Insight
Insight – this is the “Ah Ha Moment” initial step
where we talk to stakeholders, gather ideas
and issues lists, perform guided brainstorming,
and generally seek to uncover cross-cutting
recognition of where improvements can be
made and the potential Order of Magnitude
gain from making the improvements
Objectives
Working with leadership, we use the detailed analysis
from step 2 to define Objectives and Goals for the
organization, be that the entirety of the company or as
constrained as a single team or even scoped around a
particular initiative. This step produces the Outcome
State map. We do encourage that Objectives be Clear and
Practical and, therefore, achievable.
Analysis
Detailed data gathering and compilation to
support (or debunk when appropriate) the
information from the Insight Step.
Measure
We passionately believe this is one of the most
critical elements that divides success from failure, or
at best mediocrity! If a change or activity can’t be
reasonably and objectively measured to determine
impact against investment, then we feel there was a
mistake made in 1 or more of the steps from 1-5 and
needs to be revisited prior to Execution.
Plan
The Plan Step develops the Framework(s) under which
projects and activities will achieve the Outcome State
delineated in the 4th step as well as the expected
resourcing, timelines, structure, and governance model(s).
Execution
Based upon the Plans from step 5, projects and
activities are launched and managed to fulfill the
Outcome State and necessary transitions.
Strategy
In this step, we are working with leadership and key
stakeholders/SME’s to define the “what-ness” of what
we’re going to do to achieve the Objectives defined in step
3. Put another way, we declare and document what things
need to be in place to achieve the Outcome State

Lorne Rogers, Aria Consulting’s Founder and Managing Principal brings 20+ years,
more than 60 projects across 25+ technology solutions, more than 15 industry
verticals, client organizations ranging from 20 staff to more than 100,000 and in 3
countries (Canada, US, Hong Kong), combined with notable accomplishments in
Transformation and Change Management, which has imbued him with unusual
perspective. Leveraging this perspective in addition to an innate and exceptionally
intuitive nature to “see the forest AND the trees”. According to one of the seminal
“Personality Profiling” tests (Meyers-Briggs), Lorne tests consistently as an “INTJ-I”
which is nicknamed “The Architect” for the unusual aspect of having an above median
measurement in all 4 quadrants the results are stated in, though having the 2
strongest quadrants being ‘across’ from the other versus adjacent, which is

Lorne’s 25+ years consulting experience began with a boutique OCM (Organizational Change Management) practice, at a time when even the term
“OCM” had not entered common lexicon, focused on driving improvement for client organizations primarily through team dynamics, leadership
coaching, and gain-sharing programs which afforded him exceptional depth and breadth of learning. Following this, Lorne began his more than 20
years experience in Business Technology in an implementation consultant and SME role with an Alberta-based furniture manufacturing
organization leading their adoption of a new ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) software solution. Upon completion of this many-faceted
engagement, Lorne continued working in the ERP software realm with a local boutique reseller/system integrator as, initially, a Project Manager,
and was promoted a few months later to Practice Manager for the Great Plains ERP consulting team as well as serving as a senior consultant for
various Lotus Notes projects.
Upon the unfortunate insolvency of this practice shortly after the “Y2K” non-event in early 2000, and being unable to find work in the IT field at the
time, Lorne made the difficult decision to take the last few clients from the now insolvent practice and founded the initial incarnation of Aria
Consulting as an ERP software platform reseller and implementation/system integrator practice partnered with new, via a merger, software
company in the US called Epicor Software; a partnership which endured until 2005 when Aria Consulting was forced into bankruptcy due to
actions taken by Epicor Software that were in contravention of the partnership contract.
Subsequently, Lorne became an independent contract resource primarily working through a variety of staffing agencies, initially working in
Project/Programme Manager roles that became more technical in nature over time, and eventually, transitioned to a Solution Architect role
working with the Calgary Board of Education where he had the distinction of being one of the first 2 people in Canada to lead an enterprise scale
production deployment of Microsoft SharePoint 2007, according to Microsoft Consulting Services. This led to Lorne joining EDS (Electronic Data
Systems) as a senior management consultant leading what was termed the Microsoft BPOS (Business Productivity and Office Solutions) consulting
efforts for Canada focused mostly on SharePoint. Lorne remained with EDS for approximately 18 months after EDS was acquired by HP when he
was laid-off. At this time, Lorne went back to independent contracting until, in 2014, he was recruited to work in Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific
Airways as their Manager, ECM to establish and lead the critical and foundational first year of an ECM (Enterprise Content Management) platform
composed of IBM FileNet integrated to a hybrid SharePoint 2013/Office 365 solution.
In the years since returning to Canada Lorne has held a number of senior contract roles in solutions/enterprise architecture and management
consulting.
In early 2019, Lorne decided to take Aria Consulting, which had been nothing more than a shell through which the contract roles were channelled,
back to being a Business Technology software and hardware reseller and professional services implementation practice by establishing
partnerships with a range of carefully hand-picked software companies to collectively provide a significant majority of the technology components
that could form the base many organizations need to power their Digital Transformation journeys.

Following this, Lorne began his more than 20 years experience in Business Technology in an implementation consultant and SME role with an Alberta-based furniture manufacturing organization leading their adoption of a new ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) software solution. Upon completion of this many-faceted engagement, Lorne continued working in the ERP software realm with a local boutique reseller/system integrator as, initially, a Project Manager, and was promoted a few months later to Practice Manager for the Great Plains ERP consulting team as well as serving as a senior consultant for various Lotus Notes projects. Upon the unfortunate insolvency of this practice shortly after the “Y2K” non-event in early 2000, and being unable to find work in the IT field at the time, Lorne made the difficult decision to take the last few clients from the now insolvent practice and founded the initial incarnation of Aria Consulting as an ERP software platform reseller and implementation/system integrator practice partnered with new, via a merger, software company in the US called Epicor Software; a partnership which endured until 2005 when Aria Consulting was forced into bankruptcy due to actions taken by Epicor Software that were in contravention of the partnership contract. Subsequently, Lorne became an independent contract resource primarily working through a variety of staffing agencies, initially working in Project/Programme Manager roles that became more technical in nature over time, and eventually, transitioned to a Solution Architect role working with the Calgary Board of Education where he had the distinction of being one of the first 2 people in Canada to lead an enterprise scale production deployment of Microsoft SharePoint 2007, according to Microsoft Consulting Services. This led to Lorne joining EDS (Electronic Data Systems) as a senior management consultant leading what was termed the Microsoft BPOS (Business Productivity and Office Solutions) consulting efforts for Canada focused mostly on SharePoint. Lorne remained with EDS for approximately 18 months after EDS was acquired by HP when he was laid-off. At this time, Lorne went back to independent contracting until, in 2014, he was recruited to work in Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific Airways as their Manager, ECM to establish and lead the critical and foundational first year of an ECM (Enterprise Content Management) platform composed of IBM FileNet integrated to a hybrid SharePoint 2013/Office 365 solution. In the years since returning to Canada Lorne has held a number of senior contract roles in solutions/enterprise architecture and management consulting.
