BDUK RAF Odiham- Project Manager
Employed as the lead Project manager, to drive a joint RAF and Boeing venture at Chinook Maintenance Flight
(CMF) Engineering Support Squadron. Responsibilities included, leading a combined senior RAF and Boeing
project team established to bring the Chinook maintenance facility up to its Full Operating Capability(FOC). The
project was to increase maintenance capabilities, improve efficiency, develop two existing Quality
Management Systems and amend Quality Processes, re-house a modification production line on a zero funds
budget, whilst maintaining cooperate business goals and strategies. Skills utilised to ensure success were,
SWOT Analysis techniques, Stake Holder Management, RISK/RIO Analysis, Project Planning & Resource
Allocation, Strong leadership techniques and excellent communication skills. MS Project was utilised to
monitor and control the project and MS Excel to calculate the Earned Value Management. Concurrently, I also
developed a bespoke Metrics and Maintenance Planning system to support BDUK RAF Brize Norton, for asset,
personnel and man-hour management to ensure all customer requirements are met on time in a dynamic
military environment.
BDUK RAF Brize Norton- C17 Mechanical Supervisor
Responsibilities include, leading teams in the assembly disassembly and/or modification of systems by
changing removing replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement
changes. Oversees assembly overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, Gas turbine, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or
electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and
components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory
compliance. Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Borescope
inspections of Gas Turbine Engines. I am responsible for the management, guidance and mentoring of junior
team members. Oversee any required training and encourages a continuous improvement ethos is
subordinates.
