After learning that he could make money by picking

started a strawberry farm.
3. After earning his M.D. degree in psychiatry, Polak worked as
an intern at Montreal General Hospital.
He practiced psychiatry for 23 years in Colorado. To better
understand the environments influencing his patients, he
visited their homes and workplaces.

for-profit social venture to benefit the 2.6 billion
customers who live on less than $2 a day.
Founder of D-Rev, a non-profit organisation develop
products and ideas that will benefit the 90% of the
people on earth who are poor.
Also best known for his work with Colorado-based
International Development Enterprises (IDE), a non-
profit organisation he founded in 1981.
5. Paul Polak’s Ventures
Windhorse International sells affordable safe drinking
water to rural Indians.
D-Rev designs and delivers market-driven products to
improve the health and incomes of people living on
less than $4 per day.
IDE has ended poverty for 19 million of the world’s
poorest people by making affordable irrigation
technology available to farmers and opening private
sector access to markets for their crops.
