This document discusses different types of gear roll testers, their purposes, specifications and models that have been supplied to various customers. It describes testers for checking gears with bores, between centers, worms and worm wheels, and bevel gears. Model details are provided for GRT-0, GRT-01, and auto roll testers. It also lists 21 major customers, total quantities supplied and models of gear roll testers provided.

1.  Types
of Testers:

For DFC checking of gears
with bore. It is useful for
process control to check the
gears by m/c operators
periodically.
GRT-O CT/GRT-01 CT
The purpose is same as
above, but, for gears with
centers

2. GRT- Auto PC based
This tester is useful as a standard
room instrument, It is equipped with
electronic probe of 0.001 mm least
count. On one rotation of master gear
5000 readings of linear displacement
are taken, this tester is equipped with
graph of PCD error. It is a good
instrument to diagnose the root
cause of the errors. Parameters which
can be checked are DFCE, TTE,
OPD.
GRT- HUB
This tester is useful for DFC checking
of large batches at final stage. Three
gears of different no. of teeth, but, of
same gear geometry are checked
simultaniously. This is also equipped
with display of all parameters on a PC
with graph. The results are saved and
analysis of the results is given for
gear models, period, defect wise
analysis etc. A dot pin programmable
marker can be mounted on this tester.

3. GEAR ROLL TESTER MODELS
MODEL GRT-01
 GRT – 01: Gear roll tester for checking total composite error of gears with bore. The
master gear & the component to be mounted on plain mandrels of appropriate sizes.
Max module 4, Max gear PCD 400 mm (with master gear PCD 100 mm), Max center
distance between master gear & component mandrel 275 mm, Min center distance 35
mm.
 GRT- 01 (With Live Spindles): All other details same as per
GRT – 01, but in place
of plain mandrel, live spindle for both master gear & component, min center distance 45
mm.
 GRT- 01 CT: Gear roll tester for checking total composite error of Gears between
centers. The master gear to be mounted on appropriate mandrel. The component to be
mounted between vertical centers. Max module 4, max admit between centers 400 mm,
max gear OD between centers 150 mm, max center distance between master gear
mandrel& vertical center axis 150 mm, min. center distance 35 mm.

4.  WGT –01: Tester for worm & worm wheel. Worm wheel to be mounted on a live
spindle with appropriate mandrel & worm to be mounted between horizontal centers. The
horizontal center assembly is mounted on a vertical slide to adjust and match worm wheel
and worm center in one plane.
Max. admit between horizontal centers 250 mm, max dia of worm 125 mm, max center
distance between center line of worm wheel spindle & worm center line 250 mm, max
worm wheel dia 350 mm, minimum center distance 50 mm.
 GRT- 01 Bevel: for bevel gear testing. This will be a tooled up tester with appropriate set
of bushes to mount bevel gears on the desired mounting dimensions

5. MODEL GRT – 0
 GRT-0: Gear roll tester for checking total composite error of gears with bore. The master
gear & the component to be mounted on plain mandrels of appropriate sizes.
Max module 2.5, Max gear PCD 220 mm (with master gear PCD 100 mm), max center
distance between master gear & component mandrel 175 mm, min center distance 35
mm.
 GRT- 0 (With Live Spindles): All other details same as per GRT – 0, but in place of
plain mandrel, live spindle for master gear & component, min center distance 45 mm.
 GRT- 0 CT: Gear roll tester for checking total composite error of Gears between centers.
The master gear to be mounted on appropriate mandrel. The component to be mounted
between vertical centers. Max module 2.5, max admit between centers 200 mm, max gear
OD between centers 80 mm, max center distance between master gear mandrel& vertical
center axis 125 mm, min. center distance 35 mm
 GRT –0 CT (With Live Spindle for Master Gear): All other details same as GRT-0
CT, but live spindle for Master Gear in place of plain mandrel, min center distance 45
mm

6.  WGT –0: Tester for worm & worm wheel. Worm wheel to be mounted on a live spindle
with appropriate mandrel & worm to be mounted between horizontal centers. The
horizontal center assembly is mounted on a vertical slide to adjust and match worm
wheel and worm center in one plane.
Max. admit between horizontal centers 200 mm, max dia of worm 80 mm, max center
distance between center line of worm wheel spindle & worm center line 100 mm, max
worm wheel dia 150mm, minimum center distance 50 mm.
 GRT- 0 Bevel: for bevel gear testing. This will be a tooled up tester with appropriate set
of bushes to mount bevel gears on the desired mounting dimensions
 GRT –01 CT (With Live Spindle for Master Gear): All other details same as GRT-01
CT, but live spindle for Master Gear in place of plain mandrel, min center distance 40
mm

AUTO ROLL TESTER WITH DOT MARKER:
For 100% DFC checking of finished gears without operator dependence with
reliable results.

MOTORISED ROLL TESTER WITH DRIVE, SIMPLE DISPLAY AND
AUTO ENGAGE DIS-ENGAGE:
The tester will be provided with motorized drive display to show tte,tce,opd
and with pneumatic cylinders for engage dis-engage.

GRT HUBFor 100% DFC checking of gears with common master gear, but within PCD
range of +/- 20mm. This tester is well suited for checking 100% gears at final
stage. An arrangement of dot marker enables to mark company identification
or any other alpha / numeric marking on OK components only. Very highly
reliable & productive . Computerized display of readings with graphical
representation.

8. SCOPE OF SUPPLY
 Every tester will be supplied with one set of mandrels/
bushes for master gear & component. (Please give
master gear bore with tolerance, width, gear module &
number of teeth. Also give same details of component
gear to be checked.)
 Master Gears are not in our scope.
 Dial indicator is not in our scope.
 Packing cost for wooden case packing 3% extra of the
basic price.
 Excise duty & VAT will be extra as applicable on the
date of dispatch.
