What Is Field Service Lightning?
Field Service Lightning works along with Sales Cloud of Salesforce helping
managers and Field Servicemen perform multiple tasks. FSL Salesforce adds the
functionality of keeping field technician at the right place, at the right time, in order
to complete a job assigned. It helps in monitoring the field servicemen activities and
they can also update their real time data through the application like job status, work
orders and change requests. The field Service Lightning mobile app works even
when offline. So the field agents can be connected to the manager even without an
internet connection.
How does Field Service Lightning works?
Field Service Lightning Salesforce really works when the three important parts of
the product works together to provide a complete field service management solution
to the users.
● Clients requests– A field Service Lightning starts when a user receives a call
from the customer to raise a service request. The agent then creates a work
order.
● Dispatcher– Dispatcher schedules appointments and appoints to the field
agents according to the criteria like who is nearby to the location, has required
skill sets and carrying the right tools needed for the service request.
● Field Agent– The field technicians receives the service requests on their
mobile phones through FSL application. They complete the service
appointments and update the service orders. They take the signatures of the
clients after closing the work orders.
What are the benefits of Field Service Lightning Salesforce?
● Access anytime, anywhere- The most important feature of the FSL Salesforce
is its mobility.
● Offline Accessibility- It can be used even when an agent is having some
cellular network issues or does not have an internet connection.
● Faster Service delivery- It helps in providing faster service to clients. It
assigns jobs on the basis of skills and accessibility.
● Improves Productivity- The FSL app provides all the important data on the
device. Accessing those record, a field agent can take immediate action and
resolve queries instead of waiting for the orders from supervisors to come to
the final conclusion.

What Is Field Service Lightning?

  • 1. What Is Field Service Lightning? Field Service Lightning works along with Sales Cloud of Salesforce helping managers and Field Servicemen perform multiple tasks. FSL Salesforce adds the functionality of keeping field technician at the right place, at the right time, in order to complete a job assigned. It helps in monitoring the field servicemen activities and they can also update their real time data through the application like job status, work orders and change requests. The field Service Lightning mobile app works even when offline. So the field agents can be connected to the manager even without an internet connection. How does Field Service Lightning works? Field Service Lightning Salesforce really works when the three important parts of the product works together to provide a complete field service management solution to the users. ● Clients requests– A field Service Lightning starts when a user receives a call from the customer to raise a service request. The agent then creates a work order.
  • 2. ● Dispatcher– Dispatcher schedules appointments and appoints to the field agents according to the criteria like who is nearby to the location, has required skill sets and carrying the right tools needed for the service request. ● Field Agent– The field technicians receives the service requests on their mobile phones through FSL application. They complete the service appointments and update the service orders. They take the signatures of the clients after closing the work orders.
