just like you took away everything from me. Vernon: Please, Emily. I thought that you were the product of Lucifer himself! My god, you killed my wife! Your mother! I thought that I was doing the right thing! Emily: Well obviously, you were dead wrong. Panel 3: Emily raises her arm and points directly to Vernon. She lifts Vernon off of the ground with her green glowing laser beam that ejects from her finger to Vernon’s body. Vernon is high above the ground with a green glowing aura around him and he expresses a look of pure pain and torture (as if the laser is hurting him). Emily: Prepare to learn your lesson father, cause it’s gonna be a big one! Panel 4: Back to a wide shot of the outside of Vernon’s house. We see Sherriff Colt (from his left side but located at the right of the panel) peaking through the window with his gun drawn. Through the window, we see everything that takes place in panel 3. Emily also has her mouth open as if she’s speaking with a slight smirk across her face. Sherriff colt has his knees bent as he places himself in proper shooting stance. Vernon is still engulfed in Emily’s laser beam and is raised high above the ground. They are black and without pupils (like demon eyes) the white part of her eyes are bloodshot. Her eyebrows curve downward as to express pure anger, and the top of her nose crinkles. Caption: Uh oh. It looks like Emily is going into beast mode! Emily: Is that so? Panel 4: Emily now has both arms raised up as she elevates both Vernon and Sherriff Colt with her green laser beam. Both Vernon and Sherriff Colt express a look of excruciating pain. Panel 8: Side view of Emily’s dead body leaning up against the bottom of the window. Her eyes are shut and she’s bleeding profusely. Sherriff Colt is on the phone while Tom and Sallie hold Vernon on either side of him, caressing his shoulders. Vernon expresses a look of sadness. Sherriff Colt: Yeah, this is Sherriff Andrew Colt here, badge number 227680. I’m gonna need an ambulance and a possibly coroner here ASAP. There’ve been shots fired and a woman is dead. Sallie: Everything is gonna be okay, Vern. She can’t come after you anymore. You’re safe now.
  • 26. Tom: And don’t worry about your job. Sherriff Colt will take care of everything and back you up. We are always there for you, remember that. Vernon: Thank you guys. You saved my life. I don’t know if I can ever repay you. Sallie: Just be you, Vern. And keep coming back to the bar. Everything will go back to normal in no time. We promise. Caption: THE END.
