Most common bidah in asian societies
1. Most common innovations in Asian Societies. Those relating to sincerity in worship… calling on dead saints for benefit, praying or supplicating facing the graves… sacrificing animals in the name of the dead…
2. Those relating to prayers and Quran recitation… Praying of weird salaahs like salat At tasbih, missed salaahs of lifetime.. Praying salaah of conregation like Eidain and Juma’h at home. Reading SurahYasin habitually on Fridays.. Reading Quran for the dead, intending the reward to go for the dead. . Counting tasbih on chana of a fixed number of one lakh ,intending the reward to go for the dead. . ….
3. Those relating to practices… Use of ‘tasbih’ or rosary… counting of tasbih which are ‘newly-invented’ not established by Sunnah or practices of the Sahabahs.. Use of date seeds for count of tasbih…another similar Bidah..
4. What makes something a Bidah? Any act or changing the way a particular act is done in religious sphere which is alien to the religion, not practiced or approved by the Quran, Sunnah or the life of the sahabahs.. Acts of worship and related issues must be done, only as per the guidelines of the authentic sources… Acts pertaining to worldly matters are all allowed, except those that are forbidden by the Quran ,Sunnah and alien to the practices of the Sahabahs….
5. Those relating to beliefs… Belief that any object like beads, threads , plants etc have any sort of benefit or luck in them unless otherwise established by the Deen. Belief that any place like shrines, mosques , rivers, lakes etc have any sort of benefit or luck in them unless otherwise established by the Deen.
6. How do you know when your doing Bidah? When you indulge in an act followed by people, but alien to Islam in a religious sphere… The act could also include an expression of love, gratitude to a loved one or your creator… It is not the intention which is a sin, but the fact that your action it annihilates the tenets of Islam that makes it a sin… Eg: Reading Quran, intending the Thawaab to go to a loved one who is dead…
7. You cannot love or show gratitude to His creation by not submitting your will to Him(Allah-SWT) Bidah is the best way to waste your efforts with the right intention doing the wrong action! It is the Best way to earn grievous sins, by relentless efforts… It is the best eraser of your Good deeds after Shirk…
8. How trivial is Bidah? When you do an ‘innovation’ it implies that you feel the religion is not perfect or complete or is primitive or redundant. It could also imply that the divine ordainments don’t fit in with your capacity or nature… This implies that you think Allah is not fit in His divine ordainments(may Allah forbid)…this is how it negates your faith…and hence it’s a grievous sin.. http://muttaqun.com/bida.html
